    Then it would be good to know the region you're from.
    RX580 or 1660 (supter) might be at or below 250$

    I just looked at your build and there is something wrong with it
    1:dont get a 7700k go for a 8700 or ryzen 7 or wait till the 2gen comes 
    2 :get a better cooler like a 240mm or a air cooler
    3 dont get 750w psu for a 500w build
    4 new mobo for your system

    If programing use ryzen 5 1600 and get a 1070 or 570 
    if its only gaming then use intel i7 4770k like what #pcguy said

    If I feel like spending big buks I might go 1180/Vega 64 (G2, will be based on 12nm) and a 2800X (alongside either 16GB or 32GB of RAM, probably 16 though...)

    I'm planning to build a PC in 2018, and these two are currently the ones I'm looking at. People say that the 8th gen CPUs had one of the biggest leaps in performance from the 7th gens.
    For the past 4/5 years, I've been using a quite powerful laptop with an i7 3610QM (just to let you guys know). I also plan on using my upcoming build primarily for gaming, and secondarily for video editing.
    The GPU I plan on using (specifically) is the MSI GTX 1060 6gb Gaming X
    Currently these are my concerns/questions:
    Would spending a couple dozen more $$$ for i7 8700k be worth it? Or going with the i7 7700k still suffice? Will there be significant leaps in FPS or productivity speeds (I think it will have a noticeable difference due to the core and thread counts) In terms of future proofing, would the 8th gen cpu and z370 boards be backwards compatible with the 9th gen line ups? (I think it would depend on intel) Should I prioritize future proofing? would an i7 8700k be an overkill for the 1060? If you guys would recommend a Ryzen cpu (and motherboard), which would it be and why? Thanks in advance!
