  1. I feel like I missed something, when did Linus first drop that he bought this place?
  2. Code red emergency: the YouTube channel is f'ed up, has Elon musk and Tesla on it
  3. Ya, with my order wizmo had no update, when UPS had already picked it up and it had left CA.
  4. My screwdriver finally arrived today! Initial impressions are very good, ratchet is really light and the magnet is very strong. Worth the wait, in my opinion. @Alex T88, I hope you get yours soon (and everyone else waiting as well).
  5. Happy new year to you and everyone else here! My order is safely in the hands of UPS (who has been pretty good and timely to me), ETA is still Jan 4th, latest update is that it's arrived in PA (I live in NY, so almost here!)
  6. Ughhh you are not having good luck with ordering things.
  7. That sucks, I definitely understand why you're upset. Ya, I should've thought about how it would come across. I just felt like I needed to counterbalance all the upset messages.
  8. And an update on my order: #388***, picked up by UPS, ETA is updated to Jan 4th.
  9. You're right, back-order is the right term. I wouldn't call general knowledge of the "scrappiness" of LMG and of the inaccuracy of their timeline, "valuable and exact" information, but sure, I'll apologize for not sharing that months ago. I'm not trying to defend Linus, or his team, and they don't need me to. All I'm doing is trying to put a different light on the issue, to encourage someone to not stress over things such as this. I sincerely hope so, that was my only goal.
  10. Order #388***, black shaft, got my shipment notification on Dec 19. Wizmo tracking says it left Vancouver on the 23rd, and UPS tracking expects it to arrive on the 27th (I live in the US). Honestly? I knew what I was signing up for when I got it. I knew it was a pre-order. I knew the black shafts would take even longer, because they are pretty much made-to-order. I know they're a small company, still figuring out the massive undertaking of shipping hyped-up products. When I placed the order, I was well-aware that it was an "it'll show up when it does" situation. So I'm not mad, or disappointed. In fact, it'll be like a surprise present I forgot I was getting when it arrives. If you ordered it as an xmas present, I understand the frustration, but otherwise? I just forget about it, check my email and the forums once in a while, and once the screwdriver shows up in my mailbox, I will be excited to use it. Until then, . And a lesson to take away from all this? Pre-orders might not make the best time-sensitive gift.
  11. Order #388***, black shaft, got my shipment notification on Dec 19. Wizmo tracking says it left Vancouver on the 23rd, and UPS tracking expects it to arrive on the 27th (I live in the US). EDIT: UPS has received it, now the arrival has been updated to Jan 4th.
  12. I hope that's not the issue - my motherboard is $400! Practically I doubt it's a power issue, as my motherboard is an X570 that's made for overclocking (beefy VRMs and such), and I just got a new 850w Asus PSU to handle the new card, and I made sure to use 2 separate cables for the 2 8-pins on the gpu. How would I isolate a power delivery issue?
  13. So I just got an AMD RX 6700 XT, to upgrade my system which currently has a GTX 1050 ti, with a R5 3600 and 32gb of ram on a Asus Crosshair VIII Hero X570. I have 2 PCIe Gen 3 m.2 SSDs as well. I want to keep my nvidia gpu in the system, to run things that need CUDA cores, and to add extra grunt for things like folding@home. (I have 2 monitors, but they both will be connected to the AMD.) My issue is, the nvidia gpu does not want to run in the 2nd pcie slot, as in it doesn't show up at all, in device manager or even the bios. Here's what I've tried so far: I did DDU with just the nvidia in the top slot, and downloaded the latest drivers for each gpu (but didn't install). Put the AMD in the top slot, moved nvidia to the 2nd. Only amd showed up, installed amd drivers. Shut down and swapped nvidia and amd, restarted, both showed up, installed nvidia drivers. Shut down, swapped back (amd top, nvidia 2nd), both showed up and played fine. Opened up 3dmark, immediately got a BSOD, caused by GPU-Z according to the error code. Restarted, nvidia gpu is gone. Swapped again (nvidia in top slot), both show up, re-install nvidia drivers. Swap back (amd top), nvidia not showing up. And that's where I'm at now. I've tried disabling and enabling resizable bar, running with just the nvidia in the 2nd slot, and they don't work. For some reason, nvidia doesn't want to work in the 2nd slot. I can try swapping back and forth again, see if it fixes it, but it's annoying. I have 2 sides to my question– why doesn't the nvidia card want to work in the 2nd slot? Is it a motherboard limitation? PCIe lane allocation? But then why does the amd work (at least, it turns on) in the 2nd slot? And the other side is, can I run the amd gpu in the 2nd slot? I don't think that's an ideal setup, but if that's what it takes I might do it. I'm just worried about things like resizeable bar not working, programs defaulting to the nvidia gpu (because it's in the main slot), and PCIe lane allocation, because I've seen videos where GPUs in an 8x slot perform worse (the 2nd 16x slot is electrically an 8x). Later today I'm going to try swapping them around again, but I don't have time now, so I figured I'd ask to see if maybe there's something I'm missing.
  14. You can tell a PZ screw from the extra four lines in the head (see picture), I've seen a ton of screws that I thought were phillips but were actually pz, I pretty much use them interchangeably though.
  15. Beginning of Wave 3, #388xxx, black shaft and a bunch of other stuff, so far nothing after the initial order confirmation.
