  1. I think you are going to be fine with a 1060. A dirty way to look at your power consumption is to check on PC partpicker. Add all your components, check the consumption. Add 75-100W to it and you should have your power ratings. This is a dirty way that works for the most part. If you really want to dig in, then you'll have to check the power supply voltage rails and max current they can draw. If you need help with understanding that, look around on forum or you can DM me.
  2. I like my Fractal case and it is a good company to work with but here is a thing, do you care about RGB? If yes, you can probably buy a case with RGB and a fan controller for that amount (or a little more). GN and Jayz2cents have some decent videos about Fractal cases. S2 and R6 are pretty similar cases and Meshify is is meshed version of S2 (More airflow with slightly worse acoustics). At the end, it is going to be a lot more subjective depending on what you are looking for.
  3. Then why not go for a 8700K instead of 8700? You will be overclock 8700K in future if you run into a bottleneck in future.
  4. I just read official Youtube creator post, Verge is not going to get my click on their website
  5. No, just go with the splitter for now.Should be more than sufficient. If you decide to add more fan then use the hub.
  6. I think he is referring to that https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-System-Cables-Black-CPF04/dp/B00VNW556I/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1549902607&sr=1-4&keywords=fan+splitter
  7. Doesn't really matter. You won't hit safety current and even with two fans running at safety current, you are still well within spec for the MB connector. Go ahead and use a splitter.
  8. oh on the web link it said 0.16A safety current. Safety current for a motor is the current after which the Motor will start smoking/shut down (if there is a mechanism to cut off the current). You should be fine with two fans on one connector.
  9. You should be fine. Fan draws 0.16 A max current, so for 2 fans 0.32 A max. Your connector can handle up to 1 A
  10. Yep, that is my point. I did not learn everything in one day, you learn by doing it or failing to do it at some point. I have screwed up some things in past, when I look back they look stupid but stupid to "present" me (they would've looked stupid someone who had more knowledge). Again, I reiterate my point, you won't know things until you learn them. I don't care how small/stupid things look. If someone is trying to learn, I will do my best to help them out. I am actually glad that there is a place like LTT forum where people can discuss about these things and get the help they need.
  11. GPU stuck posts quite common though. People don't realize there is a tab to release it from slot.
  12. Great job! Glad you could get it out. Let us know if you have any other questions.
  13. Try to push those in, you can apply a little pressure (Just on the lower part of the metal plate) to push them and what @aisle9 said
  14. Yes, try to get it back in the slot (do NOT apply excessive force). After it is in the slot, unlock the tab and the GPU should come out without any issue
  15. You need to re-seat the card in slot and then unlock the tab
  16. RTX basically means cards with Ray tracing technology. This video explains it pretty well
  17. You can also go to PCpartpicker and select your components. On top, it will give you the total power consumption of the system. For a usual gaming PC 100-150W power more than the total power consumption of your system is typically fine.
  18. So the rumors say that 1160/1660 is a 2060 without RTX. I personally don't care much for RTX since it is a new technology and I think even if it catches on, next gen cards will be better for it (I might be completely wrong here, Nvidia might do some software trickery and RTX performance might get a huge boost). Although with current performance numbers of RTX, I wouldn't pay the extra premium for it. All this is speculation, we won't know until the card is launched and is benchmarked by tech community
  19. If you are going to stick with 60Hz 1080P, a 2060 will be enough for you. Something like in the link below. The card is single fan card so, I think it will fit in your system. Although with rumors about 1160/1660 being launched on Feb 15th, you can also wait for a little bit. https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-2061-KR
  20. If you don't know how to look up Power supply of your computer, can you post a link for your model?
  21. Re-seat the card properly, press on the clip and try again. If you still have issues, remove the board out of the system and try again
  22. There is a small tab on the right side (just like one you have for RAMs, did you remove that?
  23. Are those temps standard fr your laptop model or your case is different? If your laptop is still in warranty, I would recommend talking to Acer. Is there a fan tuning software that you use? If not, you can try speedfan and try different fan profiles. I would also recommend a cooling pad for your laptop. It helps my Lenovo a lot
  24. Check the benchmarks for both chips in kind of tasks you want to do on your laptop.
