  1. Well hopes to winning, (since my last cpu just died on me )
  2. at this price point you are probably better off buying an old tower off craigslist, adding a drive and using free nas which has a plex plugin
  3. Linus, I love what you have created with the community you have grown. I watch the every wan show and it is amazing to see that your company is growing and will continue to grow. Thank you soo much for providing everyone with great free content.
  4. when the board says it supports 2400 it says (oc) overclocked, so unless you are pushing the bus speed multiplier (FSB) you wont hit 2400 even if your memory supports it.
  5. have you considered maybe other wifi networks in the area? you could try and setting your router to a certain channel instead of having it on auto. Also temperature could be hurting the router, if it is getting to hot.
  6. i would like to chime in, a better motherboard will last longer and if the audio on it is an issue its always easier to add a sound card. the other option puts you in the position where you may loose out on some nice motherboard features but gain an after market sound card. In short i would always go for the best motherboard and if the sound is an issue you can always add a sound card later.
  7. If you dont mind doing some work you could end up with something like this: http://www.ikeahackers.net/2012/04/galant-gets-gorgeous.html but really it would depend on your room dimensions and what else you are trying to fit in there.
  8. starting off your drive may have been in ATA or IDE mode. So if you cloned the drive and tried to switch to AHCI mode the drive will not respond. to fix your boot issue you will just need the original drive and go back into ATA/IDE mode. My best suggestion would get your pc back to running condition, locate everything you want backed up and save it to a partition on the 1TB drive. Install windows fresh onto the ssd while under AHCI mode then just move the backed up files to your ssd if you feel up to it you may also try this: http://www.oczforum.com/forum/showthread.php?69682-Change-from-IDE-to-AHCI-after-Installation you could try downloading the latest version of the migration software, if worst comes to worst you could always try different software: http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm http://clonezilla.org/ http://www.partition-tool.com/download.htm any of these should work, you will have to do a full wipe on the ssd and start over as far as a data back up.
  9. What I am trying to do: - I have three monitors and I loved having the option to win+shift+arrow to move my currently selected window to a new monitor with out having to drag it across. Running windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) with Aero on. What I have tried: -unused registry item clean/wipe -enable/disable aero via command line -tried three different keyboards -restarting -driver updates -tested it on another windows 7 pc, and the shortcuts do still work. as far as I can tell, there is nothing limiting my keyboard functionality on my machine. ( not my av either ) Any suggestions? I would love the return of this shortcut functionality. The only other thing I could think of is maybe my explorer.exe has been replaced with a counterfeit one ( not likely but not impossible ). Well i figured out what was causing me grief, I realized that I had disabled stickykeys and when it auto enabled it ticked some other options under the accessibility menu. if anyone else ends up with this issue all that you need to do assuming it is the same thing is make sure that you have: "Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of screen." unchecked, it is founder under: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Ease of Access Center\Make the keyboard easier to use

The only macros i tend to use in game are used to chat fast, when playing with pubs. Mainly in league: macros to call the lane i want and macros to call missing. saves on typing
  11. http://anilinkz.com usually has 0 day releases on site ( same day it airs )
  12. take a look at this "gem" http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/sys/4113343911.html
  13. Oh man, If i won this I would rip out the seagate drives in my freenas and instantly replace them with those awesome wd reds. Its a shame though I only went with seagate because 3TB was $90 at the time when 3TB WD reds were almost $200 a pop or completely sold out. Anyways here is my twitter link: https://twitter.com/thedevilgod/status/375194984707653632 @thedevilgod ( not sure that this counts as i rarely use twitter but oh well )
  14. linus, you should make the pink badge free labor on a custom built pc from linus/team assuming they provide the parts.

  16. Well I am using a A6-5400k in a freenas build and lately I have been noticing it going offline randomly, I plugged in my monitor to see what was up and the computer was frozen with blue particles showing. I thought this was my under volt being unstable, so i restored it to default clock speed and settings and something is still causing it. Any ideas?
  17. that actually looks very nice I will have to give it a try
  18. I think you guys are missing the point here, I m not asking if i should do it. I was asking if you guys know of any good readers that have decent software behind it, example the options to integrate with Windows Biometric Framework, open apps based off which finger was swiped, store multiple users and other options in that regard. IMO the best security prevention is keeping them from the actual computer, so I do have good locks and solid doors.
  19. max trasnfer rate is 125MB/s over a gigabit network in my experience ssd to ssd via network transfer i usualy see around 95-105MB/s , its probably your harddrive or ssd if you are transferring a lot of smaller files
  20. Hey guys I just discovered this nice little program so I thought I would share it. "Prio" aka Priority Saver 2.0 adds a few cool features to your task manager, you can also auto start programs with administrative privileges.
  21. its more for easy of access not keeping people out, and it allows me to let other people use my computer with out divulging my passwords or making guest accounts
  22. if you wanted a more custom one you can check this out: http://www.maxkeyboard.com/max-keyboard-nighthawk-x8-semi-custom-backlit-mechanical-keyboard.html it has brown switches and you can pick the lighting, even up to every key if you wanted but it would be expensive
