  1. My favorite thing would be the customizable bottom buttons. Hate switching to a new phone and having a different layout for those.
  2. Yes. How is that even relevant to the question?
  3. I'm looking at buying a new laptop and am considering one from System76. I found one of theirs that fits my needs perfectly, but I've heard mixed things about them and can't find a ton online. Has anyone had experience with them, and was it good/bad?
  4. So, I started having this problem a few days ago. Programs, most notably games, automatically tab out randomly. This happens anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes apart. It happens when using other things such as my browser as well, but it's less noticeable as it just deselects the window. Several of the times it has happened I've gotten an error that "vrserver.exe" has stopped running. Googling this, it doesn't seem to be anything harmful, but I couldn't find anyone having a problem like mine. Most of the time, however, no error shows. I've done somewhat extensive research of this and haven't found anyone with exactly the same problem. I've tried running multiple AV scans, MBAM found a few items that seemed like false positives, but I deleted anyways. Used CCleaner to clean my registry. Tried closing all unnecessary programs while running the game. Currently the only way I've found to sort of fix this is to run games in borderless windowed, in which case they're deselected instead of tabbed out of/minimized, but it's a temporary solution at best. If anyone has had this problem before and knows how to fix it, or if you have any ideas, I'd really appreciate the help. Specs: Windows 7 64-bit i5 2500k (non-overclocked) 8GB 1333MHz RAM GeForce GTX 770 1TB 7200RPM HDD
  5. Tried it, no difference. Really no idea what could be causing this, as it worked fine before, and I don't think I've changed anything that would affect it.
  6. Nope. Not something I'd ideally do, but I'll try it just to test. Also, could different connection methods cause a problem? I'm using DVI for the 60hz one, and display port for the 144hz
  7. Tested with both at 60hz. Game stutters just as bad if not worse with video playing on second monitor.
  8. Was already running the latest nvidia drivers. Do I need to update anything else? (Also will test setting both to 60hz)
  9. Might be worth noting that I did this with no problem previously, but that was using two 60hz monitors.
  10. Tried it. With video running my GPU uses around 65% of its VRAM, pause it and it goes to around 47% and the game runs much smoother. I feel it has more to do with the varying refresh rates than the VRAM.
  11. I haven't checked, although I will next time I play something. I've mainly been playing CS:GO and attempting to watch youtube videos while playing, have a 770 with 2gb vram, don't think it's a problem, but worth looking into.
  12. So, a few days ago I purchased a 144hz monitor (BenQ XL2420TE), and since then have been running it as my primary monitor with my old Asus 1080p 60hz monitor as a seconday. It's been great so far, aside from one issue. I've found that when I'm playing a game on my primary monitor and start watching a video on my secondary monitor (youtube, twitch, local files all the same) the game I'm playing starts having severe frame stuttering issues. My framerate drops 20-30fps, still 100+ most of the time but looks far worse than 60 when it stutters. If I alt tab and pause the video, the game returns to normal. I'm sure my computer can handle this, have a 2500k, 8gb ram, and a GTX 770, so is this a problem that always occurs when using two different refresh rates? Is there any way to fix this?
  13. Thinking about just buying one at $370, as it's not selling at as many places in general, and if they're phasing it out for something else I'd like to be able to get one before then. Any opinions?
  14. The 2420TE and VG248QE are compared quite a bit, and I've read a good bit about them. Asus advantages: G-Sync upgrade kit soon-ish, price. BenQ advantages: less eye strain, better color depth, better light boost implementation. I'd much prefer the BenQ out of the two.
  15. Oh. Well I haven't heard anything about the 2420TE getting any kind of G-Sync support, and doubt it's going to.
