  1. I was lucky enough to get an RTX 3090 FE off of Best Buy last week and finally received it on Saturday. I installed it and reinstalled graphics drivers. The first game I tried was Watch Dogs: Legion. With the Ultra graphics preset, with ray tracing and DLSS OFF, I can't even hit 60 FPS. I'm not sure if this is an optimization issue, or my card is defective or something. I could be somewhat CPU limited with my 3700X, but I'm not sure about that. I am going to be getting a 5900x when they drop this week, and I have an x570 board on the way. It could also be a resolution issue as I only have a 1080p monitor, but I plan on upgrading to a 1440p or 4k monitor soon. Other games like COD: MW run over 100 FPS maxed out with RT on. In RDR2 I can get 60 FPS with a mix of Ultra and High settings. MSFS doesn't hit above 30 with mixed Ultra and High settings. I could hit upwards of 45 with the same settings on my1080 ti, and I saw about the same performance in Watch Dogs: Legion with the 3090 as I did with the 1080 ti. The card hasn't hit more than 70c either. Anyone have any insights?
  2. I want to wait for the benchmarks, but I'm worried that the 3090 will be out of stock once the benchmarks are out and I've decided on a card.
  3. I'm planning on buying the 3090 next week, but I'm not sure if I should get the FE or a 3rd party card. I like the way the 3090 looks, but I like the Aorus Xtreme and the Gaming X Trio too. What do you guys think?
  4. I want to get a new CPU Cooler and I've been looking at the Corsair H100x AIO as it's on sale right now and I like Corsair's products. I have a R7 3700x CPU with an AsRock x370 Taichi motherboard in an NZXT S340 Elite. I know the H100x is compatible with my motherboard, I'm just not certain it will fit in my case. I have a dual fan GPU so length of my GPU shouldn't be a factor. If anyone has this cooler and case and can provide me with some insight, that would be awesome. Thanks!
  5. I'm looking to upgrade my current air cooler to an AIO and I'm just wondering what people think the best option would be. I don't really want to spend more than $130/140. I've been looking at the Cryorig A40, but I just saw that the Corsair H100i RGB Platinum is on sale for $129 instead of $159. Which one would be the best? Or are there other options I should look into? I can only fit a single or dual fan rad in my case btw. CPU: R7 3700x Mobo: Asrock x370 Taichi Case: NZXT s340 Elite
  6. This isn't quite what you're looking for, but it is a hybrid aio Cryorig A40
  7. It's actually not that bad. I don't have the fans set to max because thats really loud, but while gaming you cant hear it at all. As soon as I take my headset of though it gets pretty loud.
  8. I have it overclocked to 2000mhz boost and its sitting around 74C so I'd be surprised if that's the issue.
  9. GTX 1080 Ti. It's the MSI Armor OC edition
  10. I don't have specific games but I just got a new 4k monitor and my 1080 Ti just doesn't quite hit 60fps all the time at 4k. I know the 1080 Ti is still a great card but I have the money and I've had the 1080 Ti since it was released.
  11. I'm looking to upgrade my GPU and I'm wondering what other people think I should do. Should I spend a little less and go for the 2080 Super, or spend the extra money on the 2080 Ti. Is the performance difference big enough to make the difference in price justifiable? Should I just wait until Ampere is announced/released and just make a decision then? At the very least the 20 series prices will most likely drop.
  12. I just cleared CMOS, but I won't really know if that worked for a while. The CPU is not overclocked at all, and I updated the BIOS before installing the new CPU. I just realized that BIOS version 5.80 (I have 5.60) actually does support Matisse, I thought it didn't. I will try updating to 5.80 too.
  13. I did not try that. I will right now.
  14. I just recently bought a Ryzen 7 3700x to upgrade from my Ryzen 5 1600x. Since I installed the 3700x, I keep getting a BSOD that says WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. There is no code after that message to help identify the problem. It's been happening at least once every time I use my PC. It has never happened once until I switched CPU's. I finally figured out how to look at the MEMORY.DMP file and all I can get from it is that it's a PCIe error. Specifically "FAILURE_ID_HASH_STRING: km:0x124_authenticamd_pciexpress_venid_8086_devid_1539_unsupported_request_completion_timeout". I'll attach the full MEMORY.DMP file below. Any help in fixing this would be greatly appreciated. PC Specs CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x Cooler: Cryorig H7 GPU: MSI Armor OC GTX 1080Ti Mobo: Asrock x370 Taichi RAM: 32gb G.SKILL Trident Z RBG 3200mhz cl14. 4 sticks of 8gb OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit MEMORY.DMP
  15. I am running out of space on my 860 Evo 1TB and I want to get another 860 Evo 1TB. My current 860 is my OS drive and it has some other stuff on it, and I want the new 860 to be the OS drive and nothing else. Is there a way to migrate JUST the Windows installation to the new 860, and delete the Windows installation from the old 860, but keep all programs? Can I do this just by creating a System Image and installing the System Image to the new 860? Will the Windows Installation that is on the old 860 be deleted? Any help is much appreciated. I don't want to buy the new drive until I know what to do, but I really need more space for Visual Studio libraries for some of my college classes.
  16. Ok thank you. If they perform basically identically, why does the 3800x even exist?
  17. I want to upgrade my 1600x to a 3700x, but I'm wondering if it would be worth it to spend the extra $70 and get the 3800x? What would you guys recommend? These are my specs. Mobo; ASRock x370 Taichi (going to get an x570 board later as well) GPU: MSI GTX 1080 Ti Armor OC RAM: 32gb Tridentz RGB 3200Mhz CPU Cooler is a Cryorig H7 that I am going to upgrade to a Cryorig A40/A40 Ultimate at a later date.
  18. Hello everyone! I currently have a 1600x running on an Asrock x370 Taichi and I want to upgrade to a 3700x or 3800x. I know that the x370 Taichi will support both of those CPU's with a BIOS update, but I am unsure of how I should update the BIOS. Do I need to do it before installing the new CPU, or do I update after installing the new CPU, or will my system not post if I install the CPU before updating the BIOS?
  19. Yeah I just saw pricing is expected to be only like $45 more than the 2700x plus double the cores and threads. I think I'll probably just wait for that.
  20. I didn't even know Zen 2 was coming yet. The 3700X isn't even that much more than the 2700X. Do you think the performance difference between the two is enough that I should wait and just pay a little extra in July?
  21. I want to upgrade from my current 1600x to the 2700x but I have a couple questions I want answered before I do. I have the Asrock X370 Taichi that I bought when I first built this system back in December 2017. All I would need to do is update the bios to a version that supports the 2700X, and do that before I install the 2700X or it won't work, right? I have never updated the bios I also have 16gb of tridentz rgb ram (F4-3200C14D-16GTZR) that currently works perfectly fine, but isn't listed on any of the RAM qvl's on asrocks website. Would this cause an issue once I update the bios and install the 2700x?
  22. Would the 1080 ti perform better?
