I have a 5' monitor lizard, normally he eats rats, and can swallow one whole with little issue.

Today I fed him some deer meat/fat that a hunter friend gave me. He (the monitor) had issues with it as the fat isn't "compressible" (like normal beef fat, or rat fat is) to fit into his mouth. He had difficulty eating it, but eventually got it all in...
