  1. I've mainly been looking at MacBooks but would be open to getting a Windows one if it's more worth it... I'm actually living in Canada (Toronto) and I'd probably want a maximum weight of about 6-8 pounds and in terms of battery, I'd definitely need it to last the whole day so at least 8-10 hours. Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the idea, I'll definitely check it out!
  3. Hi all! I'll get straight to the point: I've been using a MacBook Air mid-2013 for about 5 years now (so I'm obviously now used to and familiar with the OS) and so I'm getting a new one. It has to last at least 4 years to get me through my computer science degree at university. I've been leaning towards a MacBook because I've heard they're really good for programmers and I also have an iPhone/iPad so I'm definitely well into the ecosystem. In terms of gaming, I used to try playing CS:GO at 20 FPS on my laptop but eventually got fed up but I'd really be interested in getting back into it which is why I'm considering a gaming laptop. I won't be doing any particularly demanding photo/video editing or playing that many games any more resource-intensive than your average eSports game and I also have an Xbox so if I do have to get a laptop that can't game, it's not the end of the world. It does, however, have to be portable so anything bigger than about 15-inches is pretty much out of the question. In terms of budget, I'm at an ABSOLUTE maximum of about 1500-1700 but I'd really prefer to get it down to about 1000 USD. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)
  4. OK thanks I'll stick with the original one then.
  5. Wait waaht... yeah how do you access threads you've made in the past?
  6. I'm looking to play most games at 1440p at High settings and take full advantage of the high refresh rate in eSports or less-demanding games like CS:GO. This is really as high as I can go in terms of price for everything and I'd like to keep the black and white theme. I also NEED wireless network capabilities. 9. Yeah but I need to be able to connect to Wi-Fi wirelessly and I thought why not have it come with the mobo instead of going out and buying a discrete adapter...

  11. Simple question: how good are the wireless network capabilities on any of the MSI Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboards? Will they suffice for any commercial internet speeds or would one be better off buying a discrete card?
  12. Don't really want to wait for the non-overclocking Coffee Lake mobos but yeah thanks pretty good suggestions. Do you think the cheap Windows 10 licenses are trustworthy/safe?
  13. I chose such an expensive motherboard because I need the wireless network capabilities. Also, do you think that the real-world difference between the Samsung SSD and the budget one you chose is really noticeable? And also, isn't the 1080 a little overkill for 1080p?

  15. I need to have wireless networking on my rig because running an Ethernet cable just isn't an option for me and that mobo comes with it included so
