  1. I see, thanks. The price difference is a bit too much, and I wanted to know if it is worth it or not. My final question is: I'm kind of suspicious about my RAM slots being the problem. However, if they were, would my PC even turn on? Could I have played a game for an hour straight? (It did mini-stutter from time to time, and crashed once but RAM could've caused that, not the slot)
  2. Yeah my projects aren't huge as well. So I feel like 32 GBs would be enough. Also, do you think there is a big difference between 3200mhz vs 3600mhz? Especially in gaming?
  3. I have looked at some render videos and it seems like there isn't much of a difference between 64 vs 32 gbs of RAM (render time wise).
  4. The RAMs I listed weren't available on MSI's compatibility list but they were on PCPartPicker's list so I'm gonna assume that most RAMs won't be a problem compatibility wise. The only remaining questions are: 32GB 3200 or 32GB 3600 or 64GB 3200 or 64GB 3600 You see, I don't know. I've heard that it helps with renders but I render videos at 1080p. I feel like 32GBs would be better compared to a 64GBs but I'm still not certain.
  5. Hello everyone, I have been using Crucial 64 GB DDR4 RAM (3200MHz, CL16, 1.35v) and everything has been going well since yesterday because I got a blue screen with the code "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT". Then I ran some tests (Memtest and the Windows one) and got errors. Today I decided to send the RAM to RMA and it seems like I'm gonna get my money back. Now I have to decide what RAM to buy and I wanted to get some advice on that. I usually use Adobe After Effects (not 4K but 1080p exports) and Adobe Illustrator for my work and I play games very often. My questions are: What type for RAM should I buy for a PC with an 8700k on a Z390-A PRO? Could 3600MHz bring even more problems with compatibility? Should I go down to 32GBs of RAM (with 3200MHz [or maybe 3600MHz])? (I feel like this is the way to go but I'm kind of concerned about lower performance compared to 64GBs) Are there huge performance differences between a 3200MHz and a 3600MHz? Should I risk a 3600MHz with my build? (to be honest, I wanna play it safe with 3200MHz since I was already using 3200MHz but I'm open to suggestions) I have been looking at these: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kXbkcf/gskill-ripjaws-v-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3200-cl16-memory-f4-3200c16d-32gvk https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nvjNnQ/gskill-ripjaws-v-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-f4-3600c18d-32gvk https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kmBhP6/gskill-ripjaws-v-64-gb-2-x-32-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-f4-3600c18d-64gvk
  6. Budget (including currency): 300$ Country: Turkey Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: After Effects, Media Encoder Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Existing parts: Intel Core i7 8700k (running at stock speed), G.SKILL Ripjaws V 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz C16 DDR4 RAM, ASUS TUF RTX 3070 Question: Previewing most 4K videos (even in Quarter quality) in After Effects is really slow and even rendering some of those videos take time in Media Encoder. I've already applied the tips that are given on YouTube, but doesn't improve the speeds. What part should I upgrade for faster preview/render times?
  7. Well I just installed the Scythe Fuma 2 and in the same game I'm getting around 55-60 degrees. This is crazy. Case fans will arrive today too, so they will decrease the temperature more.
  8. I really want to improve my case cooling. As of right now, it has one 120mm fan in the front as intake and 120mm in the rear as exhaust. I want to get 3 140mm fans: 2 for front, 1 for top as I cannot change the one in the back to a 140. The case doesn't support it. My question is: Would there be problems about pressure? I want my case pressure to be as balanced as possible. Any tips?
  9. Yeah and it does seem like it performs closer to NH-D15 too.
  10. Hot damn you read my mind lol Also: G.Skill RipJaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin SDRAM PC4-25600 DDR4 3200 CL16-18-18-38 1.35V Dual Channel Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GVKB at Amazon.com Would my RAMs block Noctua NH-D15's fans?
  11. I have changed my mind though. I want to start with improving my cooler + airflow. If that doesn't give the results I expect, I might go for delidding.
  12. I was a bit nervous when I started this thread because I was set to delidding. Changing coolers and improving airflow is easy. I'll do that, thanks everyone!
  13. What Noctua cooler would you recommend for a reasonable price?
  14. My cooler is Cooler Master Hyper 212X. I have reapplied paste (Kryonaut). My case is Corsair 270r. One fan in the front, one fan in the back.
  15. I have been getting around 80-85 degrees while gaming with my 8700k and I feel like it is time for delidding this CPU. I got it when it was released. I've seen the delidding tool, which I will get. With the delidding tool, things are easy. However, Do I need any precautions? What should I be aware of in the process of applying liquid metal? Does normal thermal paste work? How do I put the IHS back? What should I use to re-lid?
  16. No issues with memory diagnostics. Seems like the problem is solved and was caused by XMP'ing the RAM to 3200MHz. I will however overclock it to 2666MHz and try it that way since my CPU supports it.
  17. I have used XMP for a very long time (ever since I had this CPU), had no problems. I'll disable it and do a memory test. Will post it here.
  18. I had this one: VENGEANCE® LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 Memory Kit - Red (corsair.com) I also had issues with my motherboard earlier this year where I wanted to redo the thermal paste and I wanted to get the CPU out to clean it properly. While getting the CPU out (and I cleaned the paste off it before taking it out) the previously applied paste on the sides spilled on the pins on the board. I got it fixed through official MSI service in my country, so it works now.
  19. Hello, So in late June, I started getting blue screens and after searching for solutions, I realized that I needed to do few things to understand what it was about. One solution was to check for memory errors. I did both memtest and memory diagnostic error checks and both gave me errors. I decided to buy new RAM in hopes of solving the issue. I did memory tests on new RAM sticks when I first got them and there were no issues so I thought that the problem was solved. However, just recently and again, my games have been crashing frequently after around 15 minutes of play and I did memory check again on my new RAMs and it gives me errors. I have a feeling on why this is happening but I'm not sure if that is why. I upgraded my internet recently and they gave me a new modem. While installing it, I accidentally turned off the outlet where my PC was plugged in and during that, my PC was on. So is it possible if my motherboard has been damaged? I can use the PC just fine without gaming but playing games is not possible to a certain point. Especially the fact that my new RAM sticks are giving errors after a while, I feel like motherboard is having problems. What do you guys think? My specs are: Motherboard: MSI Z390-A PRO CPU: Intel Core i7 8700k GPU: ASUS TUF 3070 RAM: G.SKILL RipjawsV 8x2: 16GB RAM @ 3200MHz (XMP is on) PSU: Corsair TX750M EDIT: I also had issues with my motherboard earlier this year where I wanted to redo the thermal paste and I wanted to get the CPU out to clean it properly. While getting the CPU out (and I cleaned the paste off it before taking it out) the previously applied paste on the sides of the CPU spilled on the pins on the board. I got it fixed by sending it to the official MSI service in my country, so it works now.
  20. Well I said it about "majority of people", so are majority of people NVIDIA fanboys? If it's a business then why would NVIDIA keep releasing GPUs if they can't profit from it through people buying them?
  21. Why are they doing a refresh of a series so soon while the majority of people can't even get their hands on the normal versions to begin with?
  22. I have checked the PSU, no coil whines there. I've done some test on 3DMark and didn't hear any coil whine during the tests so I guess I should use the card a bit more because I feel like its going to go away at some point. I also don't hear the coil whine when my I put on the headset.
