  1. I'm interested in upgrading to a new 40 series or AMD 7000 series GPU. I have an Nvidia GPU currently. My main concern about going for the AMD GPU (7900XTX) is that is doesn't support CUDA, and some other technologies that Nvidia does. Some thing I may want to use in the future, that AMD may not have the tech to allow: I want to get experience with using Unreal Engine 5, is there anything AMD doesn't support that Nvidia does, and noticeably outperforms them in? How is blender performance with an AMD GPU? I don't do anything super complex, just editing some models for 3d printing occasionally, no rendering animations or anything like that. How does AMD do machine learning and AI? I've screwed around with stable diffusion recently, and I am not currently using or learning anything with AI or ML, but I don't want to lock myself out of that in the future. I heard that CUDA is the only real ML/AI platform that's being used, I might be wrong.

Check if your Geforce/Nvidia Experience is automatically optimizing your games Check what your Nvidia control panel settings are (right click on desktop, Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D settings) Make sure that even if your global settings are tuned to what you like, that also the specific game settings are applied. Sometimes when I put a global settings in 3D settings, 1-2 items are different from that and I have to manually change it. Use DDU to completely wipe your GPU drivers and reinstall them Monitor your RAM, CPU, GPU, and GPU VRAM usage and see if any one of them is being used to the max, your issue might be there. Use MSI afterburner or similar logging utility
  3. Huh. I completely forgot that the cost of coolant would be through the roof. I've bought gallium before it was fairly expensive for the small amount that I got.
  4. I have a Scythe Fuma 2, according to NZXTs website, this should fit(165 mm clearance vs 155 required). I am currently using it so cool my i7-9700K @ 1.365V and 4.7-4.8 GHz. I have been using my CPU to mine for a couple days now, and it only gets to 62C. I previously had a Cooler Master ML240(liquid cooler, 2x120mm fans) that died in only 1-2 years because air go in the pump. After that, i said screw it and just bought an air cooler since I don’t want to mess around with liquid cooling and it’s unreliability.

I was wondering if anybody had thought of the idea or if it would be feasible to make a liquid cooler setup, but instead of having water or whatever the typical mixture is, having a liquid metal running inside it. I don’t know if the pump could be able to handle it, but since metals have a far higher thermal conductivity than nonmetals, i think if it were to work it would be excellent
  6. I recently got a U14S to cool my 9700K after realizing my hyper 212 was reaching 100C after just playing League of Legends. The U14 keeps my 9700k at 70C when playing, but in a stress test it still reaches 100C after some time. It jumps from idle (mid 40C) to 86C instantly, then slowly climbs to 100C on all cores, increasing a degree every minute or so. I am using everything default in the U14, default fan and the paste they send with it. I have remounted the cooler to its bracket many times, redid the back plate three times, and still, there is no difference in temps from when i first installed it. I would expect the U14S to cool my 9700K to something reasonable at full load, like 85-90C, but I did not expect it to reach 100C. Is this normal? No overclock Now after having kept it for a week, and doing some research I found out the the Noctua U14S has a TDP of 220W,as per this site https://www.avadirect.com/NH-U14S-165mm-Height-220W-TDP-Copper-Aluminum-CPU-Cooler/Product/7719781 And finding out now that the 9700K has a full load draw of about 235W, this matches perfectly with my theory, but I remember somewhere that I rad that another person had a 9700K and the U14s and had good temps, cant remember exactly. Maybe he had better thermals paste? I just watched an old LTT vid saying the default noctua paste is good, but not the best. So is this cooler just underpowered for my 9700K? ATM its not overclocked but it previously could be OCd to 5Ghz without adding extra voltage, so i want to do that again. I am also wondering is the EVGA CLC 240 is an appropriate cooler, since i cant find a TDP or surface area of the cooler to compare. EDIT: turns out, “Auto” setting for VCore on my motherboard just meant “yeah 1.53V? Good.”Since auto was the default setting, i thought it would be fine. But auto just meant going from 1.1-1.53V deepening on how much load there was.
  7. from what i heard, the stock speeds are extremely close to the cap of the chips max freq, so OC will give very little extra prerformance
  8. Dont be too dissapointed when SLI causes edvery game to crash and works in 1-2/10 of the ones you play, and even then, not even double performance

  11. 16:9 -> 21:9 can be achieved by cropping the top and bottom of the 16:9 picture OR widening the horizontal picture. 2560x1080 (21:9) is literally just a wider 1920x1080 (16:9) And achieving wider ratios by cropping 8K footage (i assume that's what LTT is doing) is completely fine because neither techlinked nor techquickie need tall ratios. And even then, there are way more situations where a wider shot is more useful than a taller shot

  14. I tried to limit my refresh rate on my monitor to 60HZ, but that makes it feel even laggier than 80 FPS
  15. So the monitor is 100$ more, there is a smaller one that 70$ cheaper than the CPU. But if i get the CPU it NEEDS to be able to play the games at high settings. Thats all im concerned about or i just wasted 400$ for all intents and purposes has the same problem, not enough performance.
