I tried 6 pirate game consoles from AliExpress
Radium_Angel replied to TannerMcCoolman's topic in LTT Releases
I have no answers for you, sometimes people just want to see what kind of weird electronic toys can be had. My guess is all those bottom-of-the-barrel tablets etc are aimed at 3rd world countries who can't afford anything better. -

We don't discuss piracy here on LTT. Mods, please lock. -

Your mother-in-law and her lawyer are drowning in a pool. You can only save one. Would you: (A) Have lunch or (B) Go see a movie -
You are new here. Welcome. Also, LTT videos are by and large really poor quality, both from a production standpoint, and a testing/information standpoint. This is a common theme to their videos.

"Worst CPU evah!" LTT Fine, where's the proof? We got a couple of dodgy GPUs, 1.5 games tried, no benchmarks, no hard numbers, no attempts at anything for proof, just "take my word!" For the record, CraftComputing did a video on the Opteron CPUs, and did it way better than this one, with proof on just how bad these CPUs are, but I only know about that video because I"m subscribed to CC. It's 2023 gang, up your standards.

Thing is...it doesn't. Oh sure, it'll be a better desktop experience, but the moment you hit the web to do anything, the limitations becomes quite apparent. The Interwebs, is the killer app, that everyone was looking for around the time of the atom netbooks. This is just netbook 2.0, re-introduced at a time where you need way more horsepower to do even basic online tasks.

LTT camera hardware and 'tech tip' resources?
Radium_Angel replied to neosindan's topic in Photography and Videography
Any of the modern mirrorless cameras will do more than he can ever need. Pick the one that feels best in his hands and go with that. An uncomfortable to use camera, regardless of specs, will never get used. -

What kind of videography is planned? Studio style work or vlogger/street reporting? -
what is Linus holding in his left hand in the thumbnail image?

Yes, several of their videos go into details and best use cases, esp. when talking about the new mirrorless rigs -
cpu cooler Best cooling for a PC in a very hot room

You might be better served to get a stand-alone air conditioner for your room -
which custom OS of windows 11 is the best for gaming?
Radium_Angel replied to Niz0909's topic in Windows
TechYesCity on YT rolls his own custom OS installs and benchmakrs them, might be interesting to watch but IIRC the performance improvements are within margin of error -
I am strongly considering using heat shrink tubing. The current platen had solidified (in effect) and become hard plastic instead of the soft rubber it was when new, and as such, the paper won't grip and the carriage return (to advance the paper to the next line) doesn't do anything when advanced. It needs to have "grip" like soft rubber (like a car door molding) Does heat shrink tubing come in soft "grippy" styles?

Here's a fun one for you mechanics: I need a rubber hose in the following dimensions ID: 25.3mm OD: 32.4mm (the OD can vary by +.1 or 2mm, but the ID must be accurate) The length should be 23.4cm, but can obviously be cut the size. It's not actually for a car, but for an old typewriter whose rubber platen has turned to hard plastic over the ~100 year life span, and the replacement platen is rather frightfully priced (10x the cost of the entire typewriter) so I was hoping to get creative.

^ The touch of gold in the flowers, in contrast to the setting sun, is very nice. I haven't done much photography in some time, life gets in the way of creativity, but I've been working on a 1937 Underwood typewriter Portable and thought the afternoon lighting, filtered through my curtains would look nice Nikon D3x, with 90mm Macro lens f/22 0.8sec on a tripod, ISO100 with CWB. No post work done. -
Let us know how the repasting works out Cheers!
