  1. This topic can be closed. I've given up on Pterodactyl on unraid for hosting game services. Even tho its more efficient than a windows VM, atleast i get stuff done in the VM.
  2. Gday all, I couldn't find a fitting section, so since its mostly OS / software related, i figured i would post it here. 'Recently' i've installed Pterodactyl on my Unraid server (Using the Ibracorp guide), so i could host ... game servers more easily. I've installed a couple of games. Factorio, Valheim, Space Engineers, ARK etc. just fine. And when everything is default, it works just fine also. Factorio i've added mods, without a single issue. Same with Space engineers. no issues with mods and what not. ARK however, is giving me a headache. And my attempts to get support on Ibracorp and Pterodactyl discords have not resulted in any resolution. So the issue: After installing ARK servers (any of the maps), i want to add mods. I simply add those to the ini files and start the server. It will download a few mods, but in this case there is 2 mods it will simply refuse to download, even tho they are stated to be downloaded. These are the Castles and Keeps mod (now this one is arguable large) and S+ (which isn't very large, like 40MB). When i start the server with -automanagedmods, it will attempt to download it but time out. When i start the server without it, it won't even download. Daemon and Panel logs are pretty much clear, aside of the generic timeout message. So ... i download the mods via my client, upload them as a zip file to the panel and then i extract them. Orso . . . thats what i wanted to do, however when extracting these 2 mods, i get an error message: Could not establish a connection to the machine running this server. Please try again. When i remove one of the non malfunctioning mods and follow the same procedure, i do not get such a message and it unpacks (and loads) just fine. I have even removed all mods but 1 of those, and i still have the same issues. So its not some sort of invisible volume / folder size limitation. I've even re-installed the servers. re-installed the deamon and panel, updated them to latest versions (to add Redis) without any luck. And right now i'm really stumped. Cause i really do not feel like setting up a VM to host the servers with the Ark Server Manager (which has no issues downloading the mods either btw). I'm hoping someone here can help me. Additional info: https://hub.docker.com/r/ccarney16/pterodactyl-panel/ https://hub.docker.com/r/ccarney16/pterodactyl-daemon https://github.com/parkervcp/eggs/tree/master/game_eggs/steamcmd_servers/ark_survival_evolved Pterodactyl is setup without the use of nginx or cloudflare dns, but ip based instead.
  3. A powersupply can not directly cause software to fail. However, software is nothing more than a set of instructions to execute and expect a return on the execution. When the execution becomes corrupted, which CAN happen due to power issues, the software will fail depending on the severity. So yes, a malfunctioning powersupply can and will cause hardware and thus software to perform suboptimal. If you want to compare it to a real life situation. Say you're driving on a road, a road needs to be paved right? Well, over time the pavement starts to deteriorate and cause pudholes. Now see the road as your power delivery. Where when it was all new you had no pudholes that could damage your car (software) you now, 7 years later, have many pudholes which can, but not always will, damage your car.
  4. right, so i promised to get back to ya'll when i found a solution. I have done an RMA, got the mainboard back, not the cpu, so ordered another one, currently rocking a 7352 epyc. That i mounted with a Wiha Torque tool rated at 1,4Nm. This works fine. The issue i seemed to have was that 2 of my memory sticks were actually 'broken' or rather didn't pass the memory test, and i had to reseat the cpu 3 times in order for all memory lanes to become active (A and B1 were inoperable the first 2 seats)
  5. Ah nice. i geuss i don't have that issue since i'm using 2 GLI's? reverse it twice? (yes i know, why 2? cause i ordered 2 . . . incase it wouldn't work. and yes, an proper XLR mic is still on the wishlist)
  6. It makes sence, yes. And if you connect the line in to the line out on the back of the Go XLR? And route accordingly ofcourse.
  7. So . . . the inversion happens somewhere from between the line in and line out . .. Lets put this in perspective. Your game / system audio goes out to the GoXLR via USB, where you set up the audio devices of line 1-4 in the GoXLR app and corresponding sources (teamspeak, discord, whichever). Then you output everything (minus mic probably) on the Line-Out of the GoXLR to the Line in on the computer. This line in is configured to be listened to by the Headset. Am i correct so far?
  8. haven't got a clue. Can't find anything in the GoXLR app, nor in the windows section If you connect it without listening to device. Is it still reversed? and perhaps the most simple solution . . . do you have the left cup actually on your left ear?
  9. This here is the exact reason i went for a wireless headset with a docking that had a line in. that way the only thing it has to do is play the audio it receives from the line out on my Mini XLR. When it comes to your issue however, i'm geussing it should be a software fix, where you switch left and right. Most likely somewhere in Ghub or something similar.
  10. Thanks a ton, this helped. Basically what it comes down to . . . treat the AP's as a Vlan aware switch. Then instead of configuring the AP itsself, you do that from the app. Just got to remember that all the vlan's are actually tagged for the AP's you want them to forward.
  11. Gday all, I have an EdgeRouter 12 as my main router. This handles my DHCP, uplink to ISP, Vlan's and the likes. Now i've decided to upgrade my Home WiFi from just a bunch of AP's to a couple AP-AC lite's. To configure the AC-lite's i have installed the unifi network app in a docker on my unraid server. I've managed to configure the AP's on the home network. But this is because i have fixed the docker to only allow 1 Vlan. Now i want to add a 2nd Vlan acces to the docker (aka bridge mode) and configure a guest network, which i already have a Vlan for from the ER-12. How do i tell the unifi network application that i want to use the already existing Vlan's (and DHCP for that matter) from the ER-12? Any help would be appreciated!
