  1. So I have a data plan on my internet, so I really would like to avoid the cloud service. I could just buy multiple discs just in case cause there cheap.... But I still will have them on a hard drive
  2. I mean there data starts to degrade, not there physical state
  3. So I like to record my Discord audio that me and my friends talk in. I want to be able to just go back in years or decades to come to remember the awesome times we had playing games together. But I do know that Hard drives degrade overtime when unplugged and would need to restore them every couple of years. I know from what I have read that Normal DVDs and Blueray only last for about 4 years and normal Hard Drives last for around 6 years unplugged. I have backups on a hard drives right now and have another one in the mail for a second backup, but I wanted to know if this M-Disc was a option. The Discs are pretty expensive for about $3 a disc, but they say that it will last a very long time. I dunno, what do you think ,if not, what do you suggest? M-Disc- http://www.mdisc.com/corporate/
  4. Thats what I meant.... Just wanted to know if there were better ones than just those brands
  5. So I need to store video clips that I have for personal reasons. I currently am storing them on a Hard Drive. Now I want to be able to view these for years, maybe even decades. My main idea was a Hard drive. I know I would need to Format the drive and put everything back on it every like 2 years and such. Later on I would also move the files from Drive to Drive as well, such as moving it to a SSD for example down the road, and to what ever is new after that. What I really need to know is what Hard drive for right now is a good option? I want it to be around 500 GB and less. I will store the videos on different hard drives as I need so if anything was to happen to one drive, not everything would be lost. Also for bonus questions... I know file types will come and go, but do you think .wmv will be around much longer and should I compress my videos with Winrar, or will I not be able to access them without it?
  6. So I was thinking about getting a M.2 SSD... I looked at my motherboards book that it came with and there is a M.2 slot, but I want to boot from this drive as well. I wanted to know if anyone here knew that it can or not. Motherboard- Asus Z97-A
  7. For the 1080 FTW2- $579.99 on Amazon For the 1080 Hybrid- $599.99 on Amazon
  8. The EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid Gaming 8gb and the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW2 Gaming 8GB with ICX.... If thats what you wanted to know
  9. So I am going to be getting either the GTX 1080 Hybrid or the GTX 1080 FTW2. I been looking up on this, seeing if other people were debating getting it as well or not, but came up short. Just so you know, my room is pretty cold all the time, unless I leave my PC on for like 4 or 5 hours. My R9 380, which is what I am upgrading from dosent get hot at all, around 65c. I prefer getting the Hybrid, just for that little extra cooling. Now I dont plan to overclock etheir card, just what it comes with out of the box. I just want to know if its just better to get the FTW2 card or not. Also, will this pump in the card last only for like a couple years like AIO coolers for CPUs, and if so, can this card still safely run without the pump, if it was to break.
