  1. So a while back I was able to get my hands on a "relatively" new server from someone who bought it from a business that was downsizing. Originally I just wanted something to run Plex but this server is waaaaay overkill for that function and I am trying to find other things to do with the server. The server is a IBM x3755 m3 with 4x Opteron 6276 (16 core), 256 GB DDR3, 2x 450 GB SAS disks, and 6 open drive slots. It also has 2 dual port fibre PCI cards (which I see no use in for home function). So essentially I have all this horse power and not a lot I can think to do with it. Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas on what to do with something like this?
  2. So I am looking for some insight on basic point and shoot cameras and the quality of WiFi cards that they use. Basically what we want to do is have a simple point and shoot camera for business events that we can take pictures with and add to an active slideshow that would be running in our lunch room or company event. I have all the logistics of running the slideshow and having it actively update with new pictures as they are coming in. My problem now lies with the camera itself, so originally I bought a Canon SX620 HS and for the most part it works, however I find that it has trouble always connecting to the network when you want it to upload images. When I do get it connected it will either show it has 1 or 2 bar connection or connect but be unable to upload. The WiFi in our building is a non issue as we run several routers in a mesh network and the quality is pretty much perfect throughout the building. My thinking is that the camera I bought just has a cheap WiFi card inside it, my thinking is if I buy a more expensive camera I should get better quality wireless inside it. My thoughts were on something like a Canon PowerShot G9X Mark 2 or a Sony DSC RX100 Mark 2. My budget on this is a little limited so I cant go all out and buy the best on the market. Just wondering if anyone else has tried something like this and could give me some advice. Thanks
  3. I recently came into the procession of 2 brand new Xeon 7110N processors and I am having a little bit of trouble finding a appropriate MB for them. I know they are PPGA604 socket supported however I am not sure if that mean they work with any 604 socket type MB or if I have to look for on that specifically lists this type in it. Hoping someone on here might be able to help!
