  1. Never done it, better ask someone else.
  2. You could get an i7-7700k or i5-7600k and flash your motherboards bios. It would save you the money of buying an expensive new motherboard.
  3. The single core performance should be already very close to that of an 8700k if it is overclocked that high
  4. Not unless you have deep pockets. Buy a beefy cooler if you don't already have one and overclock your i5
  5. Nah, but we were thinking along the lines of using those useful floppy connectors
  6. The country with the most semi trucks, mining, and Harleys would be lit up in all red
  7. That is really cool!!!! but limited in capability as an early warning system because earthquake waves travel so fast. On the other hand, it only takes a few seconds for people to hear an alarm and duck under a table.
  8. I'm still rocking an i7-3930k more than enough for everything I need.
  9. Get an Intel G4560 and a GTX 1060 3gb. 1060 will perform very well on any of the games you play at 1080p. With 8gb of ram and a cheap motherboard and a low power PSU you will have a great system.
  10. Do you already have the intel g2020? Becuase dual thread cpus are basically outdated. I would get a GTX 1050 (if you must a 750ti) and a G4620. It is worth spending more on a rig like this and having it for 4-5 years rather than being disappointed with old hardware (my dad has a dual-core no hyperthreading system. It runs hot and the cpu is pinned at +90% from just browsing the web). GTX 650 would be the best GPU from your list.
  11. Maybe it's a fan vibration problem? but it certainly sounds like coil whine
  12. Nahhhhhh, it was because of how well it heated the house
  13. http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-8700K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-8600K/3937vs3941
  14. Didn't say that, i said that the 8700k is an absolute beast in gaming because of its clock speeds and has really god multicore performance.
