Hi everyone. I've had a Nikon D3200 for about five years now and have gotten a bunch of accessories over the time I've had it. One thing that has always bothered me though is the lack of a GPS receiver (I have a bit of an obsession with Geo-tagging my photos to the point where I go in afterwards and manually put in the information using Google Maps). I know Nikon has an official one (GP-N100), but I'm not really ready to spend $150 on what is essentially a convenience thing. I found one on Amazon $45 (https://www.amazon.com/Precision-Design-Adapter-Shutter-Release/dp/B005ESJ8MY ) and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this one (or knew of another one that was good for a reasonable price). Okay, I might want to consider the browns then because based on my use of my g15 I will probably be bottoming out the keys (it also helps that the brown version is on sale on amazon right now).

Okay, do you know if MX Browns having any audible feedback that is quieter than the blues?

I've been looking into buying a mechanical keyboard for a while now and think I would like MX Blues the best because I like the clicky sounds and care more about typing because I'm not really a competitive gamer. The only potential issue I can see is the level of noise of the keys, as I live in a house in close proximity to other people and don't want them wanting to kill me every time I go to type something. I'm currently using an old Logitech G15 keyboard (I think second gen, whichever one has the orange LCD screen) and am a fairly heavy typer to begin with if that is any comparison for noise levels, and am thinking about getting the Corsair K70 LUX keyboard. Also, if anyone knows a store where I could go to try typing on a mechanical keyboard in the Phoenix (AZ) area please let me know. Thank you for any help you can offer! Edit: Also, has anyone used the K70 with OSX (*cough* hackintosh *cough*)? I would assume they'd be compatible but I just wanted to check.

I play a mix of newer and older games. For older games I play stuff like FS9, Battlefront 2, Empire at War, SimCity 4 (all with lots of mods). For newer games, probably the most graphically intensive stuff I use (on my Macbook mainly) are Cities Skylines, Wargame Red Dragon, Star Wars TOR, and Stellaris (although that's more to do with me not wanting to play something my computer can barely run at 5fps, I would like to get into some more graphically intensive games like Just cause 3, Battlefront 2 (the new one), etc.)

I really like this one too ^ But honestly for gaming I'm used to a 2.9Ghz Pentium 4 single core with a ati radeon X300 SE, so either amd or intel will seem pretty fast for me.

I actually like that build a lot, but I am wary on the cpu side, since (correctly if I'm wrong) at least right now I've read that CPU clock speed is still better than number of cores (also, I saw the i5-7600k on amazon for just $199, and that's only $5 more than the Ryzan, assuming motherboard prices are similar between amd and intel

And I would like a bigger hard drive, I'd be fine with having a 1tb 7200 rpm hdd and then a small 128gb boot ssd

I would like to go to 1440p at some point (at least), I have a 24" monitor right now with a screen worse than my 13" laptop screen

Okay, and yah, it's mostly going to be gaming, the only content creation software I use is Photoshop, and that's not particularly demanding (I'm able to use it fine on my macbook).

I’d like some advice for building my first (custom) computer. I have a budget of at most around $1,200 (USD), but if I could go cheaper with as good of performance that would be nice too. I don’t need to buy a copy of Windows because I already have a license of Windows 10 that I can transfer over. I also don’t need a mouse, keyboard, or monitor because I have those already. I currently have a 1920x1200 monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 2443bwx), but I’d like to be able to have the option of upgrading to a better one in the future (also, because of the monitor, I need a DVI/DVI compatible port on the graphics card) For the most part I’d be using the computer mostly for games, and while everything doesn’t have to be ultra graphics, I’d like to be able to go on medium to high settings on games like Cities Skylines and Just Cause 3. I also play quite a few oldish games, so single core performance is important for me. I’ve been looking at the intel i5-7600k or i7-7700k, but I’m not sure if these would be overkill for the types of graphics cards I could afford with them. The graphics card is the thing that I’m most unsure about, I’ve been looking at Nvidia 1050 and 1060s because I know a little about them, but as far as AMD goes I’m clueless. For a case I think I’ve decided on the Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full tower (although originally I’d been looking to use the old case from my old dell dimension 4700 because it has some sentimental value (it was my first computer, and was a good distraction through some hard times), but from what I’ve read that would be a nightmare to complete). I don’t really care about rgb lighting, I don’t mind having it or not if everything else is the same. I would like to have a disk drive and a wifi adaptor (preferably one with an external antenna because the free wifi at my apartment doesn’t have the best strength). I would also like to be able to upgrade in the future if possible, and I don’t really care that much about noise from the computer. The reason I’m updating is because currently I’m using either a dell dimension 4700 from 2005, or a 2015 MacBook Pro (2.9Ghz, it was a gift, also where the windows copy is from), both of which aren’t exactly suited for modern graphically intensive games.
