Yes you can over clock the fury's, i myself have gone from 1000 to 1100mhz...you no longer need Trixxx to do this, you can now do it in afterburner, it works perfectly too...

I can squeeze 1130mhz just about but it sometimes crashes....its a shame that the fury doesn't over clock better as it has so much thermal head room....

The  actual over clocks actually scale well a 10% OC resulting in around 8-10% increase in performance for me.

You can over-clock the memory too, but it resulted in no gains for me.

I think jayztwocents did something on this.  If i remember correctly he concluded that even if it was unlocked it wasn't very helpful at all, he either couldn't get it to overclock very far or it got too hot or something.  MSI or somebody came out with a program that unlocked the core voltage and that's how he concluded that

Weird choice. You should wait with a Display till you know what you want. Possible new GPUs are available than.

Appreciate you looking out for me. Few months I'm also going to upgrade to an R9 Fury. Think I'm done with nvidia for a while.

I have the Gsync variant of the Acer one. XB270HU. Very pleased with it, have no issues with noticeable backlight bleed or glow. Generally quite even.

The top of the line monitors have seen significant improvement even in the past year. Just because something cost a lot in the past doesn't mean anything in the current time, it just means it was good (or overpriced) for its time or the production costs were a lot higher.

And honestly, that monitor only takes DVI and VGA. No option for DP or HDMI.

Or better yet abandon Oculus as they're embracing shit strategies to divide all the VR markets, go with Valve VR instead.

My friend bought a pretty budget combo deal with just a 5800k, and I have an old gtx 460. I know the 460 is definitely aged but do you think it's worth giving it to him?

The PSU overkill makes the PSU fan go so fast RPM that it begins to hover and eventually take off like a rocket in your system and ends up going to space.

    Ok sorry lol

It is not bad to overkill on the PSU at all, electricity bill will be the same regardless of psu size, no issues whatsoever.

Both are obviously fairly important. I do own a 144hz/1ms monitor, but I don't think 5ms is that bad. I almost require 144hz in a monitor though, which is unfortunately the reason why I'm sticking away from 4K, as much as I want to try 4K
