So you ended up doing the washer mod and changing the thermal paste or did you switch it to watercooling? -
XFX MERC 319 6900 XT Limited Black junction temp too high ?
Mouse-Potato replied to Mouse-Potato's topic in Graphics Cards
I've done this but it ends up being pretty loud. I had to mount my GPU vertically otherwise the card would physically block airflow (card is massive) from the bottom case fans blowing upwards so i'm wondering if the case fans are impeding on the exhaust from the GPU... -
XFX MERC 319 6900 XT Limited Black junction temp too high ?
Mouse-Potato replied to Mouse-Potato's topic in Graphics Cards
That seems like a huge deviation, woudl the washer mod be recommended for my GPU ? I was almost thinking about going with an Alphacool waterblock and custom loop, but that is opening up a whole new realm that i'm not familiar with... -

How can i tell if it is throttling or not? Does it show up in HWinfo live or is there some sort of back log ? -
Hello all, I am currently wondering if the hot spot on my GPU is too high under gaming, there is about a 20°C Delta between the 2 temps and if i'm not mistaken the card starts to thermal throttle at around 95°C. Are these temps within spec? Thanks in advance guys! My current Afterburner settings are the following: HW64 temp readings:

Hmm, it would seem that after a gaming session there is still about a 10°C difference, so not sure if that's hammering it because games don't use all cores. Some do reach 5.1ghz while other tend to go no higher than 4.9ghz What would you suggest that I use to test this, CPU-Z ? This is what i get when i use CPU-Z on all core :

Ok perfect, thanks for your reply! I was worried i might have to reseat the cold plate on the AIO.

Hi guys, I'm noticing that the difference in CCD 0 and 1 temps are fairly large (10° to 15°C). I was wondering if this seems normal to you guys or not. I'm using a new DeepCool LT720 AIO for cooling Processor is a Ryzen 5950x If this is huge, what should i do ? Thanks

MacBook pro 13 M1 2021 battery in deep sleep
Mouse-Potato replied to Mouse-Potato's topic in Troubleshooting
Awesome, I will go this route. I found the ifixit battery replacement for around $100. The battery is out of warranty though unfortunately... What exactly do the repair shops do, change the battery or unlock the deep sleep on the battery ? Thanks -
Hi all, I recently was gifted a MBP from 2021 that had never been opened or charged. I tried starting it up and it works only if the charge cable is plugged in, it'll black screen as soon as I unplug it. I took it to an apple store and they said the battery is in deep sleep mode and basically the only fix is to replace the battery... I'm thinking the voltage dropped too low from being stored for so long and the system is keeping the battery from charging. Apple quoted my about 300$ to replace the battery but I don't like the company and their ways of doing business so I'm very reluctant in paging them to replace what I consider a new item. Does anyone know of a way to remove the charge fail safe or to maybe manually charge the battery by opening the case back to a normal voltage ? Thanks LTT fam !

i have something similar but for sata, maybe i can get a couple of adaptors for the m.2 to sata then feed it into the unit. When you say that you can't clone active boot disk do you mean the drive i'm trying to write can't be physically installed in the motherbaord ? What clone tool would you recommend? Thanks !

Hi all, When i first built my PC i could only afford a 1gb gen3 m.2(Sabrent) and now i have purchased a 1gb gen4 m.2 (Samsung 980 pro). I've been trying to use Samsung Magician to make an image of the OS on the new drive but always seem to be getting an error... I've tried using Acronis for crucial since i have an external m.2 drive of the brand so that I can use their software without a license, this has also failed. At this point i feel like i've tried everything but have failed. Does anyone know of a way that i can do this withouth having to reinstall windows and everything else ?

Is this some sort of malware or virus?
Mouse-Potato replied to Mouse-Potato's topic in Troubleshooting
Thanks for the in depth explanation, fortunately i haven't rooted my phone so i think i'm good. I was curious though to know if there is a specific way to check that file for malware, i used avast and put the file in a folder to check it but it didn't find anything, it came back clean. I'm guessing it won't pick up on certain malware though.. -

I appreciate your response, so i'm guessing i shouldn't be worried about anything being installed low key on my phone ? I didn't accept anything regarding persmissions -
Hi, I recently received a pdf file from a known company in my area and it contained a PDF file with a new years greetings card. Of course i clicked on it and after realized that i probably shouldn't have... I was wondering if someone could enlighten me on how to check if the file is in fact malware and if it installed something on my phone. I did however find this around the time that i opened the PDF. Is this bad ? If so what should I do to check it and remove it ? Thanks

Python on Windows, why can't I install libraries ?
Mouse-Potato replied to Mouse-Potato's topic in Programming
OOOoooohhhhhhh. I get it now ... I used to run cde through a RaspberryPi and for some reason i thought it was the same process as doing the "sudo apt-get/install...." commands but through the python idle terminal... Many thanks ! So does this mean that on Mac everything goes through the terminal ? -
Python on Windows, why can't I install libraries ?
Mouse-Potato replied to Mouse-Potato's topic in Programming
Hmm, it seems i'm stuck at this step.I reinstalled python a selected all the options. If i open python and try to install pandas it doesn't work but if i do it through command prompt, it works. Not sure if i should be able to install pandas and other libraries directly via the python terminal
