You will not find new release monitor in this 16:10 aspect ratio.

Be either you like it or not, it is time to move on to XX:9 aspect ratio monitor.

Just get any OLED panel if you want real HDR great experience.

I am not typing reason as you can find from internet why OLED is the best panel for HDR.

As for your topic reason "why does every youtubers buy high end camera and still just upload non hdr videos."
My own opinion - they are basically no reason to use HDR videos, 1st many user still have bad HDR monitor and this will impact the viewer, 2nd HDR need more bandwidth, this impact to low internet user and 3rd they are no visual experience really need for those YouTuber video to perform in HDR.

As per the Display Cable / Adapter thread:

But like @Andrewtst said, DSC is used to achieve the required data rates. Even at the lowest compression level, DSC still cuts the required data rate in half.

By using Display Stream Compression technology.

Andrewtst got a reaction from podkall in Why such a difference? 24-25" monitors vs 27"+ monitors
In my opinion, the sweet screen size is 27" for Wide screen. It look perfectly fine in 100% scaling for 1440p.
Anything bigger than 27" is different story and most people do find it a bit too big.

24" is too small and I would never go back into 24" and most people once used 27" is hardly going back as well.

agree. 4k 120 444 10bit max copper hdmi 2.1 is 3m (even then its about cable quality) once you go beyond its a crap shoot if it works or not
and going to avr then to tv also takes a toll.

How long is your HDMI cable? If it is too long, you should go for Fiber optic HDMI.

Also did it work if you direct connect your PC to TV without eARC to your AV/R.

Andrewtst reacted to manikyath in Possible video: How to use your monitor if you sit infront of it 16/24 ?
that's already wrong. you want the light level to 'match' the surroundings, so that it's easy to read, but not overly bright.

past that, make sure they're at eye height, and the distance between your eyes and the monitor is adjusted well so you can easily read any text you may encounter.

also - i'm of the opinion the "illuminated room" thing is mostly a myth. you want light level to match between the display and the surrounding room. that's ofcourse easiest if the light level is set artificially too, but that doesnt mean it has to be all bright all the time. i find bright rooms straining in general, wether or not a display is involved.

Most TV is smart TV especially with such big screen. If it is due to security concern, your IT dept should know without network connection, the smart feature is not able to work. They is no worried on information leakage if security is the concern issue.

If not security issue, I can’t imagine why smart TV cannot be approve.

Typically downscaling videos will look better, so go for the highest resolution you can, in this case 1080p.

I is interlaced. Basically half the fame changes, then the other half. This is basically a relic of NTSC and other anologue video standards, and almost never used with digital video these days.

Andrewtst got a reaction from jre84 in Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 and Neo G8 short review
Finally, I had both displays. Here is my Short Review of both Neo G9 and Neo G8.
    Today I just know 32" 4K in 125% scaling is kind of exact size in 27" (34", 49") 1440p in 100% scaling.
Very shocking to know both resolution (5120x1440 and 3840x2160) has kind of same benchmark result. (I do had check the resolution is correct or not).

    Pros of Neo G9
Very immersive feel due to it very long aspect ratio. 32:9 is still better for me in productivity as I can open 3 apps side by side. 16:9 only can open max 2 apps. Joystick OSD navigation is very easier to use. Totally no tearing issue. They is no scan line issue even on 240hz as reviewer said. Deep black like OLED when local dimming on.
    Pros of Neo G8
Gaming and movies apps compatibility I will going to vote for 16:9 aspect ratio. The matte surface is like totally blocking the light source without impact to the screen look. Crisp and sharp image and text clarity. They are totally no black smearing issue to me and also, they are no scan line issue even on 240hz as reviewer said. Deep black like OLED when local dimming on. Very great screen uniformity even without using local dimming. Outstanding HDR performance! It is much better than Neo G9.
    Cons of Neo G9
They is slightly black smearing for very dark scenes. Local Dimming is not good in productivity usage. 1440p is not crispy sharp and clear especially on Windows icon, text and also games quality after you use and taste the 2160p monitor.
    Cons of Neo G8
The 4-way button is very difficult to navigate the OSD. Local Dimming is not good in productivity usage.

I decide set my Windows HDR Off by default and only On when necessary using Win+Alt+B shortcut key. Reason for doing this as I find even though HDR On did not washed out but HDR Off give much better color output for Windows and by using this method, I can left Local Dimming Auto and no need to change it as with HDR Off, then the Local Dimming will auto On when HDR content detect.   Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 Windows - Use HDR: Off Windows - SDR Content Brightness 13 (to prevent desktop over bright when switch to HDR On) OSD - Black Equalizer: 11 OSD - Picture Mode: Custom OSD - Brightness: 39 (100 in HDR mode) OSD - Contrast: 47 (100 in HDR mode) OSD - Color: Red 46, Green 46, Blue 54 Local Dimming - Auto   Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 Windows - Use HDR: Off Windows - SDR Content Brightness 9 (to prevent desktop over bright when switch to HDR On) OSD - Black Equalizer: 8 OSD - Picture Mode: Custom OSD - Brightness: 42 (100 in HDR mode) OSD - Contrast: 52 (100 in HDR mode) OSD - Color: Red 44, Green 45, Blue 56, Gamma Mode 1 OSD - Contrast Enhancer: On Local Dimming - Auto

I think Nvidia driver update something as both my monitor Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 and Neo G9 doesn't have any new firmware update but yesterday when I try out the HDMI connection and I can select 12-bit color which I remember they is no 12-bit option previously.

So now I am using HDMI 2.1 connection since it had better bandwidth and from the calculator here where totally no need compression if set both at 120hz. Beside this 12-bit color only available for HDMI connection.

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 monitor has one major flaw! The color setting will be reset to the default value from time to time.
    I set the RGB to 44, 45, 56, but it keeps resetting to 50, 50, 50...

Edit: This problem is solved once I set same setting for all input.

I decide to do a little bit changes on my Samsung Odyssey G8 Neo. The main changes is Turn Off the Contrast Enhancer as I found this make the contrast over done and deep black too black.
My Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 New Setting Windows - Use HDR: Off Windows - SDR Content Brightness 7 (to prevent desktop over bright when switch to HDR On) OSD - Black Equalizer: 13 (SDR), 15 (HDR) OSD - Picture Mode: Custom OSD - Brightness: 44 (100 in HDR mode) OSD - Contrast: 63 (100 in HDR mode) OSD - Color: Red 44, Green 45, Blue 56, Gamma Mode 1 OSD - Contrast Enhancer: Off Local Dimming - Auto

Basically they are no big changes in OLED.

I have C9 purchase in year 2020, I think release in 2019 if not mistaken.

I also recently purchased OLED Flex in year 2023 which similar as C2. From release year, it is around 4 years differences.

Result Yes the OLED Flex is ahead better than C9 especially on the brightness side only, but it is not a wow factor, the C9 still look pretty great and better than many display in the market.

If you want save some cost, buy the model a year before, for example purchase the C3 when C4 is out, but need to be quick as it is last stock availability.
