Side note: recently it started a new thing. Turns on fine every 2/3 time but the randomly when powered on from shut down the windows login screen doesn't appear. Just black screen and nothing happens forcing me to hard shutdown and power up again. On a single occasion powering up with not my user (i am the only user) but instead DESKTOP-bunch of letters/numbers and couldn't click to enter name or anything

Ok, if re seating doesn't work i'll try that. I'm not sure what xmp setting it is on at the moment. Is the memory controller instability a problem in the new TR? (2950x ect) or a problem in the i9?

Thank you! I will try re-seating first. Also personally I've only run the standard windows memory diagnostic and run a Repair/Check Windows system files (nothing ever found)

Hi guys, I'm at a loss, and completely run out of ideas on how to fix whatever the problem is. For over a year , ever since i've had my system, it has had persistent BSOD issues. 99% of the time it reads the error code MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. It is a work cp mainly used for 3D modeling and heavy rendering and has never run any games etc. The problem happens anywhere from 2 times a week to 2 times a day. Usually like clock work -- either after a day of heavy work like Modo or Vray CPU renders OR maybe 3 days/week of medium sized Photoshop documents. Might crash while using the programs OR might crash after I've already closed all applications and is just idling (maybe a few chrome tabs open). It gets to the point that I won't even listen to music or have multiple applications open. Saving 2-3 copies of everything every 20 min out of paranoia. It almost feel like its storing up a cache and when it hits a certain point it just dumps everything and BSODs I have run memory scans, all the RAM chips have been tested multiple times. All my programs have been tried on different versions (but it can happen on idle). The BIOS was updated and so were drivers/windows updates. I should note I have never pulled out any components personally for fear of voiding warranty. Originally it had a M.2 SSD in it but was switched because it was overheating the MoBo and putting the system into a restart loop. The last time i took it in the guy found a leftover piece of tape on the M.2 slot (maybe caused the OG overheating) but couldn't find a problem with the ram sticks. Just because timing, I got the Threadrippper 1950x the day it was released and have read complaints stating that first-gen was kinda buggy, particularly mentioning memory issues and discrepancies in frequencies between the TR and ram Should I try the TR2... would i have been better off getting the intel i9? The system is: CPU: AMD Threadripper 1950x 3.4Ghz MoBo: Asus ROG Strix X399-e Gaming eatx RAM: Corsair Vengance LPX D4 4x16GB 2666MHz (64gb) GPU: Asus Geforce GTX1080ti Strix oc 11 Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SATA NZXT Kraken x52 Liquid Cooling Widows 10 home Please, any knowledge or input would be so helpful. So weird thing just happened... I went to boot my computer up from Shutdown, lights in case came on and the Republic of Gamers logo displayed on screen (f2 to enter BIOS etc etc) but didn't proceed to display windows login screen. Instead screens just displayed black. Tried force shutdown twice with same result, then pulled the plug....I noticed my headphones were plugged in so I took them out too (audio jack at front).... Booted totally fine. I am using a ASUS ROG Strix X399-E. I know this could happen booting with a USB plugged in but headphones really?? It's especially weird because earlier in the day I accidentally restarted with a USB storage disc plugged into the front and it booted totally fine. They're are just a pair of meh Xbox 1 Headphones (no mic) TL;DR Headphones cause boot problems?

So I think I found a solution. Replaced the motherboard to an ASUS x399-E and the problem persisted (also switched PSU). Turns out it's those new NVMe SSD M.2's.... Perhaps BIOS revision for both boards are having a hard time initializing the NVMe controller(?). Nonetheless, mine heated up way to fast and shut the system down. I switched to a samsung SSD and its been working fine so far! P.s. I see you switched to the Asus RoG Zenith Extreme X399 Mobo... did that fix the problem for you? It was the board I wanted to switch my MSI for but I had to get back to work and it wasn't in stock... settled for the ASUS ROG Strix X399-E Gaming haha

Hey, Just wanted to mention I have the EXACT same problem… And specs are almost the same too. MSI x399 AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950x GTX 1080 ti RAM: 4 x 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666MHz PSU: EVGA 850 GQ Windows 10 x64 Monitor 1: Wacom Cintiq 27QHD Monitor 2: HP ?? I haven’t confirmed temp but fans are NZXT x52 which is suppose to use CAM (had to uninstalled CAM because extremely buggy and caused cursor lag etc…?). Computer is used for content creation/ 3D rendering but both times (so far) the problem occurred when under low load (just on Photoshop or home screen). Both monitors go black and cannot force shut down… have to flip the power switch at back. First time I got a shock through my headphones. Normally the LED lights display 40 after normal power-on or 30 after wake-up from sleep. AA seems to appear after installing something and restarting or after problem occurs and am forced to cutting the power.
