  1. oh sure! you could also do it from disk management, by clicking right clicking the Unallocated space, and then enabling it, and then extending it, but I am glad your solution worked!
  2. Wait, so you bought a 500gb. How much data did you copy over to it, and how big is the program you are trying to install? a 500gb drive usually has less than 500gb, maybe like 485gb, and it also needs space for trimming / file cleanup, so you are likely getting 470gb of actual storage. Can you post a screenshot? If you are using windows do this. Press the windows key Type disk management Click create and format hard disk partitions. **Do not format, or partition a drive here, we are only seeing if you drive appears here and with how much space** Verify the following for the drive in question See I am using a 500gb drive, but the actual space I can use is 470gb
  3. OH, lol - I guess its still easier to ask than use a system . Thank you!
  4. Get a D15, its a great proven product. Notcua also has a 6 year warranty which is pretty nice.
  5. Hi - good morning. I am wondering if you all would be interested in a headphone recommender app that we can post on this forum. I see a lot of people asking for headphone recommendations, and many times it can be a long, frustrating, and confusing process. My app will keep things simple, and recommend headphones based on the following criteria below. The app will come with a user guide/ documentation Budget (min, max user wants to spend) Use case (gaming, movies, workout, etc) Listening enviorement (at home, in-public, etc) Headphone amp (yes, no) -> if headphone amp yes (portable or desktop) Listening preference (neutral sound, warm sound, V-shaped, Harman curve) Recommend Headphones, and some user reviews scrapped from the web to show if other people like it or not What do you guys think? Do you think it will be helpful? This will be a pretty basic slicer recommender system created in either R or Python, and deployed to a shiny or dash application. Thanks
  6. Not sure if you figured this out, but the card is not dying. I dont need to comment on anything else.
  7. With your budget I would suggest the following closed back = AKG K361 open back = Philips X2 you should also look into used headphone market to save some money - I would recommend that. I have a BTR 5, and its pretty nice! you can even take phone calls on it.
  8. My guess is that at 0% fan speed your motherboard 4 pin header is not sending enough voltage to start the fan, and this would be true even if you increased your motherboard fan speed to 5% or 10% because the voltage would still be less than the fans starting voltage. On the other hand your video card sends enough voltage to start the fan even though the fan speed is set to 0%. Did your original cooler fan stopped at 0% ? Also “off” is might not be same as 0% fan speed, one can possibly mean no voltage vs not enough voltage to start up a specific fan.
  9. Your first query is correct, and will give you the results you are looking for. Joins are usually the quickest vs subqueries or CTEs so I think speed is of least concern here. If you are working with large tables you can create temporary tables that are filtered on some parameters, and then perform joins on those. CTE is great is you will be using the CTE more than once. I have experience with MS sql, and serverless AWS databases, and the speed also comes down to what you are using. You dont want to be running a query over and over if speed is needed, so if you dont need updated data you can run your query with joins, and save the result in a temp table, and then use that temp table.
  10. My friend this is not an Issue, the corsair fan you are using is not rated for 0 rpm, and it will go down to 525 rpm +_ 10% so it is exactly functioning as expected. 0 rpm fans can stop completely even if they are seeing some voltage. Your corsair fan is probably seeing the voltage that it needs to run, so it defaults to run at its lowest speed that it was designed to use.
  11. Hi, the issue is with video card/ drivers. Do you have your video card overclocked? I have seen unstable video card overclock throw this message. Do the following start your pc in safe mode, see if the driver crashes again. If not then remove the old driver using CC cleaner restart your pc again and reinstall the driver. See if crashes happen if crashes don’t stop after #1 then download MSI afterburner and underclock your video card by 50 MHz on core and see if crashes stop, if not reduce core speed again by 50 MHz and by this reduction the error should stop. let me know what happens
  12. Hi, the benefit of open back headphones is that their “soundstage” seems larger and they have less resonant frequencies. So the sound feels more open, large, and dispersed (imagine a speaker in a room). Due to less resonant frequencies the sound is also cleaner. You can also try X2HR by Philips as they are easy to drive, get fairly loud, and have a smooth bassy sound signature, if you want more neutral sound that’s accurate without any frequency emphasis then try the HD headphones.
  13. Yes X2HR is good, but I find it’s bass too over amplified. Better “sound” is subjective as I like neutral sound most of the time and tend to prefer HD 560/ 600/650 over the X2HR. In frequency graphs the sennheiser HDs response is much cleaner compared to X2HR but the X2HR are cheaper and also easier to drive.
  14. I can help you. 1. Stop typing and 2. take a step away from your computer 3. close your eyes 4. take a deep breath 5. repeat #4 for 5 minutes, and let go of the thought that you NEED to buy a 3070 / 3080 right now 6. You win! And you realize that you aren’t alone and many others are in the same situation, but you know that it will be OK and eventually you will get the card of your dreams wish you best of luck my friend
  15. Hi, it’s overall FPS. This is essentially how your frames were distributed, heaven FPS all over the place makes sense here as the result just tells you that majority of your FPS was above 180 but it tells you nothing about average FPS or max FPS - so you can have a lot of fluctuations. What you want to see whisker plot of your FPS as it will show the mean, median, min, max FPS. If those values are close to each other than your gameplay will be smoother, if those values are far apart then you will see fluctuations in your FPS.
  16. Don’t spend 2500€ on a 3080 - IMO that’s absurd. If you can get a used 1080 TI / 2070 super for 500€ buy that and wait for the 3080 prices to normalize or for Nvidia to release 4xxx cards. 2500€ is just too much.
  17. Ohms is a measure of resistance. Essentially higher ohms means that you need more power for your headphones to produce sound. I would stick with HD 560S or HD 58x due to lower resistance compared to other headphones you listed. Higher ohms doesn't necessarily mean better sound but it does mean more power to drive the headphones. But another thing you should look at is sensitivity which dictates how loud your headphones will be at certain power level given by decibels per volts. The higher the sensitivity the louder your headphones will be. I would say that you should stick with the HD 560 / 58x for now as those headphones have a pleasing sound compared to DT 770/880/990 as DT headphones can sound very thin with no bass if they are underpowered. I own more than 100 headphones including the ones you mentioned here (I am buying and selling headphones all the time), funnily my first “real” headphones were DT 990 Pro followed by sennheiser HD 600, and then HD 650 and then the list kept on growing. also wanted to ask you the following 1. are you looking for only open back headphones ? Open back headphones sound great for music and games but all of your noise will be head by others around you, and they let sound in if you are in a noisy environment 2. are you willing to buy used headphones? You can get awesome deals on used headphones if you are willing to spend sometime on hifishark and headfi
  18. It means that almost 99% of your frames are above an FPS threshold, from what you posted it seems 180..so 99% of your frames are above 180fps
  19. I am a data scientist so I would say data science, but this is just an umbrella term for many different disciplines. For example you can go into mathematics side of it, you can go into computer vision side of it, you can even go into reinforcement learning. One of my fellow co-workers is a neuroscientist and works as a data scientist to understand learning patterns of students. Many many flavors of it. I got my MS in applied Mathematics with dual undergraduate degree in mathematics and physics. One thing I would suggest is that regardless of your CS path make sure you get the public skills to explain your reasoning and results in simple terms that anyone who is not familiar with CS can understand.
