  1. Dope! It was vsync, that changes your score. Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the suggestion. Temps have always been fine, not thermal throttling. I give the card 110% power through afterburner. I will try roll back driver to look for difference. The fps in 3dMark does get capped in certain places so that could be it. Ill check that first, thanks.
  3. http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/9877040? I recently noticed some framerate issues and fired up 3DMark to confirm. I'm getting about 14,000 gpu score and about 12,000 overall. A normal non overclocked 980ti is apparently supposed to be around 18,000 gpu scores. Any ideas? Should I be worried/look into RMA. It's a G1 Gaming 980ti that I recently noticed has one dvi port not working. Yikes, its the one of the batches from when they were crazy in demand first week. Thanks, Happy Holidays!
  4. Don't get your hopes up too high. Game only lasts a week or so, it can't handle high levels of vault dwellers/items (lag on high end devices), and it's not server based, causing half the leader board to be people changing their phone time. But for a free game, it's a week of fun.
  5. Just bought one for OpenElec or osmc. Pi is great for HTPC.
  6. Apparently you don't get a steam key until closer to release? Would appreciate to hear if any one actually receives a steam key immediately. Curious because pre-orders through steam are actually in your library.
  7. it's always been like this, it is just not noticeable most of the time. It's out of return date but has warranty. I'll upload some pictures now. I am assuming its a problem with the panel, just hoping for the best. https://www.dropbox.com/s/vd52tue7utn26hi/Photo%20Feb%2017%2C%209%2039%2050%20PM.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/bryhslpn8j0yk09/Photo%20Feb%2017%2C%209%2039%2052%20PM.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/phdmzpg1pf4xxt7/Photo%20Feb%2017%2C%209%2039%2054%20PM.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/ix4rahecbj3gv16/Photo%20Feb%2017%2C%209%2040%2006%20PM.jpg?dl=0 Different contrasts Last photo displays the lines the most clearly.
  8. This is a 3440 x 1440 ultrawide display. 8bit+ color and 99% gamut range. Half of my screen has faint vertical lines. They are only visible with certain colors. If I change the contrast, these lines get more and less visible, and only show up on some of the colors on screen. Changing the color settings also changes the severity of the lines. These are the only setting in the osd that affect these vertical lines. Messing around with different calibration tools, the lines only showed up on cyan in a basic color chart. They still show up in plenty of other places, but they only really piss me off when watching high res movies. Any suggestions? Is this a known display issue? I have tried researching, but don't know enough to narrow down the search. I would not like to send it in for repair unless completely necessary as I am at university. I tested both a display port cable, in 1.1 and 1.2, and a hdmi cable. Both with the verticle lines. I have tested multiple computer and operating systems. No change. Happy to provide more info, just don't know what else would be helpful. Thanks!
  9. I'm putting a server up for fun so if performance isn't were I want it I just won't run a server. Can a ddos attack do damage? or just halt the server. I am just looking out for my home network/other computer data.
  10. I am looking into unforeseen risks. Background: So I just got a tf2 server and a http server running using WAMP. I have portforwarded 2 ports, changed the mysql password, checked timeout for ddos, hidden version numbers, made sure only one folder was accesible (the maps for fastdl). These are my attempts at the best security. I am on windows 7 ultimate x32 and have default firewall settings apart from the 2 ports let through. This is a regular desktop that I have set to public on my LAN and have no important data on it. So I have seen some people swearing not to run servers at home and plenty of people who do. What risks am I facing? Could other computers in my network be affected by an attack on my setup. Thanks! I can provide for info if necessary.
  11. I read somewhere on the forum that Sony pulled it because movie theaters refused to show the film. If that was true, they might release later or something to preserve some sort of profit. After all, they are a business. In general though, I agree with Obama's statement.
  12. Done . Interested to see some graphs well all is said and done.
  13. Thanks Glenwing. I attempted to take a photo of it, but like many others posting pics of back light, it over exaggerates the light significantly. I will note though, the picture makes it look just as bad as many of the cases on the internet. The only time I can actually tell it's there, when the room is completely dark, is when the screen is completely black. This leads me to believe it is normal, and I will not be RMAing. Couldn't recommend this monitor enough
