    pcie lanes

could I disable several cores so it will work better? I'm currently using a i7 6700. while live streaming cpu usage doesn't go above 20%. My current motherboard only has one pcie slot so I cant try the quad links on that pc.

Threadripper 2970WX do you know what issues I would run into with this?

asrock taichi x399 is what I was planning on using. I am not using it for gaming. Im building this computer for live events and the cameras have sdi outputs so no conversion is necessary. list of parts i was planning https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rKVmbh

    pcie lanes

I am building this computer because the existing one does not have enough pcie slots for the 2 quad links. I am unsure if the quad links require 8x but on the spec sheet thats the only info I have on pcie. I was planning to go TR 1900x because I dont need much cpu power for the programs I run. heres the part list https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rKVmbh

    pcie lanes

I am building a pc for live streaming events. I will have a total of 15 cameras in and 1 video feed out using 2 quad link 2. At this time with the way gpus are the only card I have is a 970 for encoding purposes. my concern is that while running all the cameras and gpu at the same time the lack of pcie lanes of a normal cpu will cause issues. I plan on using a 2.5 ssd not a m.2. should I go with a threadripper so that I have enough lanes? quad link 2 -- 8x lanes quad link 2 -- 8x lanes 970 -- 16x lanes chipset -- 4x lanes? (unsure) total pcie lanes 36 link to the quad link 2 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1186263-REG/blackmagic_design_bdlkdvqd2_decklink_quad_2_8_channel.html
  7. So I have a thermotake core p3 case that I can fit one 360 or 420 radiator in. I have a 9900k that has an all Court overclock to 5 GHz and I just got a 3090. currently have a custom loop for my 9900k with a 240. I was wondering if a 360 or a 420 doesn't matter how thick of a radiator could support both of those components or what I need more radiator somehow.
  8. So I have changed everything to legacy mode and it still does not work
  9. So I bought was drives and sas controller and raid card (LSI Logic SAS9260-8I) so I could connect it to my motherboard (gigabyte ga-x79-Ud3 v1.0.). I have updated the bios to the newest version. I have on windows installed the controller program. This is where the problem is to install the bios for the raid card it needs to go through the internet. I turn on the computer and it immediately goes to the raid drive initiation. Then it request what to do I put in the command control h (web bios) then a message pops up drives controlled by bios switches to my bios splash screen then freezes. I have removed the card changed everything I know that deals with boot and drives in the bios. Still the same thing. My only thought is to remove the card get into windows install the card then use device manager install the driver.
  10. I'm going to wait until September and then decide from there. Thank you both for your quick response
  11. I have a i5 8400 with Asus z370 strix-e motherboard. I would like to upgrade so I can stream mostly my Xbox but also jackbox games. Should I get a i7 or i9 that works with my motherboard or just go to amd?
  12. No it's a package deal. So I can't split it up. I guess I go with the 970 and see which one of better and sell the other. Thank you for the quick reply.
  13. No the guy is selling 2 gtx 970 and a sli bridge for 140
