  1. My PC randomly restarts when playing GTA Online, Rust, or Cyberpunk (the only "intensive" games I've tested so far)

Error code 41 - power loss in event manager, during those random reboots, all the LED's and fans are still running. It's like a reset button is being triggered. "Normal" behavior in case of power problems I assumed

You would think, it's a PSU issue, right?

But, It passed a 2-hour Furmark stress test with browser + discord usage alongside.

And about 45 min full system stress test with Aida64, including CPU, FPU, CPU cache, RAM, Disks and GPU with power consumption significantly exceeding normal gaming power consumption by quite a lot

    Average power consumption when gaming:

    90 - 110w on CPU

    350 - 380w on GPU

Fans and AIO pump are on about 80%

Average power consumption during stress test:

    170-180w on CPU

    410w on GPU

Fans and AIO pump is maxed out

During summer, I have played Cyberpunk with 4K upscale. My system did shutdown like that once, but after a GPU driver update I've played for hours without a single issue (other than my room feeling more like an oven)

Side note, I did have issues with my LCD screen on GPU, and recently booted to Windows safe mode, DDU'ed drivers, to install a very old version of GPU driver from 2021, and after getting the LCD working updated back to the current version of gpu drivers. I also did a clean install of the recently released driver that came out on 12th of December

Side note x2. Played Rust a few days ago for about 8 hours straight, without any issues, but the very next morning, after about 20 min, it restarted again, I've ignored that and I continued playing for the rest of the day without any issues (about 6 - 7 more hours)

Also just did a fresh bios update, and tried setting a power limit on the GPU to 75%, now running with only 290-300w but still, 5 min in cyberpunk and it reboots.

At this point, I'm out of ideas, other than 3
1st - I'm still on Windows 10, sooo maybe compatibility issues?
2nd When fixing LCD panel, I re-installed a bunch of gigabyte bloatware, and currently don't have any of it, maybe it fucked with the power curve or similar?
3rd - My 2 year old PSU is dying?

    My specs:
    CPU: Ryzen9 7950x 5.7ghz (Stock)

GPU: AORUS GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12GB Extreme (Stock)

RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 32gb 2x16 48000mhz (EXPO not enabled)

    Board: Aorus X670E MASTER

    Cooler: NZXT Kraken z73

    Case: NZXT H700i

    PSU: NZXT C850

    HDD: 1x WD Gold 2TB 7200rpm 2x Seagate 2TB 7200rpm

    SSD: Samsung 980 EVO 512 GB - M.2

SSD: Intel Optane 32 GB - M.2 (don't ask why, I just run Rust directly from it xd)

+ 4 RGB fans 3 Non rgb fans and 4 led strips

All drivers are up-to-date, including the latest bios and GPU drivers and Windows updates.

By my calculations, 850w is tight, but enough for such a build, considering that I haven't had issues for the past 8 months with this system.

So the postcode display is blank and not showing codes or is it stuck at 00?

Blank postcode = socket related or power delivery related, have a p8z68 deluxe that had dirty vrms so when the vrms didnt wanna work the board had blank postcode and the cpu was cold when touched (though i dont reccomend taking off the heatsink and testing like that unless you either got a low power cpu or you can shut the thing off within a second or 2 usually via shutting the psu off with its power switch), though its fixed now after dunking it in water (ofc discharged first)

00 = cpu ded (exceedingly rare) or socket related, well usually but 00 can be caused by basically anything that makes the board completely non functional and not even try to post (does not include stuff like ram, thatd likely get stuck at a postcode like 20 or whatever postcode for no rams detected

If the cpu is cold then rma the board cause vrms problably defective

It's completely blank (not lit up)
I would doubt that it's dirty vrms, the board is less than 3 weeks old, and it did function 30 minutes prior to the disassembly of the cooler. Damm, have I really managed to damage the socket ...
Wouldn't damaged socket prevent from Q-Flashing the board thought?  (If CPU is completely removed, the board acts differently)

  3. So, I have upgraded my pc to a R9 7950x with Gigabyte X670E Aorus Master and Corsair 32gb (2x8) DDR5

During initial build/upgrade (2 weeks or so ago). I found that I have ran out of thermal paste. There was a bit left, but I didn't feel like it was enough, despite that I decided to apply what's left and buy some new thermal paste later.

