all the drivers you need will be found on the manufacturer's support page for the products they sell and support.

Looks like Asus and Gigabyte will be your only stop. you'll want the Chipset drivers, LAN drivers, USB drivers, MAYBE the soundcard drivers if you're NOT using the HDMI or DP passthrough from Asus, and the latest GeForce Experience drivers from Gigabyte OR just download it directly from Nvidea.

Oh, you'll want to stop by Logitech for headset to see if they have something you'll want.

How is this compelling? You could get 2 1080 TIs in SLI, have better performance and have 1800$ left in your pockets to spend on blow and hookers.

An AIO would definitely help. Doesnt mean that the airflow inside the case would be irrelevant though as radiators have fans, GPU needs air, some air to help the RAM integrated heatsink.

Just make sure the air intake sections arent blocked by anything. And ensure regular dusting of the mesh.

Yes, the P400 is a nice looking case. Only problem is the airflow on them is rather sucky. I personally have the P400S, it does the job but if you intend to go with the 8700k and overclock it, I just wouldnt be so dead set on the case.

They don't have much of a choice imo. If the 2700 is 12/24 the 2600 might be 8/16 and the 2500x might be 6/12. As well as the lower 2300 and 2400x being 6/6 if that's the trend.
And don't get me started on the TR4 socket Zen...
16 cores is $900 this gen. Imagine 32/64 on the enthusiast tier?
Intel better wake the hell up and either call bluff or hope that the next refresh can keep them afloat.

I wonder what Intel response to this will be.

Maybe they'll try and introduce consumer grade 12 core CPU's as well.

I think they should consider bringing it back as an option, at least for high end consumer below HEDT. Now that we're entering into many more cores, the increases in ram speed aren't keeping up with the CPU potential.

Yep, dual channel would be the sweet spot for the regular consumers such as gamers.

Quad Channel would be helpful for power users, using more RAM sticks.

Triple channel memory is a relic of the past. Gone and sadly forgotten.

With that being said, dual channel seems to be the sweet spot for the regular consumer. I can see the value in quad channel for HEDT prosumer machines because of the types of workloads they need to do.

BTW, why is nobody mentioning triple channel?! REMEMBER THAT?!

TheNight reacted to porina in Wich motherbord is better,Dual channel or quad channel?
The number of memory channels is part of how much total ram bandwidth is available. It scales simply, dual channel is double single channel. Quad channel is double dual, or 4x single. The other factor is the rated speed. Generally it is easier to have more channels than fewer faster ones.

The limitation is quad channel is only really available on higher end hardware. Do you really need it? Most things only have a weak to moderate impact. I have some compute scenarios where it has a high impact, but they're not every day things.

Ryzen CPUs can be helped by faster speed ram, as its infinity fabric is matched to the ram clock. The number of channels doesn't impact that directly.
You can use 4 modules on dual channel no problem. Unless you need high total capacity, consider getting two modules and keep the slots spare.

Depends how much ram you want.

Dual channel has 2 separate buses used for information delivery to the CPU. Meaning that if you have 2 DIMM sticks there would be no contest between them as long as they are inserted into the proper slots.

Quad Channel is the same concept but on a larger scale. If you use 8 DIMM sticks on a quad channel motherboard, rather than a dual channel motherboard, only 2 sticks would have to compete with eachother in terms of information delivery to the CPU compared to 4 sticks competing on one bus to deliver information.

I'm not entirely sure how it works, but dual channel and quad channel don't make much of a difference in performance, except for AMD Ryzen CPUs.

Alrighty, so around 1200sqft and not too many devices. I was going to suggest a Netgear R6400 or an ASUS RT-AC56U to use with AdvancedTomato but apparently you guys have a SICK deal on Netgear's R7000 Nighthawk router at the moment on Amazon.co.uk which is exactly what I run at home. Tomato firmware is a modified OpenWRT router OS that provides much more stability and functionality over stock router firmware, and is available here: https://advancedtomato.com/

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/NETGEAR-R7000-100UKS-Nighthawk-Dual-Core-Processor/dp/B00HDK4GAK/

If you're not looking to modify the firmware though, I'd look for an ASUS RT-AC56U / RT-AC66U instead, as they run a custom ASUS MerlinWRT firmware that's just as reliable as OpenWRT variants, sans all the advanced features you probably didn't even know you didn't might not possibly potentially conceivably need.

For context, the R7000 is a bit overkill, but because it's on sale for such a great price, I really can't recommend anything lower performing, even just to save a few pounds. It can easily handle your needs now, and was actually what I setup at a prior retail store I worked at to run over 100 wireless devices at once.

Budget: I don't want to spend to much on it, maybe most would be 80 USD
    Location: Ireland
Area of House: Not 100% sure. Maybe 11 x 10m
    Devices Connecting: I have connected
    Wired: PC, using powerline adaptor
Wireless: iPhone, iPad, and like 2 other android phones.
No garage, basement or attic. The router is downstairs at the middle front of the house.
Features: I need WiFi and Ethernet obviously,
5.0 GHz frequency would be nice, but not necessary

No, I said the new i3 is basically the same chip as last Gen's i5. That means it's in a new socket, new chipset and all. It is part of the latest cpu lineup you can get. Also it is definitely better performing than the R3. They are priced about equally where I live so the i3 definitely offers more bang for your buck if you will so.
