I recently purchased a new monitor and a new PC to go with it (backwards i know but thats how it happened). Unfortunately the new monitor has an uncooperative pixel so ill be taking it back to Micro center, as the purchase was within the last 30 days. As luck would have it the store is out of stock on the monitor i previously purchased, but i can simply return it and get a different monitor altogether. This seems like a good idea only if changing from a TN panel to a IPS along with go from Free-Sync to G-Sync are worth it. PC specs and links to monitor are below.
OS: Windows 10
Motherboard: Maximus IX Hero
Ram: Ballistix 16g DDR4 2400

Aoc agon 27" IPS 1440p 144hz G-sync $549.99
Whichever one i end up with will be accompanied by a Samsung SyncMaster 2333HD as a secondary monitor.

I play video games such as The Witcher III, Pubg, Rainbow6 sieg, and watch videos with this computer i don't do any video editing or anything of that nature. I'm most interested in the color quality difference between TN and IPS, and if ill get any functionality out of getting a G-sync monitor.
Eventually i plan on overclocking cpu/gpu and getting a second Graphics card (If that yields better preference than getting a single new card when something beats the 1080TI). Would that complicate either G-sync or an IPS monitor? Im under the impression that getting a second graphics card (years from now hopefully) would resolve any problems that G-sync would fix, but im not sure i understand exactly what G-sync does. The way i have understood it thus far is it fixes the monitors refresh rate to the number of frames your graphics card is putting out in real time. Would my graphics card putting out sub 144 frames cause tearing? If so i haven't noticed it yet.
TL DR: Is the second monitor worth the price difference.
