    Lapped Amd Ryzen

Yeah I did saw his video, but he did it with a G2200. When the 3rd gen ryzen is available, I am gonna retire my R1600. Don't think its worth much in the 2nd hand market, so I am thinking of Lapping it and do any other crazy stuff with this. We can't apply liquid metal on aluminium based surface as it might corrode over time. But after lapping I might put liquid metal on the exposed copper surface with an AIO copper base surface pump. Thanks for this idea . But coming back to the main question, just curious whether anyone did this?

    Lapped Amd Ryzen

Nah, not delidding. Its lapping. Its basically sand papering the IHS till you reach the copper layer and I do know that Ryzen cant be delidded... Delidding it basically destroys it except Ryzen G2200 & G2400 which uses paste..
  3. Did anyone tried to lap a Ryzen? Any improvement thermally on your side? Saw Gamers Nexus attempt & thinking of doing this... Tq in advance.

    APEX LEGENDS FPS goal

I am getting an average 110fps with the same cpu but paring it with an asus strix b350 mobo , 16gb 3200mhz Ram and a RTX 2070. I have only OC the CPU to 3.7ghz atm. Playing Apex with some settings on Med. With Low setting expect to get a higher avg. With that said at 1080p many YT reviewers said that the limiting factor would be the CPU. Ryzen 1600 has weak IPC if not the entire 1st gen ryzen, 2nd gen ryzen has slightly improved on this but with all the Hype that is going around with 3rd gen ryzen, the best thing to do is to wait for 3rd gen ryzen look at the performance + get yourself a RTX card with 8gb and above. Also if the leaks are true, Ryzen 7 3700X 12c/24t 4.2/5.0ghz should work wonders with plenty of headroom to spare. Just my 2 cents..

    RTX2070 married Ryzen 1600

I am getting constant 72fps on avg with the 2nd story on DX12, with DX 11 I am around 120-144fps... with frame limiter on.

Oh dear, Buttery experience with DX11 compared to sickly DX12. WIth DX 11 & OC CPU usage has never peaked to 100%. With DX12 will just crash my game and at times reach 100% CPU usage... Do you guys have any issues with DX12?

I think your cpu is the strong point. I just did some research at 1080p its cpu bottle neck higher than that is your gpu... I will test my cpu in a while to see this theory holds but it looks true from all I read... I did a fresh install. None of the unusual, RGB softwares, normal drivers, Microsoft office, chrome etc...

In contradiction, did notice that I gained a few frames with OC, but could not figure out why on earth stuttering occurs.
