Since it's this compact formfactor.. M1 macbook Air in the Storage/Ram configuration you need.
Fast, Silent, longer battery life than any Windows Ultrabook. Even without a Fan, it beats every single Intel Tiger Lake-U series Chip.
Best Trackpad for best "usability" without a Mouse, and MacOS has a really great Speech to Text function (works really great for me, while the one from Microsoft Word doesn't really work that well).

But nothing is replaceable, and not the sexiest Bezels ever.

Small bezels can be found on the Dell XPS 13 9310, which is quite similar to the Razor Book 13 (both 13", both 16:10 with 1920x1200).

You can find good Notebookcheck Reviews for all 3, so that makes it very easy to compare some aspects:

You can still run windows on the macbook through bootcamp or other methods, no need for changing your laptop.

I did try one of these, but my issue is with the microphone not the playbck. These isolators can't transmit the microphone signal so I get no microphone output out of them if I use it.

Poorly grounded internals in the headset. I'd go for the usb dac, its easier to install, cheaper in most cases, and will likely fix the issue all the same.

Yeah, the integrated sound card on that motherboard is already perfectly adequate for such a simple mic like that. Its even shielded to help with a bit of EM interference and physical damage. sounds honestly to me like it could be a few things then.
Either the cable included is really poorly insulated and picking up too much environmental interference. Google reviews though dont point towards that.
Or you've got a bad connection either in the headset itself, or at the computer. Having tried different ports though apparently, and the headset being new, that wouldnt make much sense but is still possible.
As unlikely as I think it would be based off that motherboard, I guess theres still the chance that the motherboard simply cannot output the power to drive the relatively low impedance of the headset and the microphone off a single 4-pole 3.5mm. Typically though when output power from a sound card is insufficient the sound will be extremely poor, not just introduce slight buzzing.
Or, could just be a software issue. I'd first disable any kind of automatic mic gain because you're not a villain and can probably properly balance mic levels. Auto-gains also make background static or noise unbearable if you stop talking for any period of time. Maybe that if not done already will bring what ever static you're picking up low enough that its no longer an issue.

Thats about all I've got. Maybe some other audio genius can whip in here and throw some more stuff your way.

The b350/b450 motherboards do allow overclocking. The hyper 212 cooler you have should be able to provide adequate cooling for some light overclocking before thermals become a concern.

Maybe wait a bit for Intel to launch their 9th gen chips, AMD might respond with price cuts.

Since you mentioned you would like to listen to it with your phone walking around campus it means you are looking for headphones to also listen to music. Then those gaming headphones you mentioned are definitely not for you. Also it means you're looking for closed headphones unless you want to walk around having people hear what you're listening to. I would recommend the Superlux 669 and Status Audio CB-1 as mentioned above and a seperate mic.

I mean.... it is a 4 cores / 4 threads CPU only, all games can fully use at least 4 threads meaning the game alone can consume all of your CPU and you're left with no room for other applications... if you wanted to multitask a lot you should have gone with the i7 6700k

don't think it will make much of a difference. Whats your graphics card? Maybe that's generating lots of heat as well? The fx8350 is known to run quite hot so maybe change radiator placement or get some higher static pressure fans? Either way you will never achieve anything close to a silent system with that processor so you better get used to the fans noise. Maybe get some nice headphones instead and ramp up the fans? Overclocking is onmly going to make matters worse. Maybe leave the side panel open if you have to? helps a lot in hot systems

Well it looks like your MB has fan headers specifically designated as either 3-pin or 4-pin.
Unlike newer MBs yours may not be able to adjust the speed of a 3-pin fan plugged into a 4-pin socket.
It looks like CPU Fan and SYS Fan-1 are designated 4-pin and SYS Fan-2 and PWR Fan are 3 pin.
Not sure what PWR Fan means as opposed to SYS Fan.
So I would try the 3-pin fans in SYS Fan-2 and PWR Fan to see if the speed can be controlled there.
    Here is your MB manual...

Considering its a AMD FX 8350 I would go with the Dark Rock Pro the Deep cool Captain 240Ex  is a little overkill. I myself have had the FX 8350 and a Liquid cooler (H80i v2) on it and its over the top.
However if you do see yourself upgrading to a ryzen depending which model I would go for a Deep cool Captain 240EX (for overclocking)

Well , the 240 EX is a high end AIO , but you won't be running against a thermal wall on ryzen anyway .
The DRP3 seems like the sweetspot . You can spring for the aio if you want to splurge , but i doubt you'd see a difference in terms of overclocking on ryzen . You might see a small difference on the 8350 though.
