    So, for everyone, it turned out to be the GPU. We took it out and ran some benchmarks (on integrated graphics) and it never once went black.
     
    I'm working with newegg to RMA it for a refund so we can get a better card.

    While Apple has the money and the knowledge to do it, the Rift would become yet another closed iOS device. They would also try to find a way to patent it and sue everyone else making anything remotely similar.

    I remember a few months ago when they were $180...I just hope this GPU mining mess dies off soon, or at least the retailers can set cards back to their normal price. Unfortunately it's probably going to be bad for a while if Nvidia can get better OpenCL support for their cards, and if that happens, then that means expensive cards for both sides.
