  1. I bought it because I am an impulsive idiot at times ... I have a lancool K60 case, but for some reason my brain just said "GOFORTHECASEGOFORTHECASE" The old case is not bad airflow wise but I kid you not, it took me 5 MINUTES of brute force to get the 8pin cable through the case's opening. in order to get enough clearance to pass the plug, I had to bend the steel flap where the side panel goes in...and do the same to get the cable out. lmao It's still bent.. Somehow getting it back into its original position is harder hahaha The case is around 7 years old haha I just checked the bottom opening and it's around 8 fingers wide. I'll see if the fans I got in my old system will do the trick and keep the new build a bit cooler. They are kinda broken tho... (somewhat loose), so i'll probably look for a new set of fans + a fan hub. Because the motherboard has only one fan plug besides the CPU one. #SmallFormFactorthings
  2. Gracias for such a rapid response haha I'll try some more overclocking when I get a proper cooler + a possible mobo swap (the b350 board has no VRM cooling, that scares me)*. I would like to see how high can I get my cpu + gpu (EVGA SSC ACX3.0 1050 2gb) The case is dodgy tho... (Cougar MX340). I doubt I'll get decent airflow when the front panel is 100% closed (It has no ventilation holes what so ever) *If my country's economy permits it.. lol
  3. p.s.: I wasn't able to find a decent x370 board... I was thinking of getting an AsRock x370 pro4 board + the gammix kit I previously mentioned.. but my country's economy and stock are all over the place lately... I am afraid to raise the voltages and burn something...my bad luck never ceases to amaze me.
  4. So I've recently finished my ryzen5 build. I got a 2600 + 2x8Gb of ADATA Gammix D10 ram in an ASUS B350m-a PRIME/CSM The ram stick model is the ax4u240038g16-SBG I raised the clocks peed to 2666MHz through the BIOS, bumped up the voltages to 1.22v But I keep getting around 2660/2661. I've googled around and found no info regarding OCing these ram sticks... (Maybe I haven't googled hard enough) HWiNFO is displaying a multiplier of 13.33x... if that serves as additional info. The BIOS screen says that my ram speed is 2666mhz... I did a quick torture test on AIDA to see if the clock would go up to what I am looking for, but to no avail Are these numbers right? Did I choose the wrong memory kit for my build? I was going to get a pair of GAMMIX 8gb sticks that run at 3000mhz natively, but I couldn't find them... (I got impatient because my country's currency rate is all over the place, and I bought the parts as soon as the dollar convertion rate went down a bit.) The current conversion rate for my currency (Argentinian Peso) is > 1 Freedom buck = around 38.01 Argentinian rupees... Thank you for your patience while reading this. It's probably a shameful display, but this is my first time overclocking memory... ^^"
  5. [UPDATE] I couldn't find an AsRock x370 board... since my country's going under an economical hell storm, I bought: AMD R5 2600 (first time "hexa" core) 2x8GB Adata XPG GAMMIX D10 (I'll see if I can push it up to 2666MHz at decent timings) B350m-A PRIME (CSM) (I'll see if I upgrade this later down the road, I just wanted something that can run the CPU and be done with it) And I bought a cougar MX340 case because I was way under budget. This was an impulse buy...don't judge me haha I had enough with my lancool K60, passing the 8pin cable through the cable management hole on the top is a NIGHTMARE. I have to literally bend the side panel's steel side guide (where the case panel slides in) in order to get the cable through. It's HARD I tell you... The build starts tonight. This will be my last message on my FX 4100. You had a good life, but everything must come to an end.... R.I.P. AMD FX-4100 2011-2018 "I CAN'T EVEN RUN SKYRIM FOR F%%#S SAKE" -Me /thread
  6. Perfect. I don't plan to go insane with the overclocks (I don't think I'll even overclock at all...) I just want something that can properly handle the CPU and doesn't break the bank. I don't care for the APUs. I'll just upgrade my gpu in the future (if the prices ever go down) sorry for being so annoying.. I haven't researched a thing for years because I thought I was gonna die on the FX platform. Thank both of you for the help! ok. /thread [UPDATE] I am hyped. I found a PC store that sells an AsRock X370 pro4 board...but they have no stock at the moment. I'll YOLO it and get the CPU and an 8gb stick for now, and hold on to the rest of my cash and get the 2nd stick+the MoBo when the board hits the shelves again. I'll create a thread when I get the stuff. If the AM4 bracket that CM sells fits my hyper212 plus, I don't have to worry about getting an air cooler. I.AM.HYPED.
