The amount of telemetry being sent means nothing, what's important is what data the telemetry being sent actually contains..I remember a few years back when someone discovered Windows 10 connected back to MS 1000s of times per day, it was what started the whole "Windows 10 is spyware" movement, then some people who actually knew what they were doing took a look and discovered that 99% of the traffic was totally benign and was for things like time & date checking, update checking, settings retrieval from MS servers etc etc. Of course by that point the damage was done and none of the conspiracy theorists bothered to read the results from the experts so Windows 10 still has that reputation to this day despite MS having a website which tells you EXACTLY what they collect and for what purpose.

This is extremely wrong. Fiats 2020 carbon footprint is exponentially smaller than cryptocurrencies 2020 carbon footprint. Fiats 2020 ledger is exponentially larger than cryptocurrencies 2020 ledger. Cryptocurrency is BY DESIGN a wildly inefficient way to effect movement of wealth. If 100% of the worlds transactions were made with nation state issued currency, the financial system would play a negligible role in climate change. If 100% of the worlds transactions were processed on block chain we would almost certainly cross the climate tipping point in the next 24 months, and most of the earth would likely become incompatible with human existence.

Yea, I mean its just a currency. You could say the same thing about the cost of using paper money. Printing, stopping counterfeits, ATMs, shipping cash, etc all take a large toll on the environment too.

Whether or not it bottlenecks kind of depends on your monitor. If its like 4k or 1440p likely no. If it is 1080p it might.

I have discovered that this issue had something to do with leaving it plugged up overnight and unplugging the computer before waking it. It is solved by a full shutdown, NOT a restart. A restart does not fix it.
 
Symptoms included:
Full, maxed out fan speed 100% of the time
Low CPU load, <5%
Low CPU temperature, <40C
Unable to be changed by MyAsus fan control utility
MyAsus diagnostic tool was able to temporarily change fan speed when testing the fans
Fan speed was also maxed out in UEFI Bios after restarting into it, showed 5500rpm
 
Laptop was an Asus Zenbook 14 Q407IQ-BR5N4 Mx350 Ryzen 5 4500u 8GB RAM 256gm NVME
 
Again, the solution is to do a FULL SHUT DOWN. It is triggered by charging your laptop fully, unplugging it, and then starting it.

Yea, I tried to do that earlier. MSI afterburner doesn't allow me to change fan speed
 
I really didn't want to take it to a service center but I guess I will have to now.

I would honestly hold on for 2 more years or so and then just upgrade platforms totally when ddr5 is a thing.

I believe this thread has run it's course. @Mark MacDiarmid has gotten considerable advice on how to build an epic gaming setup for their kids. Due to things brought up by both commenters and the Author alike, allowing further discussion on this matter will only cause warnings to be handed out and we'd rather avoid that if possible. 

You're right in the new one will be faster. It might just be a wiser and more intelligent choice for your life to invest 10k into your future (stocks or whatever) (and the future of your kids) and the rest into a new pc, which would still be plenty for what you want to achieve simply through listening to the advice the people give you.
 
The threadripper and amount of ram is the most brutal waste of money I've seen in years for this application, not to speak of trying to make quad SLI work in more than one game. 
Why? Mainly playing a game that is brutally single-core dependant on a processor that... Is known for many threads, not good single-core performance... It's Threadripper, not Singlethreadripper.
128gb of ram that will give you less performance in your game just to be able to put it onto a ramdrive that makes the game... Load a few milliseconds faster than a fast NVME drive would.
Quad SLI that... If you find one game that scales the third card somewhat okay I'm surprised, let alone the 4th one. Also that won't be long lasted. As others have stated, SLI and Crossfire will die out. Why?
It made sense back in a day. Buy two cheap cards, throw them together and get almost linear scaling. Many did it, many could afford it. Well supported because of many users.
Today: SLI isn't a thing on lower end cards, only on top of the shelf products that run the games at high resolution with perfectly playable fps already. Basically noone will put two of them together, let alone 4. Noone will support it because of a few hundred users in the world using it on that game.
 
Conclusion: Better invest the money you're saving by following the tips the people give you and spend them on some AMD stock and be happy while playing your game

No SLI is not going to make a comeback at all. Even Nvidia is removing this feature from Consumer level dGPU if they have not already. I doubt that WoW even has support. 

SLI is gonna make a comeback, you heard it here first !! LOL
 
For the games I'm playing SLI is a must have (the big one being world of warcraft) .... I think I'm starting to sound like a promoter for Blizzard
