I have this laptop and it does have an expansion area for a HDD you do have to order a kit form acer's site for around 17 dollars which comes with the sata cable and mount but I got a 1TB storage drive in addition to the already installed SSD and it works fine.

I have a model of this laptop as well from microcenter and couldn't be more happy with it.  I concur with the display assessment it doesn't seem to handle blacks very well and they get washed out towards the edge and viewing angles could be better but for the price it is an impressive little work machine that can do some light gaming as well.  I truly do appreciate the lightweight of it while still having all the ports needed

Then get a 9900K, it is superior to the 2950x for most (if not all) Abobe CC applications and gaming.

You can say all, the thing is redshift only cares about the GPU, both Adobe and Cinema4d editing will take far more benefit on the i9's faster cores while 16threads should be sufficient for the multi-tasking.

So as much as one wants to favour AMD we're really talking about the i9 9900K giving superior performance for less costs.

This is something which I would get in that budget, but others may have some better opinions.

Some people just have preferences. I'd take Intel over AMD even if it costed more money, because I've had better experiences with Intel.
Until AMD fixes their memory issues (yes, I know the 2000 series is better, but until I can stick any memory in it and it works fine it's not fixed enough IMO) and they're basically par in games I'm not interested.
They're not idiots for wanting what they want. Not everyone looks at price to performance and chooses things that way. If that were the case, I'd own a $15 watch instead of a $1,200 one even though they both do the same thing.

sjb655 reacted to Arika in And now I don't understand humans.....
As a sale rep you should remain unbiased. The customer came in knowing exactly what they wanted, they explicitly asked you for it. And you instead offered them AMD? why? That's not what they asked for.

They had come in and asked for help deciding on a CPU, sure give them the pros and cons of each. They chose Intel over AMD for one reason or another, that's not for us to know, but to call them aliens or having taken mind altering drugs (stupid pills) to be the reason that they would choose Intel is so childish.

This would be a pointless video for Linus to make. All the information is already out there for people to draw their own conclusions as to what they should get both have their advantages and to some people the additional cost of the Intel CPUs don't matter. Linus is not the be all and end of all of tech information and purchasing decisions

sjb655 reacted to mynameisjuan in Samsung shows of their mobile phone design direction in 2019, and it's HUGE
People should use newer phones with Experience and not touch wiz to stop this BS about bloated software and slowing down. My S8 is almost 2 years old at this point and runs just as fine or even snappier than the day I bought it.

Their software is holding up better than most other manufactures now including Google. On my S8+ and unplug at 7am and by the time I leave work at 5pm my battery is at 90%. I have also had a Note 3 and 4 and cannot say the same. Samsung has really improved their software because they are actually listening.

No, because the thing that you are claiming is that Apple decided to make their phones thinner and decided to remove things like the headphone jack only for the purpose of making their devices harder to repair. It couldn't possibly be because going thinner and lighter has been one of Apples core philosophies or any other reason. They way you presented:
Makes it appear as though you believe that Apple has retconned their entire history to be a massive middle finger to their customers. That simply isnt that case.

Everything that I've read or have seen people saying is that Pixel is still better in that regard, especially after a prolonged use.

Touchwiz/Samsung Experience has improved a lot and is far from what it used to be. I've used it from time to time on every S phone except S2. They have imtroduced a lot of features as well, be it from Google or their own. They are far from stock android and come with far more bloatware than anyone would like, but it's far from all negative. I'd go as far to say it's one of better version of android at this moment. I am not the only one that thinks that, talking about other professional media as well.

sjb655 reacted to Fr8ty in The Truth About Building Your Own PC
This community is great, but what I'm about to say might offend some of the dedicated pc builders and tech savvies, but I believe it is the truth. I built my first pc 2 years ago and it has been a wonderful experience. I had almost no trouble shooting errors (except not flipping on the on switch on the back of the power supply my first boot which freaked the hell outa me) and I have had a great time exploring this area of technology. Now pc building has become a lot easier imo and is much easier to do now adays. I honestly believe the adult lego metaphor for pc building is an accurate representation of it. I even helped my friend build a pc who was originally going to buy a prebuilt system to begin with. But last night was my first major error. I have a define S case from fractal and I am cooling my cpu with an h100i v2. Now I have the radiator mounted to the top of the case rather the side and that makes it so I can't place the top panels on the case leaving a vent film almost open. I was standing up from my desk and i knocked a cup of water into the pc. Thankfully only the graphics card was damaged and I am in the process of and rma as we speak. Now uneducated people might have thought the whole system was ruined and taken it in. This is where prebuilts shine. A prebuilt you dont have to worry about which part is under warranty or which part was damaged. You can just take it in and trade it in for a new system if under warrenty and ask for your hard drive back. And its true buying a prebuilt is so much easier and less stressful. I spent probably 20 hours building and researching all the components for my pc. Worrying that i was going to mess up. I probably watched 10 tutorials on how to build my pc. Especially now with RAM and GPU prices being so high prebuilts might be the better option to go with currently. But I would have to say I would never trade anything for the knowledge i gained building my pc. I feel much more comfortable troubleshooting now and handling the computer components and I feel as if everyone should have the experience. But if you just want a pc and you just want to plug it in and not have to worry about anything I recommend a prebuilt all the way. I promise you eventually you will have an issue with the pc you built but in my opinion it is a challenge for you to figure out how you fix it. I hope this helped anyone who is debating on building a pc make their decision. I will be happy to answer questions or guide you through the process and help make new people more comfortable when starting this project. Thank you

I'm watching this unfold and laughing at the amount of overreaction going on.  9900k is going to be the fastest chip on the block by a wide margin.  You can be as autistic you want complaining about cooler or ram or whatever the fuck, it isn't going to change that outcome.

Go read the 50 other reviews going online for more information.  You're an idiot if you're relying on basically marketing material.
