  1. So here is my issue, my Laptop an "Alienware R2" has a Bios update. But my laptop also has a dead battery and has to stay plugged in or it will turn right off. Every time I turn on my computer I am promoted with a DOS message saying your battery is in critical condition. Press F1 to continue to boot computer, or F2 to troubleshoot/set-up. Knowing that I have an issue with my power, and a delayed boot-up because of the message prompt screen , is it okay to update my Bios? I would hate to have it get messed up, or throw a weird issue because of my battery troubles. Hoping the community can help me out on this one. Also I have my Computer hooked up to a battery back up, in case the power should ever go out.
  2. I'm not really sure where it would be on Avast? I have Bit Defender and my battery adjustments are located under Settings then Profiles. Under the Profiles tab there is a Battery Mode Profile section.
  3. Random thought do you have an Antivirus software? Sometimes those types of software's will choose / change settings like that.
  4. I love my Logitech MX Master, I've had it for maybe a year and a half. I would recommend it!
  5. Yeah that's what I thought as well. I just didn't wanna buy a cheap bad battery and have it die right away, because I have to strip my laptop clean to change the battery.
  6. So I'm new to the forums, and I'm not sure if this is the right section to post in about this. If it's not if you could let me know where the best place to post this is. But here is the issue my laptop battery died. The computer is an "Alienware 15" not sure if it's is an R1 or R2. Now it only works on the charger, and Dell Customer support informed me they no longer carry my laptops battery :(. So I have found a few 3rd party ones on Amazon but I am not sure as what one to purchase, as not all batteries are created equal. Battery type is a Dell 191YN. Any help would be much appreciated. Please let me know if you need any further information.
