I wonder how much of a temperature difference their will be compared to the conventional variants.

SwingLifeAway92 got a reaction from Ashley MLP Fangirl in Is it normal for cpu and gpu fans to get loud when vsync is turned off?
Yes Vsync caps the frame rate so when it's off, the gpu has to render more frames (thus more stress on the card)

Their used to be a way to run Linux and andriod on one but, pretty sure Microsoft cracked down on the exploit to do so. Don't think anyone ever bothered to find another way to install a diff OS due to lack of interest and Microsoft really locking down those devices.

How much are you willing to spend on a good PSU? That EVGA PSU is pretty cheap, I'd recommend something tier 3 or at least tier 4 from the PSU tier list
The 1050 ti is very low power. Most models have no power plugs, requiring power only from the motherboard. I think it's a good card for the aging FX 8350.

They're optimized more for airflow opposed to static pressure. Radiators tend to favor fans with higher static pressure as they need push the air through the fins of a rad. However, unless your cpu is overclocked you shouldn't notice to much of a temp jump though it will cause your pc to run hotter over using SP fans

They physically limited it on the PCB so there isn't a way to get more voltage unless one was to bypass it.

You never turn electronics on when there's the presence of liquid on it as it'll fry it best bet would be to remove it wash it with rubbing alcohol and hope you didn't already kill it.

SwingLifeAway92 got a reaction from CrippledROBOT in During Cinebench test, 8700k spikes up to 90C while Ryzen stays 66C. can't be normal?
Intel cpus use an igpu so they use toothpaste for the ihs (not really but might as well be) this is due to the intergrated gpus not being able to handle the soldering process with as well as the cpu portion. Due to this they tend to run 10-20 degrees above what they would run soldered like ryzen cpus.

The main issue is this you're a game developer and made a game that you're now optimizing for the pc market. Do you A) make it so all single gpus work well and get the game out as soon as possible or B) finish optimizing for single cards and then spend another few months on the small percentage of people with multi gpu riggs. Most companies are going to pick A

SwingLifeAway92 got a reaction from jet224presents in GTX 1080ti problem
It could be something to do with a bad bios perhaps the guy flashed a diff bios on it. I know when I had my gtx 1080 I flashed it to unlock the voltage limits and that disabled the hdmi port. I'd try taking a look and seeing if the bios says asus or another company. If not just get an adapter or use another port

SwingLifeAway92 got a reaction from genexis_x in Unhappy with ryzen 3 performance. (what should I upgrade it to?)
Just overclock the cpu or get a ryzen 5 or 7 you won't notice those issues really once you bump up your core counts. For example with Ryzen 5 you'll be 3xthe amount of threads and with ryzen 7 you'll be doubling core count and 4x thread counts
