  1. @Krosis Thanks for the suggestions. The Asus VivoBook seems to be the better deal in terms of cost to hardware. I would just need to see if it fits into my bag and the only issue I can see it the short battery life. I'm really liking what the LG Gram and Huawei has to offer in terms of hardware and appearance.
  2. I currently have a Surface Pro 3 and want to replace it due to it failing both physically and electronically. The only uses for this laptop will be using it to type word documents, coding, light YouTube browsing, and potentially some light CAD/SolidWorks. I would prefer a laptop that is quiet compared to the jet engine my Surface is when the computer is just on. I have no brand loyalty so I'm all open to suggestions whether it be Mac, PC, Intel or AMD. I just want something that will be portable, quiet and durable. Budget: $1200 USD
  3. The card is officially dead. I got it to display but it artifacts a lot. Again, Thanks for the replies.
  4. Thanks for the quick reply's! I'm going to watch my AIO and see if it is leaking. I wouldn't be surprised since it is about 5 years old.
  5. I do have an AIO, I just checked and it doesn't appear to be leaking but I'll look into it some more. The substance is a bit sticky if that indicates its from the AIO or not
  6. My computer was working f ine last night for about 10 mins of light YouTube watching, when the screen when black and the GPU light went out. I got this same event to occur two more times before just wanting to save it for morning. This morning I have no signal from the GPU but the light is powered on. The computer is detecting the card but defaults to the Intel on board graphics and the card doesn't even display anything or send a signal but appears to have power. I've tested the power supply and confirmed that the PCI express lane works with a R7 370. I noticed a substance on the back of the card and was wondering if a component on the card broke and leaked. I know this substance was not there about 2 or 3 months ago when I upgraded my CPU. TLDR: There is a substance on the board of the MSI GTX 970 and was wondering if this could have been the cause of failure. Pictures:
  7. I have a NZXT S340 and I'm using the older Cooler Master Nepton 240m in my case which fits well without any issues. I don't know if the newer Cooler Master AIO's come with the AM4 bracket but I'm pretty sure Cooler Master will either send one to you for free or you could get it pretty cheap. On a side note, unless you're a huge Razor fan or going for a green theme, I'd go with the NZXT S340 elite because it's cheaper and is just plainly an upgrade from the regular S340 at around $40-60 cheaper than the Razor case.
  8. I finally decided to end my cable subscription and was looking into getting a streaming device for my TV. I've been looking at the Amazon Fire TV and the Roku Premiere+ and was wondering if anyone had one or both of these devices and there thoughts on it. Both devices have similar reviews on amazon and are priced pretty evenly. The only difference I can see is that the Amazon remote has a microphone button to allow voice searches(I know the Roku app also has a voice search, but I know my parents will not use this option); whereas the Roku has a headphone jack which I don't think will get any use in my household. They seem to be very similar in their selection of streams, shows and movies. Which one do you think I should purchase? Or should I just wait for the rumored 2017 Fire TV?
