  1. For productivity I would have a Ryzen 7 1800X or you can downgrade something else and squeeze in a Threadripper. Much better than the i7-8700K.
  2. I remembered when mobos still have integrated graphics onboard, instead of dedicated/onboard CPUs. The problem is that if they are broken or the users want to upgrade it, they would have to be repaired complicatedly or need to buy another mobo.
  3. Try to OC your GPU or set the fan speed higher.
  4. It's all perfectly fine. I don't know if you need to upgrade anything.
  5. Can u possibly get a 1050Ti? Edit: Bad idea. After checking the prices again, the 1050 2GB is enough.
  6. Ryzens are very good in terms of value now compare to Intel. Their R7 1800X just dropped in price (8C/16T for $350). They are excellent chips for content creation. If you just want to games, then buy a i5-8400 or sthing like that. But I would highly recommend waiting for Ryzen 2, and B/H 300 series mobo for Intel. Don't upgrade your GPU just yet, the R9 290X can still able to hold up for 1-2 years, Nvidia Volta is coming.
  7. H=Budget/Home/Consumer (OC RAM) B=Business (No OC at all) Z=High End/Gaming (Overclockable)
  8. In the future (it depends), you will need to upgrade the 750Ti for sure. We're just saying that for now, this is a really good card for your price.
  9. So I'm using an old AF laptop from my dad. It's a Sony Vaio (forgot the model number) CPU: Intel Core i5-540M @2.53GHz GPU: Nvidia Geforce GT 320M RAM: 4Gb DDR3 OS: Windows XP Professional SP3 I tried to updates my GPU drivers to the newest. But all I got is the message " NVIDIA Installer cannot continue. This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." I tried lots of different drivers, 266.58, 307.83 and 340.52. Got the same message every time. Any help?
  10. The only big difference is only in the manufacture process (28nm vs 16nm). Otherwise, nothing new
  11. I think we all agree that the GTX 750Ti is the way to go. You might want to consider the warranty because your 750ti is a used one
  12. Nah Nvidia is still going to support the 700 series card for quite a while
  13. No you can't have a 2gb module and a 4gb module in the same mobo.
  14. What I mean is that, if this thing is using a desktop 8700K, it should mean that the laptop is using a desktop motherboard. So if in the case the CPU fails, can I swap it out?
  15. So I saw that the Sager NP9155 is using a desktop i7-8700K. I'm just wondering, can I possibly upgrade that CPU later, and if yes, how? Is it just like replacing a normal desktop CPU?
  16. If you still want to have a GTX 1060 but an i5-7300HQ, and 8GB of RAM then this could be one of ur options: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0764HW117/ref=psdc_13896615011_t1_B06Y4GZS9C
  17. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-i7-7700HQ-1060-6GB-G3-571-77QK/dp/B06Y4GZS9C
  18. Can u put in another $50? Because at $1050 you can buy a Predator Helios 300 with a i7-7700HQ, GTX 1060 6GB and 16GB of RAM. Best bang for money.
  19. Why not upgrade the GTX 970 to sthing like a GTX 1060?
  20. Honestly u don't need 32gb of RAM tho. Otherwise is fine.
  21. Personally I wouldn't spend that much on a mobo. There are a lot of cheaper X370 mobo out there.
