  1. Hi (FX505D) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0812PFX36?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share my friend just got this laptop. He gets 50-150 fps on MINECRAFT with a 2060 Below 100 - 200 fps on csgo This doesn't make any sense all power settings prefer max performance and this is while the laptop is plugged in. tried reinstalling drivers from the laptop drivers area and also from nvidias website. No improvement from either of them. disabled windows game mode too, no effect. nvidia control panel > 3D settings > global settings is set to use high performance Nvidia processor. any tips / experience with the same issue? CPU hitting 75-85c under load GPU sits at 60-75c the laptop uses 16GB SINGLE channel RAM. Could this be causing a bottleneck or something since ryzen loves dual channel? I don't see why the bottleneck would be this insane though bnechmarks online seem to be normal for a 2060M
  2. My PC is almost 2 years old and it had been running fine up until a few months ago. I started having a weird coil whine problem about 6 months ago, the whine would suddenly spike and the PC would turn off, I rebuilt my PC and the problem was temporarily fixed. Then again a month later the problem re-appeared but pulling the 24pin back and holding it there seemed to stop the whine and fix it(yes, weird. I've never seen or heard about this). Then it worked fine till a couple months ago when I started having CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED BSODs. I (think) it was my graphics card. I swapped my 1080 with an accelero 4 on it with an rx570 and it worked fine for about a week. (Perfectly stable - no issues or crashes) Now yesterday my Ethernet connection suddenly went out (according to windows, nothing was connected), I checked the cables and made sure everything was connected and it was - so I naturally tried restarting the computer. My PC froze half way through the windows restart screen and I had to force reset it. After that it never turned on. The CPU debug LED is on a constant red. Won't change. I've tried restarting several times. Here's the stuff I've tested so far: 1. Removed 2nd ram stick and all unnecessary components (drives, audio, front panel headers and stuff) 2. Reseated everything. Including the CPU. (Twice - no bent pins or anything - 2700x) 3. Clear CMOS. Unplugged the battery, jumped the rtc reset headers. Repeated twice, no luck. 4. Tried booting everything out of the case just in case something is shorting it out - no luck The PC DOES turn on and light up. I've got no output. Specs: Rog strix x470i 7 2700x Trident z 32gb 2933mhz AMD 970pro 512gb WD blue 2TB Corsair SF 600 Ncase M1 RX 570 (was a 1080 prior to the BSODs) Anyway I can find out what's wrong? All the PC shops are closed cuz virus
  3. It was working fine for a few days and now it doesn't boot at all again . Specs: R7 2700x 1080 Asus turbo with accelero 4 Gskill trident z rgb 2733 32gb Rog strix x470i 970pro 500gb 2tb WD blue 2.5 inch Corsair sf600 Ncase m1
  4. yes it does. the pitch changes and is very faint even at idle but it gets really audible when under load. it randomly fixes itself sometimes somehow but always comes back, not sure why or how.
  5. I've been having this problem for a while. I have serious coil whine from my PC and I don't know where it's from. It's not a broken fan or hard drive or anything, probably the PSU or GPU. My PC doesn't boot sometimes after shutting it down and turning it on. It makes a really loud whining sound and then turns off. I don't know how it starts working again but it usually works after turning it off for a whiile and then turning it on again. It worked for a month without problems after I disassembled almost everything and put it back in. What could it be? Thanks Video of the coil whine:
  6. Would the r5 3600 work with a b450i or x470i board (specifically asus or gigabyte's variants) out of the box without a bios update?
  7. Update 2 lol now it works with the 570. I have an ncase m1 and the mains connects to an extension that connects to my PSU. After restarting my PSU using the power supply switch the coil whine is gone, I hadn't done this in months that could've been the cause. I am still not sure if everything is working but windows boots in fine. I'll use it for a while and update you guys.
  8. Yeah I can't rma it lol also I just tried an RX 570 and the coil whine is still there. Not sure what exactly is causing it. Any ideas? Doesn't boot up either + it coil whines before I even boot up the PC. Can it be the PSU? I have a Corsair sf600
  9. It's as if the power delivery system is damaged. Coil whine goes up when it displays the windows logo and when/if it boots in it goes blank a few seconds later. I'm going to try with my old graphics card.
  10. My video cards coil whine has been increasing over the last few weeks, I have a GTX 1080 Asus turbo with an accelero 4 on it. Today it was under load and it shut off. Now my PC tries to start up but half way through booting up it turns off, not exactly half way, most of the time it doesn't even turn on and when it does it turns off at some point through the boot process. I got it to get to windows just once. Is it dead? The coil whine is really audible and the pitch goes up and down randomly even at start up.
  11. you can try both slots, no harm in trying it won't burn or anything.
  12. I own a corsair m65 pro RGB. it randomly stopped working overnight. this is my support ticket to corsair: my m65pro rgb was working perfectly fine last night, today it randomly stopped working. After doing some research i found people saying that it might be stuck in bootloader mode. I've had the mouse for 7 months and its been perfectly fine till now, CUE does not detect anything, the mouse rgb doesnt light up and nothing works. i can see the laser light up on the sensor but its really dim. I've tried it on another PC and it doesn't work there too. under HID devices in device manager i see :Corsair composite virtual input device" it stays even after unplugging the mouse. windows does not make the device connected or disconnected sound either. thanks after a few emails back and forth, i got the instructions to hard reset the mouse, I'm posting this here so if anyone has a problem they can get it fixed without giving up and buying a new one(I've seen people have the same problem and then abandon the mouse). if your mouse does the same, please contact corsair support and you should have a fix for it pretty quick(you'll have to replace the firmware file through some steps). good luck note: I'm not a corsair employee. I'm just sharing my experience to help other people.
  13. the 500w can even handle a 1080 the 580 would be the best performing one, but i feel like that i3 might bottleneck all of those graphics card in SOME games a bit at high framrates, its not going to be a big bottleneck so its not that big of a deal please avoid using the generic psu even for the 1050.
  14. Hi is it possible to use a virtual machine for doing 1v1s allocating 2 cores to the vm? i have 2 graphics cards, can i assign one to the vm? i'm trying to do 1v1s in games. thanks for the help