  12. Gday, I am using the ER-12. It's an Edgerouter with 12 ports. Passive PoE passthrough. So far, i've not had any issues other than the limiting factor of my 1gb ports. According to the site it can handle 8Gbps. But from what i understand that is the switching capacity. port 8 - 12 are dedicated interfaces and should be able to handle 1gb each. And as a bonus. i myself have configured port 11, with an SFP, to directly take the fiber from my ISP, without using any of their hardware. (caused some issues with routed TV, but all in all it's been good)
  13. Got the torque tool from a 'buddy', no resolution. No post, no dr debug (doesn't light up at all), no speaker beeps, only spinning fans and IPMI. I'm afraid ill have to call for an RMA or 2 . . .
  14. Maybe an odd suggestion. But since GPU market is down the drain right now, or any electronics really. Maybe you could consider going with a iGPU, like the 4750G or 5750G? Don't know what your intentions are with the GPU tho. This CPU is about double the price of a 3600. But all together, it will save you about 100 - 200 bucks on the seperate video card.
  15. If it doesn't show up in Windows nor in Bios, it is likely not connected properly, Dead on Arrival (DOA) or there is a setting in the BIOS that turned the NVME slot off. Aside of these options, i am not familiar with the system itsself.
  16. I personally always go for ethernet whenever possible. Simply because it is more stable. Problem with wifi is that you might need to overcome windows and walls, let alone ceilings / floors. But it also depends on what it is that you need. if you're ok with a bit more latency and a drop in download speed, than go for it.
  17. No i have not, working on getting a 'torque wrench' as loaner and having some cheap wrenches in the mail. Will Holla when it 'works'.
  18. It could be a number of things. Try testing with another keyboard, it could simply be a stuck key. If you pull up the on screen keyboard, see if that does the same. If it does, there is something wrong entirely. but you can usually see on the on screen keyboard if a key is stuck.
  19. Gday all, Recently purchased an EPYC 7282 to pair it with the EPYCD8-2T from ASrock RACK. However, i can't seem to get a post nor Dr Debug led. I do not have the 'required' torque screwdriver, as it didn't come with the mainboard nor the cpu. But before i RMA or spend 100,- euro on a torque screw driver, i'm hoping ya'll have any idea's. When installing the CPU, i seemed not to have any issues. (i checked for socket or pin damage, none that i can tell either) It seated just fine, the IPMI interface came online fine. But i'm not getting a post. The CPU fan starts spinning. there's this led near the heatsink around PCIE Slot 7 that is blinking (bmc heartbeat), and there's a light near the bios battery that turns on (power). When i try to power on the board without CPU it simply refuses. I can turn the board on with just the CPU installed, but all in all, the Dr Debug led won't turn on, so i can't really tell what is wrong. What have i done so far?: I have reseated the CPU a couple of times. (tightening the socket screws half a turn each time) Have tried both my memory modules 1 by 1 in each of the slots. Have updated the Bios Have cleared the CMOS Anybody have any idea how to troubleshoot further, or atleast get the DrDebug display to work?
  20. It is a good question that the manual does not have the answer for. Luckily, the internet DOES have the answer in this case. I know i had the same issue, and for my mainboard (MSI) i had to take the cpu, ram and pci cards out for it to work. And as long as it was updating, the light on the back was blinking / on. (can't remember exactly, either or) And asus seems to know too! how handy! https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1038568/
  21. Yes you can, you'll be using the Flashback option. I do not know if you need to take out the CPU, but you might have to. To restore / update the bios. First get a USB stick and format it with FAT. Download the latest BIOS (non beta) from manufacturer's site, unpack and put the .rom file on the USB drive you just formatted. Plug the USB drive in one of the top USB ports on the mainboard, and power the mainboard on. It should automatically update / recover your BIOS. You can read more details about this on page 3-22 of your user manual
  22. Gday Thomas, Honestly, i would start by flashing the bios. It is more likely that your BIOS is outdated than that your video card is not recognized. Atleast reset the Cmos and see if it posts. Let's see the results after atleast these 2 steps. And for your next reply, please tell us how handy you are with a screw driver
  23. Whops, i see i made a woopsie with the case or the mainboard. Mitx doesn't fit in this case. . . 24. Good day Littleman, It sort off depends on what games he's going to play, but for bang/buck reasons, i would pick AMD Ryzen as a starter point. If you're going APU route, which is feasible for several types of games, an 4750G (or the upcomming 5750G) are good CPU's and save you a nice amount of money as you don't really need the video card. It is however not future proof as you can / will upgrade to a dedicated GPU later on. When going for a future proof system, with a dedicated GPU, i would pick something in the following lines: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor £268.79 @ Newegg UK Motherboard Gigabyte B450 I AORUS PRO WIFI Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard £79.98 @ Amazon UK Memory Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory £74.36 @ Amazon UK Storage Intel 665p 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive £98.87 @ Senetic Video Card EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB XC GAMING Video Card £499.99 @ Box Limited Case NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case £69.98 @ Amazon UK Power Supply Corsair TXM Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply £67.98 @ Currys PC World Business Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit £123.60 @ Newegg UK Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total £1283.55 Generated by PCPartPicker 2021-04-30 12:14 BST+0100 Obviously the graphics card is going to make or break the budget.
