Any article I look up on win 11 issues was release around launch, today win 11 is more stable for me than win 11 for my setup. Plus, it has features I can't live without, like win + z for a window snapping wizard and better HDR support.

Bad opinion maybe, but factually correct when taking account that games are, unless you have a 4090, gpu limited and having a degree or two difference from preapplied to custom applied applications makes zero difference in even CPU bound applications.

The only time the thermal paste application should be brought into question is when you’re over heating the part, because only then does it downclock and provide less performance in a desktop based scenario.

If I pour the paste and some chunky powder comes out, yeah not staying on the CPU.

But I've been surprised by the shelf life of even the cheap stuff, never hurts to pull out the tube and give it a shot.

Depends on the stuff, but as it's just a compound, it should be inert until placed in a situation that causes it to go through a physical/chemical transformation. I.E. heat and pressure from being used between the cpu and heatsink.

I've used stuff that's 10 years old and if it looks the same coming out of the tube as it did then, then it's good to be used now.

Forwards compatible in the sense that newer devices are backwards compatible with older routers, hence old router works on newer future devices.

Some devices like the ps4 have antennas and lan ports that are faster than than the OS allows them to run at. Software limited and not hardware, but yes, cheaper antennas will run at a lower speed and nothing will truly run at the speed it says on paper.

If you're having internet issues with your TV, I recommend getting a streaming stick over any solution to improve the wifi. The rabbit hole of usb wifi adapters and sony using 10mbps Ethernet ports on their TVs is one I really don't want to go down a second time.
At roughly the same cost of a network solution, the streaming stick will work faster, have better video, and solve the initial issue you have with the TV.

If you have other components and peripherals plugged in, it may reduce the bandwidth a slot is given. Check the manual to see the block diagram and which slots you have the stuff plugged into.

See if you can get faster ram, not a deal breaker, but 3600mhz ram is often at or slightly above 3200mhz, and it'll give a slight cpu performance bump.

Everything else checks out, thought eventually I'd swap out the Power Supply when you eventually upgrade the GPU.

You definitely could use an upgrade, nearly all devices released today are wifi6 and the router you have is wifi3.
That said, I do not know your budget and as a result can't make a recommendation for routers other than consider getting one that is at least wifi5, 1 generation old but still recent and cheap compared to newer wifi6e routers releasing today.

You can invest your whole budget into a GPU, then save up to upgrade everything else. Your PC is so old that literally no one thing that can be upgraded without upgrading everything else.

DO not use userbenchmark. Just stop using it, its not a good check on how your system is performing. The company has 0 credibility, they have a known bias and they skew their benchmarks on purpose.

If i had a security program i too would add it to the malicious program list as its just shit. Just go get 3dMark, Heaven bench, Or some of the many other ones that are actually useful and dont have any bias. Stop using this shitty site and program 🙂

I wouldnt be surprised if theres something in the download that got flagged, these companies like hiding crap in them, but its more then likely malwarebytes just flagging something it IDS as potential issue rather then a full issue.

Since you already assumed that I am telling you to go and buy it and that I have doxed you and know your adress... you can expect it to arrive either tomorrow or later.

As for alternatives, if you have NVIDIA card you may want to use FastSync which will add some input latency but the higher the FPS you have, the lower it will be.

Someone already suggested the “put PC’s in another room”. But there are some other options as well.

    1. Run PCs at a lower speed, less power means less heat. I literally lowered my room temps by dropping the brightness and refresh rate of my PC.

    2. Quarantine off PCs into corner close them off to the room. Obviously this is not optimal for your high powered devices and will reduce their lifespan, some devices can’t produce enough heat that they should be fine.

If you seal off your PC, make sure it can get fresh air. A lot of server rooms have direct access to the central air/hvac system.

I forgot to mention, don’t run a portable or indoor AC, they produce more heat except for the area right in from of the cold exhaust.

I should note that while your total throughput might be XXXmb/s speed, your usually never going to see close to that on individual sites at they might be getting throttled somewhere along the line to getting to you.

Essentially, I've seen them throttle anything that's not an internet speed test. But, at least your entire throughput should be what they say it is.

If you go to 192.168.100.1 you can get in to the modems diagnostic pages and look at the signals your self. I posted what to look for in the spoiler.
Frankly it could just be your on a congested node. If thats the case there is not much you can do. Outside of Enterprise internet services that have SLA's, Internet speed or quality is not guaranteed . You can look at your signals, and if they dont seem to look right you can file an FCC complaint and the ISP has 3 days to respond to you and that complaint or the FCC might have to act. They dont want the government getting involved.

I have Comcast cable and in the last two years I have noticed the internet has been degraded in quality, this is due to the higher usage numbers due to the pandemic. ISP's are kinda at the mercy of the chip shortage in the way they cant get equipment to do upgrades and the on going labor shortages are not help either.

As someone who works in geeksquad at the moment, I can confidently say you've got some amazing internet, possibly in the top 99%. That said a lot of the people I deal with have much more severe issues, and I can confirm that the ISP have a super lax definition on what a "all looked within parameters " is.

I personally use the same router and have had some issues recently, especially if there's a hiccup on the ISP side, which then my router goes for a field day.
