  1. tl;dr I've got a micro sd card I'd used in an ipod mod a few months ago, now plugging it directly into my pc it claims it's write protected. I've tried removing the write protection in diskpart, which completes but doesn't do anything. Also tried to clean with diskpart but this only gives me a 'semaphore timeout period has expired' error. Any help would be appreciated, as it's a 256 gig card that I'd like to continue using...
  2. I'm doing a burn test on gpu and cpu at the same time right now, no trouble yet. Most of the times it bluescreened was during gaming, but it's also happened while playing a youtube video in the background or doing nothing while I looked at my phone, so I don't think it's stress or thermal related.
  3. Sorry, forgot to mention I did a memory diagnostic already. And considering I had no problems with it for a week I doubt it's a hardware problem with the cpu. I'll keep it in mind as a last resort though.
  4. Finally got my computer working again last week, but alas it was not to last. I've been having various BSOD's since a few days ago, and I can't seem to nail down what the problem is. Here's what BlueScreenView has to say about it: It seems that ntoskrnl.exe is the common denominator in all of them, though NTFS.sys failed as well in the third dump file from the top. Things I've tried: Driver updates Windows recovery to before the problems started Windows memory diagnostic, no errors sfc /scannow, but it finishes WAY too quickly so I'm not convinced it's actually doing anything Using furmark to burn test both the gpu and cpu at the same time, it gets pretty toasty but no insability of bsod so far. Any ideas? My main problem right now is that I have no way to induce the BSOD, it just sort of...happens sometimes. So it's a bit difficult to test individual solutions.
  5. Motherboard displays a code 99 (super io initialization) as well as a white led at vga on the mobo. Specs: Asus ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING Ryzen 5 2600 2x8gb Corsair 3600 EVGA 1070ti SC Corsair RM 850x two m.2 drives (one nvme and one sata) and two sata hdds Things I've tried: unplugging all external io, including monitor different gpu new psu BIOS flash through usb, seemed to work fine but no changes in symptoms Honestly I'm out of ideas and energy, especially since I only bought this motherboard to replace another one that broke so any help would be sorely appreciated. Also, since everything but the case and psu is out of a previous rig that failed I'm assuming the new motherboard isn't just DOA.
  6. yes, yes, yes, and once again yes. Honestly I'd settle for the 12 threads of my old ryzen 5 right now
  7. Just checked, everything seems okay and i replugged cpu power at both ends just to be safe.
  8. What cables? I have sata power and data connected, as well as all the headers and psu cables. I don't have anything external plugged in right now.
  9. Just did, nothing. Are you sure that means there's something wrong though? I'm not even posting to the point where I get a beep out the speaker I plugged in.
  10. As stated in my original post, I first tried to post with everything plugged in. Just tried to boot with mouse and keyboard plugged in and again nothing. This time I did notice that my mouse isn't even receiving power as the leds aren't lighting up.

  12. A corsair RM850x, should be okay for an i73280 and 780 with some extra hardware in there (gt710 as well as a half dozen hard drives). As for the memory, the problem developed while all my memory sticks were installed in all 8 slots, I've tried different sticks in different slots but that just causes more problems.
  13. Getting an error 67 from my old MSI mobo, manual said late CPU initialization. Before it gets to that error it also briefly flashes 2f, meaning early memory initialization. I've tried: Replugging the CPU power connector Different ram sticks Reinstalling the CPU Checking the pins on the motherboard (they all look fine) Clearing the cmos Switching to a different clean bios (the board has a bios switch, I was using A and B was still stock, but when I switch to it I still get the same error) FYI I'm not doing any overclocking, and cooling definitely isn't an issue, and I just got a brand new 850 watt PSU so I doubt it's that either. Any ideas? EDIT: this is a second hand x79 board so it just being dead is also a possibility, however I don't see any physical damage to the board or connectors. If there is however a defect, would it be the motherboard or the cpu?
  14. I just got my new psu and it still won't post, starting a new thread to solve a late CPU initialization error
