  1. Here's my problem, I'm 17 and was gonna build my first PC as soon as I turned 18 and got access to my other bank account. But that's still 11 months away and I don't wanna blow any more money on this bich. Is a 30$ GT 1030 worth it?
  2. Thing is I'm not even sure. This PC is like 6 yo and I got it used with 3 years (it's my first PC). When I tried to see the PSU all I could see it was 500W but I don't trust it to run any GPU. It's from a brand I've never seen before. Halfmman. http://www.halfmman.com/
  3. Yeah plus even if I wanted to get a nice GPU my PSU wouldn't be able to handle it
  4. Too bad I got it used and the seller stoped answering my texts. Plus there's nothing the platform can do. Sucks to live in my country
  5. So I got scammed and bought a really weird GPU. Apparently it's an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M that ASUS got and sticked it into a PCIE card with an HDMI and VGA ports. They used it in their prebuilt systmes. It's described in full detail here: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/835172-could-someone-please-fuig-explain-this/?page=2 It doesn't have a power connector and runs completly off the power that the PCIE slot supplies it. I can go into my Desktop but my monitor resolution isn't available to select. I haven't tried gaming yet for that reason. Now I read on this site that in probably only runs on their prebuilt systems due to some strange reason and I was thinking if there was a way to getting it working since I don't have any more money to buy a new GPU abd given that the card doesn't accept neither the 950 or 950M drivers from NVIDIA's website. https://forum.hardware.fr/hfr/Hardware/2D-3D/drivers-950m-fonctionne-sujet_1018650_1.htm (Use Google Translate in Google Chrome to read it.) (Thx Gewgul <3) So I saw that video with Linus getting a modded driver and getting that mining 1060 working and I was wondering if something like that is possible here. If there's any tech genie that has any knowledge on how to get it to work that'd be great. Thanks.
  6. So my mouse, which is a Staples Optical Gaming Mouse 25689, has been working well until it's started to fail clicks this week. I asked my brother who plays Total War and CSGO which both are games that envolve lot's of clicks and he said that he hadn't noted anything. This is very weird. If I unplug and plug back in the mouse on the same USB port on my PC it works fine for like 15 mins but then starts to fail clicks. It works perfectly on my brothers user but is failing in mine's. Unfortunatly I've been digging around and it could be a sign of malware and as a poor PC gamer sometimes I have to resort to the more shady part of the web... and I suspect it may be a case of virus. Windows Defender hasn't told me anything and I haven't got a third party Anti-Virus. What do I do now? Is it really malware or is it just some config messup? All your help is welcome. Yours Juim1j. Edit: I only download from Skidrow Reloaded which has been flagged as a good website for pirated content and no malware but you know you can never be sure. http://skidrowreloaded.com
  7. Just a quick question, how to do you create a poll on a thread?
  8. Just wanted to thank everyone for posting so fast on my topic, and thanks for all of your awesome comments and tips! Im going to bed but I hope you guys keep helping me, thanks a whole bunch!
  9. @valdyrgramr Why did you change the keyboard, yours is way more expensive
  10. @valdyrgramr @OphidioOkay for people asking me about the PSU, I initially choose a 500W PSU but after adding all the components into the PSU calculater they suggested me this 850W PSU.
  11. Alright this is my first post here at the forums, I've been a fan of LTT for about a year and I really have learned a lot from the gang, so i wanted to put my knowledge to the test and get some help from you guys to build my PC. Very Important: NO MATTER WHAT I SAY BELOW, THE SYSTEM MUST BE THE BEST BANG FOR BUCK AS POSSIBLE, I MEAN IT! My current rig is just SH!T, and I really need a specific build with the following requirements: Must be able to run AAA games at 1080p at 144Hz with concistency (preferbly even online). Must be able to record and edit 1080p at 60Hz content for YT and Twitch. Must be able to be future proof for at least the next 6 years (now that's a challenging one I know). Must be able to do nice 3D models in Blender and such. MUST have the Best BANG for BUCK as possible. Now with the parts requirements: Keyboard must be mechanical. Mouse must have at least 5 macros. Headphones must have 7.1 surround sound capabilities. Would be nice if the monitor is curved. So I actually have manufacturer prefrences for certain parts of the PC such as: Motherboard: ASUS CPU: Intel Core CPU Cooler: Cooler Master or Noctua Video Card (GPU): NVidia RAM: Corsair or G.Skill Case: Any good case, preferbly Full ATX from a trusted manufacturer and a very good front panel Stoorage and such I got covered for my own needs. Any other parts I'm ok with going with any manufacturer. Here's my build so far, please disregard the accessories: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Qd9Nd6 Thanks and have fun!
