  1. So I think I've fixed the stuttering, I didn't realise there was a further mobo update as I had to update from F29 to F31 then upgrade to F40 per gigabytes instructions. Anyway I noticed that some reason my XMP profile was on 3200 as soon as I disabled it it's been stutter free. My question is though having a profile set for the bios why would this be causing the stuttering! I knew it was RAM ffs.
  2. Hey all, So as title says all games I play freeze for 1-2 seconds then resume playing, sometimes it completely locks up and windows just restarts. My build is Monitor : AOC AGON271QG @ 144hz Mobo : Gigabyte AX370 Gaming 5 CPU : Ryzen 7 1700X GPU : Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX1080 Ram : G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3200 16GB PSU : Corsair 850CM Storage : Samsung EVO 850 250GB Storage : Seagate barracuda 7200 Here's my trouble shooting so far. 1. Clean Windows installation. 2. Updated Drivers. 3. Disabled Windows Defender 4. Using Ryzen power profile 5. Tested games for freeze on both hard drives both hard drives freeze, however it seems to be a longer freeze on the mechanical drive. 6. monitoring temps nothing is overheating CPU and GPU both around 60 degrees. 7. Problem happens on every game I play. 8. Updating Mobo bios to support XMP enabled to run at full speed still freezing. 9. Ive had this issue on another rig never got around to solving it though. 10. Nothing is overclocked and Memory has been tested with memtest full pass. Anyone suggest anything else it's doing my head in, all I can suggest this issue is hard drive lagg but surely that wouldn't be an issue on a SSD... I'm lost and I can't enjoy my PC games ?
  3. Hmmm interesting I'm just going to be sticking with 1080p and just going for a 144hz monitor thanks for all your replies.
  4. Oh awesome thats great news I really thought our CPU would struggle at 1440p. What kind of monitor do you have? How much fps do you get on your games?
  5. Exactly that's the plan I'm wanting to upgrade to this CPU : Ryzen 1700 Mobo : Asus B350 Gaming 3 Case : Thermaltake view 31 RGB RAM : Corsair Vengeance DDR4 16GB
  6. Why would I enable vsync on a Gsync monitor? And yes I'm going to go for 1440p resolution. There is always going to be a bottleneck and it should always be the GPU and not the CPU.
  7. Thanks for your replies, so if I get a 144hz monitor and Im only getting average fps of 80 would it stutter freeze or ghost at all this is my biggest concern. Also to note how would my CPU handle a bigger resolution would I need to upgrade to say something on the Ryzen line up?
  8. Hi all, So Ive been gaming for years and have always gamed at 1080p @ 60hz. My build is quite old 7 years old to be exact, I have recently upgraded my GPU to a 1070. My current rig is listed below. Mobo : Z68XP-UD3 CPU : i7 2600 non K GPU : 1070 GTX G1 Gaming Memory : Ripjaws G.Skill 16GB DDR3 @ 2133mhz PSU : Corsair TX850 I'm looking to upgrade to a 1440p @ 144hz, now from the benchmarks Ive seen on YouTube I'm only seeing around 70-80 fps. My question is at 1440p and only getting max of 70-80 fps is it a waste of money getting a monitor like that because I can't get 144fps? Cheers
