  1. Which is the lightest? Home?
  2. Friend of mine will be getting a laptop with 3500U. I'll be installing OS for her and I wonder if LTSC will be worth it. I'm familliar with the process and (most) of the advantages/disadvantages of if as I'm using it with my R5 1600 since LTSC was out. Let's not turn the disscusion about how I'll be getting the OS, she is aware how, you are aware how, but aren't allowed to talk about it here or how LTSC isn't recommended for average person, no linux vs windows either, etc. As far as I know 3rd gen Ryzen isn't officially supported. Should I take the risk of possible future problems(I guess with drivers) with LTSC or install her another version(if so which is least annoying)? She doesn't play games and doesn't want to be annoyed by updates, so does the 1903+ scheduler outweight that? I know LTSC is getting security updates, but they aren't annoying and take seconds to complete. Also they don't break stuff like when 1809 was deleting user files (atleast LTSC doesn't do it despite being based on same version).
  3. Ok thanks a lot, I didn't even think about something like cloning, sounds good.
  4. Yeah but I have only 64GB usb drive, that's why I was thinking about using the SSD for the transfer before installing it. Also forgot to mention, once files are on the PC, I don't need to transfer them on the laptop again.
  5. I want to change my laptop's HDD with a SSD. However I have some concerns of the process, mainly backuping the data from the laptop. What is the best way to do it? I'm thinking about using the SATA to USB enclosure that I have to transfer data from laptop to the SSD, then from the SSD to my pc (1). Or can I use the enclosure to directly transfer from laptop's HDD to the PC (2)? I guess (1) is a bit safer in terms of data loss and probably will work better. However I still have some questions: Should I format the SSD before transfering data to it, or its factory formated? This is a dumb one, but once in the enclosure, the SSD/HDD is basically a huge USB "flash" drive, I can use on both the PC and the laptop for anything, besides boot drive? If I use (1) and transfer everything to my PC( everything from laptop is backuped) do I need to format the SSD or I can just install it in the laptop and put on OS? Once everything is done and I format the HDD to use it for an external one, do I need to defragment it?
  6. I'm too lazy to reinstall windows and I doubt MS will help me, considering how I got these versions of windows.
  7. I'm trying to use my laptop as a second monitor. Also its not business pc, its mine, I just got these versions.. somewhere... because they don't have useless things(for me) like store, cortana, etc.
  8. I don't have the "Projecting to this PC" option in my settings (Settings > System > Projecting to this PC) or in action center I tried to enable it with GP(group policy) and RE(registry editor), but it didn't work. My PC has a wi-fi+bluetooth card (intel 9260), which supports miracast. Why is the option missing then? Same for my laptop, I'm not sure about its adapter number, its a broadcom one, but also supports miracast. For some reason I don't get the "Projecting to this PC" option on either one. The PC is on LTSC 1809 and the laptop is on LTSB 1607 if that matters, also drivers are up-to-date, I've tried reinstalling them already. I've tried everything I found to make sure my devices support projecting to wireless display: netsh wlan show drivers - Wireless Display Supported: Yes (Graphics Driver: Yes, Wi-Fi Driver: Yes) on both of them. dxdiag - Miracast: Available, with HDCP Could that be problem of LTSB/C?
  9. Wait, its about wireless display, no? Why do I need hdmi in this case?
  10. I want to use my old laptop as second monitor for my PC. Yes, the PC does have a wi-fi+bluetooth card (intel 9260), which supports miracast. I'm not sure for the laptop adapter number, its a broadcom one, but it also supports miracast. I've tried both "netsh wlan show drivers" and dxdiag to make sure. But for some reason I don't get the "Project to this PC" option on either one. The PC is on LTSC 1809 and the laptop is on LTSB 1607 if that matters, also drivers are up-to-date.
  11. Which one though, by Jays2Kings/Ryochan7 or the other one?
  12. So I was googling about how to use PS4 (DS4) controller on PC and found some things but its a bit confsing. At first there was something called "DS4tool" that turned into "DS4Windows". However, seems like there are 2 programs by different people called "DS4Windows" and the one of them made a new version of it called "Input Mapper". What am I supposed to use ? Input Mapper DS4Windows (updated to IM) DS4Windows by Jays2Kings Seems like this Jays2Kings guy doesn't update anymore, however someone else updates his program: DS4Windows by Ryochan7 Which of them works best? Which has least impact on performance?
  13. My laptop does have 3.0 ports, but it doesn't matter much, as I said I'll be using the HDD that's currently inside the laptop as external HDD for PC(desktop). Yes, that's why I asked here how things work, powerwise atleast. Also that's the reason I looked at ugreen, I guess there is a reason to be twice more expensive than the other one, hopefully its not because of the branding. I don't know how much I can trust them, but I've seen them before, so I guess a brand is better than generic. And yes I'm not from US, that's why I look at ebay. Anyway, thanks for the info, I guess I'll have to trust this ugreen brand, even found a review of this enclosure on youtube.
  14. The stuff you're talking about is correct but its a bit messed up (or maybe I messed up). I've talked about the products after I listed them, not before. The 3.9$ doesn't have 12V adapter included, the 4.7$ does.
  15. I want to get an SSD for my laptop and use it's current HDD as external HDD for my PC. I did some googling and now I have more questions than answers. Also sorry if links are not permitted, I'll take them down if needed. I'm wondering if I should go with the cheapest of these: USB 2.0 x 2 To SATA External HDD Converter Cable - 2.60 $ This has 2 usb ports for extra power I guess, but is it enough? 5x2 = 10V, while the one below is 12. USB 3.0 to 2.5" SATA SSD HDD Adapter Cable Converter Wire - 4.70$ This has a 12V 2A power adapter. USB 3.0 To 2.5" SATA Hard Drive Adapter Cable - 3.90$ How this one even works with single USB cable? USB 3.0 External 2.5" SATA HDD Enclosure Case - 6.70$ That's probably the cheapest enclosure I found, I have the same question as above, how it works with single cable? Maybe the circuit board does something? Or should I got with this "premium" chinese option? 2.5" USB 3.0 SATA HDD External Case(type C on the enclosure) - 13.50$ tl;dr - Assuming they all work properly, is there any functional or perfomance difference?
