  1. Im installing my 1080ti in a x399 mobo, ive lined it up to the lane i push it in. Im not hearing any audible click but the dim slot tab is closed and then the cards metal lip that sits over the IO shield wont line up with the screw holes. i dont want to fuck it up please help
  2. I understand my gpu wont take advantage of freesync im more concern whether it will be still be useable
  3. Ive got a 1080ti and Im in need of an ultrawide (lg34um95) for my workstation productivity needs. Ill mostly be using it for work however I still want to game on it but im worried that the tearing will be so bad it will be unusable

  5. Which had more widespread addoption and application for workstation purposes.
  6. GPU limitation isnt a problem for me, im more worried about the fact that the resolutions are different between the two displays so finding wallpapers ect.
  7. i want to do an ultrawide (3440x1440) paired with a regular 16:9 27'' 1440p monitor, before i commit to this are there any downsides to this setup (ie. scaling ect)
  8. @Jurrunio maya now is an autodesk app, but i wont be my main application, ill most likely be using blender more than maya now that i think about it.
  9. I've just built my dream workstation build (thread ripper 1920x, 64gb ram ect, ect,) i now only need to buy the gpu but im having a hard time actually finding a straight answer for which is better for my usage. Predominantly ill be using applications such as After effects, cinema 4d, maya and premiere, the thing turning me away from vega the noise factor and heat output (i know this is much less with the liquid cooled version however im still concerned by noise). Im not here to start ww3, i just need to find which is best for my particular situation.
  10. i found one, only one but its perfect its the one i want. but its ridiculous that the flat displays only come in the lower resolution now, thanks for the advice
  11. Im in desperate search of a flat 3440x1440 ultrawide, im a content creator namely animation ect, so the curved displays although nice are too disorientating for my work flow. All of the flat monitors ive found are from last year and are sold out everywhere. (i live in australia and amazon wont ship to me) so im pretty much stuck with the option of either buying a curved ultrawide or having to just dual monitor (which i really dont want to do). if anyone can help out that'd be amazing
  12. The reason im worried about the Be quite! case is that due to all the acoustic insulation that it could cause higher thermals for my cpu and gpu. Im putting in a TR 1900x and they run pretty hot, im putting in some after market cooling though. i live in one of the hotter parts of Australia so this is something i need to consider
  13. Im about to build a new workstation, ive currently selected a ''Be quite! pure base 600'' but im worried about cpu temps as im going to have a fair amount of juice running through it. i know there are better cases out there but im finding it hard to find ones orientated towards workstations. please recommend any that would be good for air flow cheers.
