Exoriya got a reaction from Stahlmann in LG 34GP950 Monitor; Dimming?
Seems I finally found a fix.

Apparently a Hotfix for a Nvidia Driver was released regarding some issues in YouTube displaying dark area's while idle. I'm not 100% certain that this Hotfix will work, however by having it I haven't encountered the issue while using Google Chrome again. Only time will tell, as it sometimes does it at random. I suppose I didn't downgrade my Nvidia driver far enough xD.
So if anyone is having any of the issues I am facing, try downloading this Hotfix and I hope it works for you. ❤️

I just used Edge and the issue appeared as well on YouTube. o.o.

So now I'm thinking it's something to do with "Chromium"? Cause Firefox doesn't.

But what I'm confused about is why is anything related to Chrome / Chromium is making my screen darker than it should be? It's really annoying. I have no idea what is causing it. Clearly it has to be something to do with whatever Edge / Chrome is built on like Chromium, because it doesn't happen with Firefox.. sigh

So for example.. In this video. 45 seconds in the video, he highlights two items that makes the video darker. This is normal obviously. But what Chrome / Edge likes to do, is while the video is that dark both browsers tend to randomly as well darken the outside of the video. Just like the video I provided above. 😕

Will test this new Hotfix once im home. Though I did downgrade Nvidia Driver so idk.

You're pretty much correct on that one due to the screen size. If I read somewhere correctly, 3440x1440 is basically a 2560x1440 but just with extra horizontal pixels (3440, instead of 2560) that extend the sides of this monitor. Picture quality should look the same, as a 2560x1440 at 27" is ~108.79 ppi (pixels per inch) while a 3440x1440 at 34" is ~109.68.

My own monitor has a 1500R curvature and it's not too curvy that it would drive you crazy and is pleasant on the eyes.

I've been super invested in upgrading my monitor.. I was recently told that a Ultrawide monitor will look best and give better immersion on this particular game that is releasing shortly. Due to seeing it in a wider view than you would normally.

The monitor I was about to pull the trigger for was the Alienware AW2721D. Looked perfect to me. It was 1440p, 240hz, IPS, G-Sync. etc. Looked beautiful, and I bet it even had beautiful display/picture quality. However, when this person told me about the ultrawide, and in that particular game.. I kinda stepped back and viewed the Ultrawides instead. I've came across from Rtings and the LG 34GN850-B seemed to be the best among the gaming section. It is also 1440p, its 160hz, and g-sync compatible.
I have a NVidia card so anything that is g-sync compatible is fine with me. I am also upgrading from a 24inch 1080p 144hz monitor, TN display i think?  I have no bad things to say about the LG 34GN850-B. It seems like a very good monitor, and I might just get this instead.

My main question is. What is the difference between 2560x1440 and 3440x1440? Not to sound too much like an idiot, im not too techy in monitors / resolutions. If I hear 4k, sure i know. But that's all. My only guess is the 3440x is mainly because the screen is more lengthy? (Ultrawide)? Also, when it comes to these two resolutions. Does the ultrawide 3440x1440p have a better picture quality/display quality than the 2560x1440? Am I going to lose any quality by going Ultrawide rather than by going 2560x1440?

Lastly, this monitor is 1900R curve. Honestly, I purchased the samsung G7 and I did not like the curve at all. It was wayy to extreme. Will I also dislike the 1900R? I hear its not even that bad of a curve, almost flat-like. So I personally might not dislike the 1900R at least. I hope. xp

Thanks for anyone who replies ❤️

Didn't think that It would, i'm not that familiar with how it goes. lol. I was just going to put 2 of the 5 onto the cpu cooler, 2 in front, and 1 in back. No idea if the case fans that come with the case is good or not. in terms of it being loud or w/e.
mmm, I might still use it for a second PC. If I upgrade, I just need to buy myself a cheap gpu, psu, and case. lol. Then might sell or trade the whole thing. I don't know yet.
