I was wondering wether I could get away with a 2 cores 4 threads cpu for streaming 1080p30 video through obs from an ip camera. I suggested a minipc that we could bolt next to the audio mixer, set it up with peripherals and be done with it (they wanted to buy a laptop but connecting and disconnecting it every time sounded like a hassle, especially if we wanted something easy that anyone could do with a 5 minutes explanation). These are the options I found more interesting: An Intel i5 (5250u) 2c/4t mini pc for 300€, if we can make it work with this price it would be ideal. I'm just not sure wether 4 threads is enough for streaming, what do you guys think? A Ryzen 5 (2500u) 4c/8t mini pc for 500€, this would be the top price, I don't really wanna spend this much money, but I cant find a 4 core cpu under the 500 € mark. The 16gb of ram are overkill and I could get away with half the storage, as it's not going to be used for anything but streaming. An Intel i5 (7200u) 2c/4t mini pc for 350 €, this is a middle ground between the two, still not 4 cores So what do you guys think?

I can only suggest you try them one at a time in each slot, reset cmos and see if it always gives you the same error. If this doesnt work it's either not compatible with the motherboard (check compatibility in the manual, memory is weird) or the motherboard might be broken. Best of luck mate

yeah sounds like the problem is not the gpu or the gpu then, are you sure the ram stick are functional? Are they supported? did you seat them correctly?

Look for some kind of codes as modern mobos usually have some way of telling you what's going on, this one should have an led screen telling you codes. Does it light up? Do the fans spin? EDIT: actually it should have 4 debug lights near the 24 pin connector (cpu, dram, vga and boot) do they light up?

Just need it to encode and transmit. How many cores do I need? I was looking at a budget 3200g (even a used one) so I wouldn't have to integrate graphics. I was looking for an upgrade on my storage and I thought I might as well go for an NVMe ssd, as they are much more reasonably priced as of recently. Amazon suggested the 980 non pro version of its m.2 NVMe ssd which had very few reviews and lookes "slimmer" in the pictures. Now it's really hard to look for info on this product because they (shadily?) dropped the "evo" suffix from their consumer level ssd, so any google lookup yielded useless results about the 980 pro. I found this article from hexus and this one from pcgamesn. They removed DRAM. I loved samsung cause I could trust them to be top tier even on the consumer level products but this kinda disappointed me, do you guys think it's still worth it without the cache?

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a tp link mesh wifi (a deco e4 if it helps) in order to extend the range of my wifi router/modem combo. The set up was pretty easy since it was guided by the very accessible app that comes with the product. Now most devices in my home are connected to the mesh system (we even turned off the original wifi) except for my desktop that has an ethernet connection to the router. I've been playing around with the settings and came across one that specifies the operating mode for the network (see image): it can be set to router or access point mode. I originally set it up in router mode and it works fine but reading the description it actually seems like i should be using the access point option. What is the difference between the two and which one should I use? Thank you so much in advance

Hey guys! I'm hearing that I'm gonna have to update my old laptop (2010, still has some life left in it after I reconditioned it with an ssd) from win7 to win10. I'm having problems installing the OS: the bios doesnt seem to recognize USB as an interface it can boot from and my old sata optical drive (the one inside the laptop chassis) has kicked the bucket. Is there any way I can install the win10.iso without buying a new sata optical drive? btw I'd have a hard time connecting that anyway because the sata connector is inside the chassis Thanks for your help!

So my mom bought an ASUS zenfone 3 max whose battery connector on the logicboard broke after an year or so. I know it's not a great phone but if I could manage to repair it that would be great, anyway... I've been lucky enough to afford an rx 580, I plugged it into the monitor with hdmi , which I used to connect my old card to the monitor, everything works fine. I just set up my build: 2600x on a b450 mobo. When I open ryzenmaster the EDC (CPU) -I have no idea what it means- is in red or yellow always over 90%, sometimes as much as 98%, on mostly idle tasks. Is this a problem? If so, how can i fix it?

So while cleaning up my laptop I accidentally broke the ribbon cable (fcc 12 pin) that connected the touchpad to the motherboard. After installing a new one, bought from ebay, the computer wouldn't turn on. When removed, the pc starts up normally. Is the cable damaged? Why would something like that happen, aren't these cable standardized? Thank you for your help

I have no problem downloading, there's usually plenty of bandwidth (luckily) but when the download is done most torrent don't seed as much, sometimes staying very low in upload speed despite having a very good internet connection that could upload much faster. Why is that?

I want to switch to an ssd for my old laptop (and maybe I'll use the old hdd for backup or media storage). I also would like to be able to use the eSATA port on my pc, both for cloning the ssd (i'm not really into the idea of installing windows from scratch) and then reusing the hdd. The laptop only has usb 2.0 and I was hoping to be able to speed up the process a little bit. Do you guys know any 2.5" HDD case that uses esata connection? Thank you EDIT: looks like there's a difference between esata and esatap, mine is the latter (it's the one where you can plug in both esata and usb in the same port right?) I'm planning on buildin a ryzen sistem with a 1600x on a msi b350m mortar mobo. I know that there are usually problem with memory with the bios version the mobo ships with (i found a cheap corsair 16 gb single stick 3000 mhz and bought it, probably should have thought of incompatibility first) . I was wondering if it was possible to flash the bios without memory, just with a usb stick, on this particular motherboard or if there are any alternatives to this possible issue. I don't want to freak out too much when it won'tn't post basically. In case it is possible to flash it with just the usb, how would one go about to do so? Thank you very much
