  1. Looks good, think I'll just go ahead and buy this. Thanks.
  2. Currently have a 24" 144hz 1080p monitor. Want to buy a 27" 1440p monitor 144hz+. Some help in deciding on what to buy would be great. Plan on buying from amazon.co.uk or scan.co.uk. Wanting to purchase something before Black Friday ends on the 27th. Budget: £350 What I'm currently looking at. Acer Nitro XV271UM3B Gigabyte M27Q LG UltraGear 27GR75Q Thanks in advance.
  3. Aight, thanks for the quick response. Was fishing out my PSU bag for the cable just in case haha.
  4. Title really, do I need both 8 pins plugged in for the 7800x3D? Haven't had a Mobo with dual 8 pins before. MOBO: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI
  5. Only reason I didn't buy the Tomahawk x670e is because of delivery windows. Said by August 16-September 16. Decided to just go with a the B650 and call it a day. Also decided I didn't really see the need for the PCIe5.0 GPU. Saved some money, so works out for me. Just waiting for it to arrive so I can set it all up now. About coil whine, I have no clue about any of that either. I also don't use USB-Cs. I'm a bit out the loop with those haha. As long as I can plug it in and it works, I'll take it. Wish you the best of luck with your assembly though!
  6. Was more thinking whether I would even use the 5th Gen PCIe GPU slot x) Now I need to find some RAM as the one I have selected, I didn't notice it wasn't next day delivery.
  7. Had a look, torn between the MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi and Asus ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WiFi. Prices for me are £200 and £265. Both next day delivery which is great. I did check out the Asrock B650E PG Riptide WiFi but it seems to be very expensive at the moment, and delivery can take a while. The Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX was also an option, just that it seems to be extremely overpriced than the B650 Tomahawk. £50 more for a PCIe5 SSD slot that I will probably never utilize. So it's pretty much do I spend the extra £65 for the PCIe 5.0 GPU slot or go with the B650 Tomahawk. Any advice on this? Also used the written version as I watched it, thanks for the link Brooksie. Gigabyte B650 AORUS Pro AX is also an option, just that it seems a bit pricey compared to other boards. A whopping £80 more than the Tomahawk.
  8. Hey, thanks for the quick response. I'll take a look.
  9. My AM4 Motherboard died. Instead of buying a replacement just going to upgrade to the AM5 platform. Need help picking a Mobo. The CPU and RAM (also the SSDs but that's whenever) need to bought but the rest is already locked in as I already have it from my old rig. To be honest, this motherboard is probably fine but just wondering if there's something better around this price range. 10. Don't think I'm going to buy a 4080 or 4090 at the moment, can't really justify a purchase of £1000-1500 for a GPU which is double the price of what the 6950XT was. Was just curious whether it would be worth the upgrade or not. Thanks for the clarification.
  11. Bought some PC parts a month or two ago to upgrade my AM4 platform for a couple years to come. After some issues with the CPU (5800x3D), I've decided to RMA it for a refund. Now, I could just buy another 5800x3D, stick it in my PC and call it a day. Due to increase in budget since, I am thinking maybe I should just upgrade my PC to AM5 and use it for the foreseeable future with the choice to upgrade in the future without replacing the motherboard. Budget (including currency): £800-900 Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly gaming, and most types of games (MMOs, Mobas etc) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Resolution: 1440p 144hz+ (Have yet to buy the monitor due to issues). Planning on buying the new PC in a week or two, or the 5800x3D on Monday. I might possibly need a better cooler for the 7800x3D? Lastly, planning on buying another SSD to replace my MX500(M.2 version) as it's saying it incompatible with most of the decent AM5 motherboards. Thanks in advance.
  12. Anything else I can try? Or should I just RMA stuff one by one and try the replacement until it's fixed? Saw a post where it didn't even work doing that - they just couldn't use their GPU with their setup. Kinda hope it's not like that.
  13. Been running it for about 30 minutes, noticed its set to 10,000 iterations. How long do you reckon I should run it for? Edit: Left it on overnight, gone through 17 iterations. Feel like it should be fine no? So its possibly my RAM failing?
  14. Unfortunately not at home at the moment. Will need to try it out later today or sometime this week. Is it possible to tell whether its the CPU, RAM, PSU or GPU? Mainly because it happens on stock settings with the CPU so just curious. Noticed the RAM I bought is also not the QVL for the mobo - not normally an issue but I guess it could be that. GPU, kinda hope it's not that as it took forever to arrive.