  7. Ga AX370m gaming 3 / ASUS TUF B450m-PLUS = Decent enough? or am I off to a bad start. I cannot find a single pro4. The only model I could find, is the Intel board and it's pricey (they only ship them from the US, and the seller has an awful reputation) The MSI Tomahawk is nowhere to be found for now...
  8. This was a lot faster than I've anticipated LOL Thank you very much for your answers ! I will commence operation "burn the bulldozer" in a few days. I'll create a thread once I finish rebuilding this thing (And get someone to take my FX 4100 to a better place. haha) Again, thank you! and have an awesome week
  9. I've just found a 2x4gb 3000mhz kit for cheap from "Team group" (delta red) Is that brand worth it? I've seen it on past LTT vids, but they've mostly used the "high end" kits. Or I could just go for a single 8gb stick now (I've found a cheap Gskill Aegis 3000mhz stick as well), get the set up running and get the second one by the end of the year. (My current set up works.. so I'm not in a hurry) I hate ram chip manufacturers lately
  10. Wow that was fast hahaha I was editing the post hahaha The 1600 is non existent here (they are very smart...), I would've just saved a couple of bucks and went directly for that one. If I come across one, I bet an entire corn field that it will be more expensive or as expensive as the X model because reasons LOL Same goes for most "non X cpus" from the red team... I LOVE my country. (That and they cannot tell me why the i3 is the same price as the r5 1600x. I checked amazon and I could get an I5 for the same price.) I'll go for the R5 and see if I can track down one of these boards (I highly doubt that, since those motherboards tend to be pretty expensive. Because "they are rare pieces of technology and are only for the very few chosen ones") Should I just get 8gb and upgrade to 16 when the whole ram thing settles and prices go back down? or should I just YOLO it, bite the bullet and avoid looking at the price tag.
  11. Hello everybody ^^ After a strike of luck, I am finally able to upgrade my build to the current generation. But lady luck is a foul mistress, because our economy is going bananas as we speak (The current currency rate is: 40AR$ = 1US$, for now...) These are the CPUs I've got in mind: The Ryzen 5 1600x and the I3-8100 Both CPUs are around 7000AR$ (That equals around 180 freedom bucks plus change, IF the currency stays at the current rate) I am looking to get a decent CPU that will handle live streaming (480/648p 60fps, because my ISP sucks) + "low end" gaming I just want to run some oldies such as TES V, the CoD saga, GTA, PS2 emulation every now and then, rhythm games and maybe AAA titles at 1080p low (or mid...) I am thinking of pairing either CPU with a budget motherboard (A b350 for amd or a b360 to LUCKILY upgrade the CPU to an I5 in like..10 years...) and 16 gb of ram. My current build: fx4100 (don't laugh at me, I was once like you ;; ) gtx 1050 2gb (SSC) 8gb of ram DDR3 Corsair CX550m Should I follow my heart and go for it? or is there a better config for my needs. p.s.: Since I don't know if my current cooler (hyper 212 plus) will be compatible with the AM4 bracket that CM sells, I am buying a cheap cooler for the AMD cpu. Any help's appreciated, thank you for reading this wall of text and have a wonderful day!!
  12. My Coolermaster quickfire TK died :D

I got a roccat ryos mmk pro for cheap (on a sale) around march...

I HATE MY F******* LUCK KLFJEWKL GOD F**** DAMMIT

  13. portability, space saving and most important. To show how far has technology come... manufacturers are able to spit a fully gaming rig, that's as small (and even smaller) than a shoe box. oh and also not to mention that systems like the one shown on the video are WAY more powerful than some laptops (but that gap is shorter and shorter) If I could afford it (and get all the right components) I would go small form factor faster than you could say FIRE SLICK
  14. yeah... I'd rather clean it as good as possible... this is he first time I have a mishap..and it had to be on my most expensive peripheral ever. I'm doing the cleaning while checking the replies here. I wont assemble the keyboard until everything is as clean as possible + see what lube I can get for the switches (just in case) good thing I have my previous keyboard... (it feels.....weird to type on a membrane again...) ======= I just cleaned the back of the pcb, the casing and the keycaps.. now, I wait (at least 2 days) so everything dries out and plug it again :crossed_fingers: p.s.: It seems I lost one of the f*** rubber pads....my day couldn't be any better....I found it... phew
  15. oh well gg.. using a quickfire tk... fml. I can only clean the back of the pcb.
