  1. i truly love how deraild, childish and truly uninformative this thread has gotten... its even worse than the OC.net thread on the same topic. but people need too realize that there are close to no information about the 300 series from AMD. all the FACTS that WCCF are using in their artical is a shipping record and that shipping record stats "Cooler Master Heatsink" not AIO or water cooling.... we have abselutly none information on how many SPs that are on the die, or how many CUs, Rops, vram or anything else. we cant even be sure that AMD will be using HBM as there are zero evidence. the only thing that is know is that its coming ann graphics card, soon. and here is a link to all the roumors, facts and suchs on videocardz http://videocardz.com/54727/amd-radeon-r9-300-series-rumors
  2. i would most definatly upgrade my rig to acomidate such a beaty
  3. congratz with 1 million linus =D this is the best tech channel on youtube, keep the good work up =D
  4. i'm trying to still keep my hopes up, but..... the source for this is actully a thread on Overclock.net... made my Seronx http://www.overclock.net/t/1488641/next-r9-r7-graphics-to-use-hbm just to clarify the article on videocardz is based on the article on wccftech, that is based on the thread. the two other sources kinda state the same as him, that there will be stacked memory in the next series of cards, but no mention of release of the next generation of cards or for that sake a new hawaii. while i still hope for this, as that would most likely mean that addaptive sync and a new series would launce at the same time, that could be likely, but still hawaii realy is'nt old, its verry new even in tech standards. and i will just post the link to the post on overclock.net about this as i actully diden't understand it well enough to actully be able to explain it but, the 290x is the full fleged chip. again a post by Seronx, http://www.overclock.net/t/1488964/vc-amd-to-launch-new-flagship-radeon-graphics-card-this-summer/20 while it suckes that this might not happend, Seronx REALLY need to make more posts like the first one, because this might be sad.... its also HILLAROIUS
  5. Sorry to rain on your parade here, but there have allready been about 200 pages of this discussion on Overclock.net and the simple conclusion, this monitor cannot be made with IPS. IPS is just to poor for a proper 120hz or 144hz (this is actully a 144hz, but as of now capped because of bandwith issues). asus stated that they could throw all the money they wanted at this monitor, but it could not have been made with IPS. as for the koreans, the color quality of those monitors when overclock is pooooorrr. really it is. this is the best GAMING monitor we will se in a while. g-sync, fast respons times, most likely the best TN panel to date, high res, high refresh rates. and 3D if you care, maby even the first 1440p 3d monitor. and verry verry thin bezels. and to that hole TN vs IPS/PLS debate, a proper TN panel will always be better for gaming. IPS is just not responsive enough and while this might not matter in games like skyrim it's still great to have when you switch over to a FPS. this will most likely be a extremly good TN panel with 8/10 bit panel (if i'm not mistaken its a 8bit panel, but it reconizes 10bit) good colors, great contrast and black levels. it might fall abit short in color over a verry good IPS panel, but that tradeoff is worth it. and just a soo everyone know this is based on the few people that have seen this at CES, if i'm not mistaken linus saw this when he did the g-sync video at CES soo maby he has some inputs?
  6. well i'm not suprised. what i hope people understand is that the game that was shown at E3 was "mess". it was not in any way finished and was more or less staged to get a trailer out. ofcours they don't know what the ps3/ps4 will mange at that point. a WHOLE lot is left in that stage, like optimalization and setting graphics. i don't rember who said it, but it was a great point. when they make a game they make it look awsome, but if their hardware can't take it they just add a better GPU another GPU soo the game will look awsome. thats what happend at E3, it's not like a PS3 or PS4 will be anywhere near a gtx 680 sli build, and to get the framerates needed they have to set the graphics down. while i don't agree whit this way of marketing it's happening because we want to know soo much of the fututre games and they then show us a unfinishd product that have been polished as hell to make it look good for a while. if you know norwegian, Levelup, a videogame show on Vgtv had a great comment on this =D
  7. well sort off, and sort off not. as AMD have higher clocks to begin with (atleast if you count out gpu boost and powertune) they will crush nvidia, so that is also a flawd method. as Linus has pointed out a few times in these sort of videos is that they do these benchmarks diffrent just soo that you don't read the exactly same review over and over again as this differs. and while i can agree that most user won't overclock to much, i would say that those that own a 290 or above at both green and red team are more frequent to overclock as they most likely know a bit more when they are willing to use that much on a GPU. but then again not all of those, or most likely the majority of the oweners of top tier cards won't overclock either soo who knows =D personally i would love to see benchmarks that go at a fixed clock. for example 1000mhz for both cards soo that you see the diffrance in arkitechture and such. and by know that you can get try to see whats regular to get out of overclocking the cards and combining these when buying a cards sort off =D but by all means this is just as much, if not more, flawed as the methoeds above. especily when GPU boost and such came into the picture. Edit: well just read through that again, it's painfully many mistakes, but iu will stick to the classic english is not my native language and i sould have gone to bed before trying to write anything =D
  8. well to start with why in the love of god would you need 64gigs ofr ram?? are you trying to run like 10000000000000000 minsweaper games at the same time?? and i belive that 2 r9 290x would have shown better performance as they scale better with multi gpu setups. atleast with the new bridge less design, while i know it wont increas performance it would have less stutters.
  9. YEY, i have been waiting for this since tom's hardware had a couple of AMD guys for a visit and one of them told that they would counter G-sync. it's sooooo much better in my eyes because it's free and availebole for everyone with a compatibole monitor and GPU (maby even nvida?). to the one's saying g-sync might be better you might be right but i don't want to tie myself down to Nvidia for 4-5 years (yeah i dont buy a new monitor every year. as linus said himself it's better to buy a really good one a hold on to it.). and this also means that AMD won't be locked out of a market share, but might actually steal it. i just have to point out, do any one but me cinda want to watch linus torvalds say "f**k you nvidia" becaus it cinda feels like this is AMD saying "F**k you Nvidia and keep that G-s*** for yourself" P.s. sorry about the REALLY bad english, but i'm tierd and it's not my native language.
  10. as the cards are the same they will performe the same. BUT if you are overclocking you can see which overclocks the best and have better stability
  11. for the cpu question it's fairly silmple. if you are on a budget buy the amd prossesor and if you have more money to spend buy th intel. if the pc is mostly for gaming i'd advice you to save the money on the CPU and use it on a better GPU. and Komplet.se has the cooler master EVO 212 cpu cooler that could save you 400 sek (about 50$) and have almost as good performance as the noctua. so it's also great if you'r on a budget.
  12. Hello everyone. after beeing a active reader of this forum, and long time viewer of linustechtips (and all the other channels =D) i thought i'd ask for some help/advice. i have been looking for a good set of wireless headphones and have more or less ended up on the creative aurvana platinum, but there are no reviews of them (atleast not in a language i speak). i was wondering if anyone know of any headphones in the same price range that are wireless and has a similar audio quality. or if any one here have a pair of them and could tell me if it's a good buy or not =D