PC worked fine, temps ware a *normal for that CPU* at 100% it was at 95c while boosting to 5.35 GHZ (Running with AIO), had some issues with AMD's EXPO mode, to get  RAM running at 5600mhz. After I have enabled it, It booted showing only 24gb instead of 32gb. After I did a reboot (It was long, around 5 - 15 min) and re-enabled EXPO, and it was working correctly at 5600mhz. (I did hear a low pitch noise from RAM sticks under load and sometimes in idle)

So a few days ago finally ordered well described Noctua NT-H2 paste.

It arrived yesterday, today I woke up, I booted up the PC for around 10 min and turned it off again. Waited for about 30 min for it to cool down (just in case). Removed the AIO cooler, cleared old thermal paste, applied new one, assembled everything back, turned it on, and immediately noticed that I didn't plug power & data cables for AIO Pump. Quickly powered off the system (it was running like that for less than 5 seconds).
Made sure everything is plugged in. Turned it on again, fans started spinning, everything looked normal, but there wasn't any post codes (I do not remember, if there was any during first "aborted" boot)
Onboard numeric display did not show any POST codes, and Q-LED was switching from DRAM to CPU for 1 second, every 10 - 20 secs. After a few minutes in this loop, it goes back to DRAM and stops switching.

I was careful when applying thermal paste,
I'm sure I did not over tightened the AIO,
I have tried using every single DRAM slot with both ram sticks, (except 1st one, AIO pipes covers it),
I have q-flashed the BIOS to latest version,
I have made sure all the connectors on RAM and ram slots are clear,
I have made sure all other connectors are connected properly,
I have tried using clear CMOS button & jumper,
I have tried unplugging the GPU,
I have tried booting completely without any ram sticks, (Same Q-LED indication as booting with ram).

I have pulled the board out of the case, and tried booting outside (Not sure what I was expecting, but yea..)
I have even gone to disassembling the board's backplate, to gain access to the CMOS battery, but the backplate have tones of thermal compound between it and the actual board, and I thought I might lose warranty if I started pulling that apart despite none of the screws having any "Void if removed" stickers.

Tried booting without any coolers attached, so I could feel the CPU, but it wasn't even warming up (I have touched it on the sides, and it was only running for less than 30 sec)

USB devices do light up, if trying to run the board completely without CPU, it doesn't even attempt to start.

I still think, it might be dead RAM. I did have problems with it, and I did hear low pitch noise when it was working, that noise was really noticeable when under load / stress testing. But I didn't think much of it, since DDR5 has a voltage controller thing on the actual stick that might have been emitting that noise

So, what should I do, other than going through RMA?
Or what have I done wrong, what could have possibly killed it?

P.s. This is way far from my first time upgrading components, replacing thermal paste etc... But never had anything similar.

  4. Whenever csgo is running in full-screen mode, (with custom resolution) everything is smooth and fps is above 700 on 3rd party death match servers and on Faceit etc...

But, if I open OBS on another monitor (not streaming just opened) it cuts the fps to 280 - 300 and adds minor stutters, and in-game fps can drop to 180.

When testing on "aim_botz" map for example, right after OBS is launched fps goes from 800-900 to 280-300 and in-game VAR jumps to 2 - 4
But! Only while playing on custom resolution (1920x1440), it does not cause any fps drops, stutters, or lags in native 1920x1080. But I need my custom resolution.

Similar behaviour sometimes happens (other application issues are not consistent) when playing and having something opened on another screen like Discord (with someone's screen demo opened) or a webpage with Faceit.
But only sometimes. I'm talking about a few game re-launches cycles and fps might be dropping because of Discord and another time because of Chrome

The following issue completely goes away, when running csgo at Full screen boardless or windowed, but that adds on input lag and game feels choppy

I feel like when the game enters the full screen, it caps itself to monitor's refresh rate of 280 despite G-Sync being turned off.
I have similar behaviour in Minecraft, in-game FPS does not go over 280 unless using OptiFine despite in-game V-Sync being turned off and G-Sync also being turned off in Nvidia control panel

    Hardware:
    R9 7950x
    RTX 3080 TI (OC)
    32gb DDR5 (5600) 2x16
CSGO is installed and runs on NVMe SSD
Main Monitor ASUS TUF VG279 280hz G-Sync (DisplayPort)
    2nd & 3rd monitors are Samsung C24F390 (HDMI)

    I have tried/made sure
G-Sync is disabled, both in Nvidia control (globally) panel & monitor config
    PhysX is set to GPU
Screen Scaling is set to Display not GPU
I have tried different launch settings for csgo
All drivers are up to date

Screenshot 1 - shows csgo with OBS running on the same screen as the game, and the fps is 600
Screenshot 2 - shows csgo with OBS running on the second screen, and the fps is 305

Please help, I'm out of ideas

Can you give linux a shot? See if its a hardware issue.

