  1. Oh, I haven't updated the bios, I'll try that in the morning! Thanks
  2. Heya everybody! So, I've got this server setup that I'm trying to add a gpu to, and it refuses to output video. I've tried 2 different kinds of risers (the gpu lock prevents it from fitting on the server board and i'd *really* rather not cut it off like a certain ltt video lol) and the onboard vga should be disabled. (switched the jumper from pins 1 and 2 to 2 and 3). The thing boots and makes all the appropriate noises, and the fans on the gpu spin up, but it doesn't actually output any video. Help please!
  3. How did it go? It looks like you can use setfsb too as long as you have ram that can be OCd
  4. I have actually seen that video! I saw it a few weeks ago, and it sent me spiraling into the depths of the internet trying to find out about this stuff, haha.
  5. Hey hey LTT forums, time for my first post! I was thinking of buying this motherboard http://www.ebay.com/itm/Supermicro-LGA-1366-Xeon-Tylersburg-Dual-Socket-DDR3-Server-Motherboard-X8DTU-F-/292264700002?epid=1600248763&hash=item440c556862:g:xuUAAOSwxflZw~wu for some ghetto budget rig with 2 x5650s or x5660s, but I have a few questions about it that maybe somebody can answer! So here goes. Question 1: Does this support a GPU? I mean it looks like it has a regular pcie slot but I could be wrong. Question 2: Ram? I know it has support for unbuffered 1333 but would regular gaming ram work? I've got some 1600mhz lying around. Question 3: Overclocking? (This one is the weirdest lol) So I know that the x58 xeons are unlocked, so the chip itself is totally overclockable. I also know that the Intel XTU program will work on a lot of things like dell or hp workstation boards that wouldn't normally support overclocking. What I don't know is whether or not it'll support a dual cpu motherboard. Alright, go forth and educate! Haha.
