  1. Both the EVGA and Corsair have zero fan modes at low to medium loads. In terms of reliability, they are both great and you aren't pushing them to their limit by any means.
  2. Both are good power supplies. I would go with the Corsair because it has a 10 year full warranty while the EVGA only has 5. To me the 5 more years of warranty are worth the extra money.
  3. You can, but the only thing that I would be using them for is something like mining.
  4. I agree that he should try resetting it and change any setting he can to get it working, however, I wouldn't do anything that could have even a slight risk of permanently damaging his phone. All my opinion, do whatever you feel best.
  5. I haven't ever done it. But if it is something wrong with the phone (though I don't know what hardware issue it could be) then Apple will just give you a new iPhone 8 for free.
  6. I would get with Apple and see if they will fix it for you or replace it. I would find that to be more worth it than doing it yourself because if Apple messes something up when reinstalling IOS, they will give you a brand new phone for free.
  7. That drive is a good one WD greens are good as well. But that one will work very well for desktop file storage!
  8. I mean it wont hurt to try I guess. If you can open parts of the keyboard then I would help it dry out and would also definitely give it 24 hours to dry before trying to use it.
  9. It might but I doubt it. Its all up to if there was a short when the water was poured on it and if any components inside got damaged.
  10. I have always had bad luck with those sort of adapters. They generally do something funky like that. you can try to use the adapter with a different monitor but Im thinking your adapter isnt working properly. I found one that I really like that is 20 bucks from Walmart and have bought several and all of them work flawlessly. https://www.walmart.com/ip/V7-CBLHDAV-1N-HDMI-TO-VGA-ADAPTER-CABL-WHT-LAPTOP-TO-VGA-PROJECTOR-LCD-TV/34937690
  11. The BIOS update should be on Lenovo's website. And unless your motherboard supports it (which i doubt), you will not be able to overclock your new CPU.
  12. They have already tried updating windows and they are using an SSD to boot. So it wouldn't be either of those issues @Matty2048 and @AngusBrown unless his SSD is failing which wouldn't make sense because the rest of the boot up is working fine.
  13. I would say that it could be something wrong with an update? How long has this been happening (did it just start all of the sudden). It could also be a lot running in the background during boot. I would go to the Startup tab in Task Manager and see if there is anything that you can disable. If that doesn't change anything, there could be tasks running to login, go to task scheduler and see if there is anything running at login, that could explain how the rest of the boot up process is working normally and the login screen is having issues.
  14. Yes, being bent is fine, as long as the capacitors are in contact with their contacts on the board, it will work.
  15. Even if there were tasks running then would that still stop the task manager from working? @ITheSpazI I would say that it could be a virus or something running in the background. I would definitely run a full security scan. And if possible, use something other than defender (i.e. Avast, Malwarebytes)
  16. I would pull out that 980, there will be absolutely no use for it in your server application, not to mention the power increase of your system (and heat output) that will occur if you left it in there. Also, I think you are fine on RAM Teamspeak only uses a few hundred MB of RAM from my research, but I would at least wait to get your server running and then decide if you need more because RAM is at a very high premium right now. Other than that you are fine as long as you are ok with the fact that your old gaming hardware won't be nearly as efficient as server hardware and therefore you will have higher power consumption.
  17. I would definitely do that! It will provide you with much better performance since it's not the same architecture from 2011. Also, AMD will be supporting AM4 until 2020.
  18. But I would say that you should replace the 750 with a 750Ti. I would probably go with a bigger power supply to at least 600w. If nothing else, it would give you growing room in the future and you wouldn't be pushing your PSU less, which could help to extend the life of it.
  19. The answers to your questions are both yes. However, I would HIGHLY recommend going to Ryzen or waiting for Ryzen v2 rather than staying on the FX series. What exactly would you be planning on doing (or what do you do with your system)? Since you are already buying a new motherboard, I would definitely go to something like a B350 chipset and pair it with even a Ryzen 3, which will be leaps and bounds ahead of the FX 8350. And won't cost you a whole lot more.
  20. I would say this is a software issue. Does your GPU go to 100% fan regardless of if a curve is applied? I would also recommend trying out a different program to set a fan curve if possible. Also what are the other componets of your system?
  21. This might be a dumb question but, have you tried to restart the router and see if it will change anything?
  22. I wouldn't blame this on Windows or your PC yet. I suspect it is the router. I would definitely try to use an ethernet cable connected to the router if you can. This would at least help eliminate some possibilities.
  23. I would say that the power supply will be fine for what you are trying to do. At max, you will probably be only using around 500 watts (even with an overclock to your CPU). The PSU is also rated 80 plus bronze and will provide roughly 200 watts of expansion room in the future. I would say unless you notice something wrong with your system (i.e. shutdowns or crashes when pushing the system) then I would keep the PSU and spend your money elsewhere like in getting a single more powerful graphics card.
  24. Go into device manager (right click on This PC) and go to drives, you will see your 4tb drive with all of its partitions. Delete all of them and then create a new one that is 4tb