Is that comm port connected correctly? Some of those systems had a cable to connect the com port that might have came out.

I could, I also wanna check if COM port is actually enabled in BIOS, however I can't shutdown the system in near couple of days, since it's in middle of recovering files from failed nas drive and that thing goes really slow

Try using putty and trying all the com ports that are listed. Normally a device doesn't show up when connected, you just get a responce in the console.

Tried manually adding COM3 & COM9 (others just remove themselves after I've clicked add)
Still nothing, just getting an error out of Putty "Unable to open connection"

  7. I have i7 8700K, 32gb Ram 3000mhz, and recently purchased RTX 3080 Ti, with 850w psu and 1080p 144hz monitor, I know that 1080p monitor is a bottleneck for such gpu. (I will purchase 2K or 4K monitor when I finish moving to new house)
In Rust at 1080p I'm getting 20% - 35% GPU usage & 40% - 60% CPU usage as well as random frametime spikes, when I use DSR to get 2K resolution, GPU usage goes up to 40% - 60% and the game still stutters with random FPS swings from 50 to 80. When I'm at the beach, I get over 125+ FPS. GTA 5 also loads GPU around 40% at 1080p with really low fps around 50 - 67 in Online. Cyberpunk also never loads GPU more than 60% at 1080p ultra setting with RTX on. The only time I've seen GPU being used to 80% was at 4K in Rust.

I have never had any stutters with my old GPU (I had good old 1060), and I've tried uninstalling GPU drivers with UUD, but that did absolutely nothing with my issue

Benchmarks like FurMark loads GPU to 99% without any problems & the temps stays  at 70c

The only thing I haven't tried yet is clean windows install.

  8. Aorus RTX 3080 non TI "Extreme" card has bigger power limit as well as additional 8 pin connector then "Master" version card
And now I'm wondering what advantages do Aorus RTX 3080 TI "Extreme" has over "Master"?
Other than additional 60 Mhz of core clock, since the current difference between this cards are ~£250 and paying that much just for Aorus figure & +60mhz (which can be done manually) would be pretty stupid...

Like, does it overclock better, or is there better die's picked for extreme version? Since currently the only difference I can see is additional 60 Mhz & a Aorus figure thing

  9. So, I have restored an old LG TV "LG 32lh510u"On the manufacture website it says that it doesn't support DLNA file share.
Is there any  way I can cast video from my PC to that TV?
If not, why is there even a LAN port? It doesn't have any browser/YouTube/Netflix apps there.
Also in TV Network settings it says that TV is connected.
Pls help, I want to watch a movie and it's like 5 am for me now :/

I don't understand what the problem is... just select the correct resolution and don't worry about it..?

That's the problem. When correct resolution is selected "Active Signal Resolution" stays at 1080p witch makes monitor rescale the image and the end image quality is very bad.

  11. Hello, everyone! For past 4 days I've been searching every ware on internet to find a fix for my issue, i hope some one can help me here...

So, i have an old LG monitor i'ts native resolution is 1680x1050 at 60hz and when i'ts connected to PC via HDMI, GPU sees it's native resolution as "1080p, 1920x1080" but uses "1080p, 1680x1050". (See screenshot #1)
When you change resolution in windows,(doesn't mater witch one you chose) the resolution is chaining but "Active Signal Resolution" stays at 1920x1080. (Also at screenshot #1)

If you change the resolution to 1280x1024 in GPU Properties the "Active Signal Resolution" also changes to 1280x1024. (See screenshot #2) How can i make it do the same with it's native resolution 1680x1050?
Also, in NVIDIA Control Panel "Scaling" is set to "No Scaling".  (See screenshot #3)
And the most annoying thing, is that my other 2 monitors DO HAVE 1680x1050 as an option in NVIDIA Control Panel (See screenshot #4 and #5)
Also x2, when i use it via VGA, the native resolution is correct 1680x1050p 60hz but i don't have VGA on my main PC.

Please help! If you don't know the way to fix it please at least give your thoughts.
