  1. Hi everyone! Recently, after all that's been going on with Piriform (the acquisition by Avast, the malware and the telemetry), I've started considering if using CCleaner and Defraggler is still a good idea. Are there any alternatives, particularly ones that wouldn't be too difficult for me to set up on the family computers and teach my parents to use? Is the software provided by default in Windows 10 good enough to replace the aforementioned software?

Looking for an Android phone to buy

Thanks for the recommendations guys, I'll check them out!
  3. Hi everyone! I'm looking for a phone to buy to replace my ancient (let's be honest, prehistoric at this point) Galaxy Note 2. The little guy has served me very well, but it's apparent it's getting too slow and outdated. What are some good phones to buy that will last for the next 3-4 years at least? Ideally, I'd like something with good specs, a close to stock Android experience and a headphone jack. I mostly use my phone for messaging, Reddit, web browsing and YouTube. When it comes to price, I would prefer not to break the bank, but I can justify getting something like the Galaxy Note 9 if it truly is my best option, since I don't buy a new phone very often.

    970 EVO or 860 EVO?

Oh, believe me, I would if I could, but the dying screams of my wallet would haunt me forever... I thought so. Thanks for your replies guys!
  6. Hey everyone, I bought a Gigabyte Aero 15X, which comes with a 512 GB SSD, and I would like to buy an additional 1 TB SSD so that I don't have to worry about running out of storage for my games (and frankly way too many mods...). After some research, I found both the Samsung 970 EVO and the 860 EVO currently on sale and would like to buy one of those two. I'm most likely going to go for the 860 EVO, as all the information I could find on the internet points to there being almost no real-world noticeable difference between SATA and NVMe SSDs, especially when it comes to the loading times of games. Would this information indeed be correct? Are there any other benefits to having an NVMe SSD that might make me consider the 970 EVO a bit more carefully, or should I listen to the screams of my wallet and try to empty it slightly less? Finally, does anyone happen to know if the 860 EVO is even compatible with the Aero 15X in the first place? The empty M.2 slot in the laptop is a combined NVMe/SATA slot, which means that it should work fine in theory, right? Thanks!

Need help looking for a laptop.

Ok, we have results! I am down to the Gigabyte Aero 15 and the MSI GS63VR (Stealth Pro). They have the same CPU and GPU, the difference is that with the Stealth Pro I would be getting an HDD as well as a (lower capacity) SSD and it is also cheaper. I'm currently leaning towards the Aero 15, though. I'll sleep on it and see what I think tomorrow morning. Thanks a lot for your recommendations guys!

I won't lie, out of all the laptops recommended here, I think the Gigabyte Aero 15 has stolen my heart!

  11. Hello people, I'm looking for a gaming laptop in order to replace my PC. My GPU died recently, and since my system is pretty old and would probably need a major overhaul anyway, I decided it would be better to get a gaming laptop now that I'll be needing anyway in a year when I'm at university. Now, it's really tempting to go balls to the wall and just get a Razer Blade Pro, but I realise that would be incredibly stupid since I could build a PC for half the price that performs better (and I would also be murdering my wallet in cold blood). I need some recommendations for laptops to take a look at. It needs to be reasonably powerful since it will be replacing my PC for the next 4-5 years. I play games like Battlefield, GTA V, Arma 3 and modded Skyrim and Fallout 4. Therefore, it's quite important to me that it has a decent CPU (since Arma 3 is quite CPU-heavy) and that it has as much VRAM as possible so that I can use texture mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4. My budget around €2,000, with the maximum I'm willing to spend on it being about €2,500. Thanks in advance!
